CHAPTER 10

DARIO'S POV...

The moment she tasted the soup, I could feel the excitement in her voice, her eyes as usual beaming with glitters, she is a cheerful person despite everything that has happened to her, she still found a way to be Happy, to smile at my slightest joke, she was easy to love, and what was there not to love.

No matter how many times I try to stop myself from loving her, from wanting her, I just grew more drawn to her, I felt like marking her instantly so that every wolf would know she was mine and mine alone.

I only heard a few bites when Luke spoke to me through the mind—link.

" Dario! Come over to the report room immediately!!"

There was panic in his voice, and yet, I couldn't smell any fear around him and concluded it was not a threat

" I will leave you to enjoy your meal!"

I announced, and could see the disappointment in her eyes.

" You are leaving?"

" Yes! I have to go now".

" But you barely had a bite"

" Something came up, I will see you at dinner"

I assured her before hurriedly stepping out of the dinning room.

" What is going on? " I questioned, walking into the report room where Luke and Zane stood together, I could hear their breath increase, while Zane kept playing with his fingers.

" It the hunters!" Luke announced.

" They are at the boarder right now seeking audience"

" Why would they seek an audience with me, they have no right after everything they've done to our kind? Tell them I wouldn't be granting their request".

" Alpha!!" Zane called, he knew I could hear his heart beat and was trying to stay calm.

" They say you not granting their request would mean declaring a war"

" They would dare declare a war right now?"

"Dario, I think they would. They know we are still at war with pesh....."

" Let them in, I will be at the training camp"

Zane bows before walking away.

" Do you have any idea why the hunters would want to speak to you?" Luke wondered.

" I guess we are about to find out, let go."

I sat on my armchair at the center of the training camp where only the alpha could sit and Luke stood beside me.

The hunters accompanied by two of my most aggressive men walked in. I could see their leader, I knew him even before I became the alpha.

His gray hair were visible now, and so we're the wrinkles in his eyes, beside him was his son-in-law who was next in line since his daughter was dead.

" To what do I owe this unpleasant visit?"

I stood up, showing no emotions.

" I heard you have something of mine"

Their leader spoke as he stopped right in front of me, his teeth bare.

" I thought we have a mutual understanding that allows the hunters of my tribe to stay away from the monsters you have, so why would you want to break that understanding by abducting my granddaughter"?

Luke pop his eyes as he turns to stare at me.

" I do not harbor hunters here in my tribe, so I suggest you look somewhere else"

" And you wouldn't mind if I order my men to search?"

" You would not dare come into my town and disrespect me"

I clenched my fist trying hard to control my wolf who was trying to lush out.

" My daughter is here, I have solid evidence she is here, Aurelia!!!"

His son-in-law Joe barked, and I could suddenly feel Aurelia close, she was close to the camp.

' Shit!! Go and stop Aurelia from coming out here' I mind-link to Luke, but before he could try, Aurelia was already at the camp.

" Dad?!!" Aurelia called, and I heaved a sigh of frustration.

" Aurelia! What are you doing here, did they hurt you, did they do anything to you?"

Joe asked, scanning around her body for any scare.

Their leader Armel rush to me, his fist clench tight as he tries to strike a blow at me, but I stopped his hand in time making him stagger backward.

The hunters immediately brought out their spear ready to attack while my wolves quickly transform to their wolf form growling.

" How dare you turn my granddaughter into a wolf!!" Armel barked, his eyes were now bloody, his fist wanting to devour, but he knew he stands no chance.

" Grandpa! Calm down, he did not do anything to me"

Aurelia spoke, her voice sobbing, and her heart beat shattered my heart. I signal my wolves who were now ready to devour to stand back, and they immediately changed back to their Human form.

" Aurelia! Why didn't you tell me, and you told me you were going to LA"

Armel spoke, his voice soft on his granddaughter?

" Grandpa, I didn't want you to be ashamed of me..... The alpha did nothing wrong".

" It okay baby, am here now, am here to take you back home"

" Am sorry, but that won't be possible!" I exclaimed.

" You won't stop me from taking my daughter"

" Your daughter is now part of my pack, and her safety at this moment depends on me, I can't let you take her"

" I don't think it is your decision to make, Aurelia, tell him you want to go back home"

" Aurelia! I am sorry about everything that happened, I broke up with Natalie, please let go back everything can go back to the way it was".

" Nathan shut up" She growls, bringing fort her wolf aura, the hunters stepped back while the wolves whimpered, she indeed has the aura of a Luna.

" Aurelia, calm down!"

I calmed her, knowing how drastic her anger would be.

" Aurelia baby!" Her dad Joe called tenderly.

" Let go home baby, we will resolve these together as a family, let go home baby"

" Am sorry Dad, but this is my new home, am not leaving here, I don't belong with you, this is where I belong"

I heard her heart beat calmed, her words were sincere and directly from her heart.

" You choose to be with these monsters?"

Armel asked, his heart beat slow, and I could see the love he heard for his grandchild.

" Am sorry but am now one of these monsters at this moment, I belong here"

Armel' s feet became weak, his legs were slowly betraying him, but his son-in-law Joe and Nathan held him firm.

" Take me away from here" He managed to say, but before he turned his back, he stares deep into my eyes, there was fire, rage in his eyes tasty for blood.

" You turned the daughter of a wolf Hunter into a monster, I believe you are aware of the consequences, be ready for war."

" Yet you are not surprised that your daughter born with the curse of a hunter survived the bite"

I exclaimed, but there was no reaction from either of them as they walked out of the camp.
