The Wolf prowling across dimensions by Pandora's Reader
 Highschool of the Dead & My Hero Academia/僕のヒーローアカデミア Xover Rated: M, English, Family & Adventure, [OC, Rika M., Shizuka M., Saeko B.], Words: 820k+, Favs: 1k+, Follows: 1k+, Published: Nov 17, 2021 Updated: Nov 9 779Chapter 47: I'm home
I've had this thought about starting a p-on, just to see if people would support it. Idk how I'd feel about doing the whole 'pay for unpublished chapters' bit, so I might not do that. Not sure.
Anyway, I'll randomly be fixing up the early chapters. I've already gone over and updated ch 1.
That said, here's todays chapter.
Beta'd by NiteNight.
{30 minutes later Maccillian's POV}
"It's official, I hate this place." Saya snorted, and Shizuka hummed in agreement. Where were we you might ask?
Floor 12. The misty floors and a place the girls and I were slowly developing an undying hatred for. Why might you ask? Well floor 12 was something we were starting to call Bad Bat Hell. ~SCREEEEEEE!~ Also because of that.
Saya and Shizuka clutched their ears in pain, and I was so close to losing my fucking mind. I lost count of how many times our ears were blasted by them, but even if I had the patience of a saint at some times, I was losing it.
I coated my claws in aura, and slashed out at the sound. Not at it specifically, more of the general direction. "FUCKING DIE DAMMIT!" They were everywhere. Behind the trees. Hanging from the ceiling. In that little crook in the walls.
FUCKING EVERYWHERE!
And I HATED it. Like last night, we figured out our new ears were sensitive. Like, dog level sensitive. What made it worse was that we couldn't lower our hearing to human levels anymore. So when those things screeched, it HURT. Like holy fuck.
Back to the bats. My slashes cut through a few dozen of them, and there were just one or two stragglers left. Saya cracked her whip against the ground, sending off two aura bullets at them, finishing them off. The girls shook their heads, to feel better since our aura kept our eardrums from bursting, and I just growled. "Next floor. Now."They both agreed, and we left. Not even bothering to grab the stones from the bats.
I already ate one, and I got something good from it.

That was a thing. I wasn't going to try it out with Saya and Shizuka right by my side, but I'd do it later. I got some more stats from other things too, the frog, ants, moths, and imps all gave me a total of 45 stats to everything. Then the rabbit gave me 20 DEX, 25 STR from the Silverback, and I got 50 END from the orc and Hard Armored. Said orcs also tasted like bear, so I made a mental note to let Saeko know.
We didn't run into the dragon, which was more of a dinosaur if I remembered right, so that sucked. But that was fine, who needed that? I kinda did want to see it though, but I'd just hunt it down some other time.
"You know... Saeko would probably fight us to set up a house in the dungeon." I hummed at that.
"I could see it. Maybe not on these floors, but I could see her setting up on the 18th." Saya blinked.
"The 18th?" Oh yeah.
"It'll be a surprise... Though try not to go on this big fucking rant will you?" Her eye twitched at that, and she huffed.
"As long as its not stupid, then I won't."
"Good enough." We kept on walking, and eventually made it to the next floor. "Huh... I forgot it was like this." The place was a labyrinth, and I hated puzzles.
Saya looked around, but then her eyes settled on the walls. She walked up to them, put her hands on the stuff coming out of it, and hummed. "Bedrock... I might be able to use this for... Maybe an upgrade or at least an enhancement to the current material on Pionós." She brought out her claws after that, and tried cutting out some of the wall. Though she clicked her tongue when it didn't work. She even tried it with aura the next time, and even after making it a fucking laser cutter, it didn't work. So she put her 'thinking' face on, and just kept looking at the wall. Then after a few seconds, she turned to Shizuka. "Think you can break some off for me?"
Shizuka hummed, then tapped the wall with the back of her hand. "Oh, I don't know if I can break this... Should I try anyway?" I snorted, but Saya looked like she was sure she could.
"Hm... You SHOULD be able to. See if you can get me some." Shizuka nodded, and coated her fist in aura. I just watched as she cocked her fist back, then SMASHED it into the wall. The floor shook, and we all heard roars from probably everything on this floor.
The bedrock part of the wall broke though, but Shizuka winced as her aura flared a little as she brought her fist out. "Maybe I should've transformed first?" Saya scrunched her brows, then shrugged. After tapping Shizuka on the shoulder, a quick way for her to say thanks, she walked over to the shards and made another aura satchel. She had two for magic stones, ours and hers, another for the blue moth's scales, and started sticking parts of the wall into her satchel. When she was finished, she stood up, and we started going to explore the 13th.
We maybe got 5 steps in before a bunch of things happened at once.
A pack of Hellhounds ran in from one of the entrances.
A herd of Minotaur from another. Which didn't make sense since this was the 13th. I specifically remembered they were supposed to be on the 15th.
A giant worm from somewhere... (Fucker kinda looks like those giant death worms from the movies.)
And then a horde of bunnies from another entrance. I knew they WEREN'T bunnies, but when they were pretty much harmless, then that's what they were. Those got a squeal from Shizuka, and she was practically vibrating in place.
Though I didn't pay that much mind. I just looked at Saya, who was blinking at the sudden angry monster parade, and 'ahem'd her. She scowled as she looked at me, and I just smirked. "So what have we learned?" She grunted, walked up a bit, and brought her whip back out. I watched her coat it in aura, then swing towards the incoming horde.
The slash went towards them, and killed the worm, most of the Minotaur, and some of the hounds. Though the hounds stopped moving when I purposely flexed the submission ability of Wolf King's Aura. The only real monsters left were a handful of Minotaur, and the Almiraj. Saya huffed, then just started stomping towards the Minotaurs. "Not a fucking word mutt." I snorted, and walked after her.
Shizuka zoomed past us though, and went right over to the rabbits. Saya and I shared a look, and then shrugged. She'd be fine.
As Saya went to deal with the Minotaurs, I walked over to the Hellhounds, who were refusing to move, and I just crouched down to the nearest one as I looked at them. "So who do I eat?" They didn't move, and I just hummed as I scratched one's ears. It slowly blinked, then I saw its tail start to wag. It was kinda... Cute? "Huh... Maybe I should keep one of you?" The one I was petting didn't seem to understand me, but that was fine. The other hounds just kept staring at me, and I had a thought.
I looked at the other hounds, 5 if I excluded the one I was petting, and I hummed. "Hey girls!"
""What?/Yes?""
"What do you think about keeping some Hellhounds?" Saya stopped venting against the Minotaurs, and Shizuka just looked at me as she ignored the killer rabbits trying to bite her ankles. That was an image I'd laugh at later.
"CAN WE!?" I looked towards the Hellhounds, and pointed at Shizuka.
"Friend." They all looked at her, aside from the one I was scratching, and they blinked. Their eyes were still red, but I saw something interesting. There were flashes of Silver, like my aura, and it looked like something was happening. I wasn't sure what, but I decided to test out my Wolf King's Aura on them some more. So I amped up its effect, and watched as their eyes kept flashing Silver.
Then lo and behold, after another minute, their eyes went from pure red, to normal browns and other eye colors. Though they did have a coat of Silver on their eyes now.
The hounds all barked, and I just blinked. "Ok... Didn't expect for that to happen... Neat." They looked back to me, like dogs expecting you to tell them they were going to go on a walk, and I nodded. "Welp, they're ours now."
I heard steps coming towards me, and turned to see Saya dragging along a Minotaur for me to eat. She knelt by the hounds, I did the whole 'friend' thing, and she started to look at them. "Huh... Ratio of male to female?" That was a good question.
Saya and I checked them over, and found out it was 1:1 in the gender department. We nodded, and Shizuka came over with two rabbits. Though before I got to that, I had a Minotaur to eat. So turning to the still struggling cow, I hummed, then grabbed an arm. (Why do I keep going for the arm though?) That aside, I tore its arm off, and chowed down. "Beef... Nice." Saya snorted, and I shrugged.

Strength, it wasn't a question. I didn't need a tougher hide, though I'd end up with one anyway with all the endurance I'd end up getting. I didn't need something like rage, so strength was the only real choice. "Nice. Now for the bunny." I turned to the other Almiraj, that was struggling in Shizuka's grasp, and held my hand out. She gave it to me, and I bit into its leg.

I felt like the world was trying to tell me something, but I just ignored it and picked the stats.
Done with the rabbit, I looked around, and hummed. The other hounds were dead, the worm de-spawned a while ago, Saya and Shizuka finished off the other rabbits, and there was nothing else here for me to eat. "We could head further in... Though should we?" We now had the hounds, and I didn't want to 'tame' them only to lose them a minute later.
Saya and Shizuka started thinking about it, Saya even started checking her satchels, then nodded. "I've got enough funds without taking some from the egg. I could always just come down later on my own too." True.
We turned to Shizuka, and she just shrugged. "I don't mind."
"Alright then. Looks like we're heading up with some new additions." My girls hummed, and went over to the hounds. Said hounds sniffed them, and after they all got their scents, they let them touch them. Shizuka took a shine to them immediately, and Saya picked her own.
The one I scratched started following me around without me needing to say anything, and I just let him. I guessed he was mine now. But that was fine, I was a dog person before I became a Werewolf.
We walked back up, watching our hounds turn things like imps to ash, blasting the Bad Bats the moment they heard them, and even taking down an orc. They were good dogs.
We had just gotten up to the 6th floor when Shizuka went 'huh.' "Silver?" Saya and I looked at Shizuka. "What do we name them?" Ah. That was a good question.
I looked at the hounds, who were in formation, and thought about that. I sucked at naming things, so I usually left it to others. A technique that worked here. "How about we name the ones we're keeping, and let the others name the one they want." Shizuka hummed, then started scratching the ears of the female she picked.
"Then I'm naming her Mari." I didn't get if there was supposed to be a reference to something or one with that, so I just nodded. That was fine by me.
"Then I'll name mine Cinder." I snorted. "Wha... OH... Eh, fuck it." Now I was laughing. The fact she unintentionally named her hound, which WAS female, Cinder, was great. The fact she remembered Cinder from RWBY after the fact, and still chose to name her that, was too much for me.
I just got it all out of my system as we kept going up the floors, and only stopped when we made it back up to the surface. We ignored the murmuring from the other adventurers, and walked out of the dungeon with our hounds following us.
Though we didn't get far. Before we made it to the guild to cash in the egg and other stones, we were interrupted by Ganesha familia guards, again. They had a good reason this time, I knew it, but it was still annoying.
After we entered and cashed in our hauls, we were 'escorted' to a private room in the guild. From there, we had to sign forms that made us liable for anyone or thing our hounds hurt/killed/destroyed. I was interested in the fact these people weren't freaking out more, but then I learned about the Ganesha familia's whole 'tamer' thing, and got why.
Apparently, they had been legally allowed to bring up monsters to not only tame, but use in their festival. They've been going at that for a few years, and people are slowly getting used to monsters being tamed. Though people haven't seen them come up with a whole pack of hounds before, so new record for me and all that. A part of my mind thought about the Xenos, and how that whole thing would be affected by this, before I was distracted by something else. And I was pissed at it.
We had to pay ANOTHER FUCKING FINE for our hounds. 50k EACH! FUCKING CAPITALISM! I was so close to losing my shit at the damned guild attendant, that wasn't Eina, for the stupid fine. If it weren't for Saya and Shizuka, I would've mauled the fucker. Though I settled down and only growled at him. After we exchanged the egg for Valis, I paid the damn fine.
Thanks to that, and with my debt to Aisha, we were down to almost half. Thankfully, there wasn't a tax, and that Saya decided her haul was enough for her. We kept the rest. But still! "Oh quit your whining, you can go get some more later!"
"Oh come on ceann beag! There's no way you're telling me that's NOT bullshit!" Saya rolled her eyes, but didn't deny it.
"Partially. But YOU were the one who decided to just suddenly tame a pack of literal Hellhounds. You only have yourself to blame." She was right. I knew it. Shizuka knew it, but decided to stay out of this conversation, bless her.
But at the same time. "That'd be good criticism, if you WEREN'T riding on a Hellhound's back." Shizuka was too, but she was happily hugging her hound, just looking like she was in bliss.
"Just because I'm taking advantage of your impulsive actions doesn't mean I can't criticize you about them." I scoffed at that, but just kept walking. People were giving us enough space that I didn't have to worry about one of the hounds going mental if someone brushed up against them. "Besides." She started scratching Cinder's ears, much to the enjoyment of the hound. "They ARE pretty nice. Who wouldn't want a fire breathing dog?" I snorted, and we walked on.
"Silver?" We looked to Shizuka, who was just now looking at ALL the hounds. "What do we do with the extra one?"
I shrugged. "I'll give her to Bell. He gets a companion, who can breathe fire, and I can also train them together." Saya and Shizuka hummed at that. It was a good plan too. Which I did NOT come up with right that second. I'd swear it on my grave.
I didn't have one to swear on, in this reality, but it's the thought that counts.
Anyway, we kept on going, and eventually, Saya split off to go to Athena's library. Part of my mind was interested in how said goddess would react to Saya riding on a Hellhound... Going to a library... "Huh... I might not have thought that through." Shizuka hummed, the 'what?' Hum, and I looked in the direction Saya went. "I gave a fire breathing dog to someone that's going to live in a library."
"Ah... She'll be fine... Yeah. Fine... The books, not so fine." I rolled my eyes at that, and kept going.
Though that did make me think. Saya said she was going to crash with Athena, Shizuka and I were going to stay with Hestia and Bell. Then there were Saeko and Rika. I had no idea if Rika was going to crash at Loki's, or drop in on us. Saeko would probably come over though, so that was the most likely thing she'd do.
Speaking of them though. I turned to the hounds, the ones I was going to give to Saeko and Rika, and ramped up my aura's ability. They snapped to attention, and I nodded. "Alright you two, you're going to go meet your new owners." I made four aura wolves to protect them and guide 'em to them. "Follow them and don't stray." They sniffed my wolves for a second, then barked. I got the message, then sent them off. They went along like the good doggos they were, and we moved on.
Did I think this MIGHT incite a small panic when people see Hellhounds running with aura wolves? Yes. Did I care? Not unless they died. I mean, sure I liked them, but I wasn't attached to them yet. That could come later... (Can they fine me for this? They fucking better not.)
Potential hound deaths and fines aside, I kept going, scratching the ears of my hound... "Huh... I never named you." My hound just looked up at me, and blinked. I had no idea if he understood me, or if my aura's ability translated what I said to him, but he just started staring at me. It was sorta creepy in my opinion. "Well... You're a fire breathing dog... So I'm just going to call you Houndoom." It was brilliant.
Apparently someone didn't think so. "Arcanine." Huh?
I looked at Shizuka, and I just stared at her. "Mo grá, no."
She just gave me her 'innocent' look, and kept her eyes on my hound. "Arcanine."
"Houndoom. It's a Hellhound."
"Arcanine. They're fluffy."
"Again, HELLhound. They have black fur!"
"Arcanine." I threw my hands in the air. WHY?!
"HOUNDOOM!"
"Ok."
"Ho...-" I blinked, and just looked at Shizuka. Her lips were twitching, and at my gaze, she just settled on turning into a giggling mess. "You're lucky I love you." That made her laugh even more, and I decided to leave it be. She was picking up on the subtle ways to fuck with people. I was more direct, like my purposeful teasing of Hestia. Then there's Shizuka. One minute she's an airhead, the next she's plotting how to make you look like an idiot.
I liked it and disliked it at the same time.
I only disliked it when it was used on me. Used on other people though, and it was hilarious as shit.
Anyway, I turned back to my hound, that had kept his stare, and I nodded. "From now on, you're Houndoom." He blinked, then just barked at me. He was fine with it. Shizuka just kept giggling in the background, but that was what it was.
We kept going, and eventually made it back to the church. After opening the door, I saw the wolves I left by my luggage, still guarding them looking just as I left them. I nodded, then dismissed them.
Walking into the church, nothing seemed different, and that was good.
What was also good was that I could smell and hear that Bell was here. I was about to say something about the hounds, but then I just grinned. "KID! Come on up real quick!"
Not even a second later. "COMING!" Good kid.
Bell started running over, and the moment he stepped into the room, I saw him freeze. The hounds looked at him, he looked back, and I had to keep myself from laughing at how fast the blood drained from his face. I needed to do more, and I did.
I tapped the hound I planned to give him, an unnamed girl because I found it funny to give him another girl for the race, and she walked over to him. "Sooo. Meet your new partner." Bell's gaze never left the hound, and when she was right in front of him, she sat on her haunches, and just stared at him. They entered a staring contest, and then Bell slowly and mechanically moved his head to look at me.
"S-S-Sir... Is... Is that? I-... Help?" I lost it. I started laughing my ass off, and Bell just started looking at his hound again. It was hilarious. Bell didn't think it was funny, but eh, he was fineee.
It only got better when his hound started to sniff and circle him. At that point, Bell was staring at me like he was praying to me to save his life. I let out another laugh, and decided to help him out. "Alright girl, you can stop scaring him now." The hound turned to me, blinked, and just gave me a nod as she laid by his side. Bell breathed a sigh of relief, and just kept staring at the hound. "By the way, you're naming her. She's going to be YOUR partner after all." Bell just gave me an uncertain look, but nodded nonetheless.
With that done, I walked over to the couch, and was about to sit down, when I had a thought. "By the way. Where's Hestia? We got some good news."
Bell didn't tear his eyes from the hound, but still answered. "G-Goddess went drinking with Lady Loki and Lady Athena." Ah...
"Without us? For shame!" Shizuka giggled at that, but I just huffed. "I mean, come on! Who goes drinking without me?!" Bell just took his eyes off the hound, and stared at me. "What?"
"Nothing." An eye roll was all I gave him for that.
Though now it was just the three of us and our hounds... "Oh yeah." Looking back at Bell, he blinked. "How'd things go with Eina?" Bell blinked again, and I saw him start to fucking blush. (I WAS GONE FOR LIKE AN HOUR! WHAT THE FUCK?!)
He started shifting, then Shizuka and I just raised our brows at him. "W-well... Miss Eina gave me a lecture... A long one, and tomorrow I'm supposed to go back and take a loan for my equipment." He stopped blushing now, so that was good. "But it's a lot..." Hm?
"How much is it all?" Bell just groaned at that.
"30 thousand Valis for the beginning equipment." Oh.
"That's all?" Bell just looked at me like I was crazy. "What?"
"30 thousand Valis is a lot Mr. Maccillian! It'll take me weeks, maybe months to get that kind of money!" Shizuka and I shared a look, and I grinned.
"Hey Bell." He stared at me. "Ever heard of Jack Birds?" He shook his head. "Well they're these nice little things. Kinda like a rooster... You know what those are right?" A nod. "Well they're also really rare and hard to find things. But they have this REAL lucrative drop. Want to guess how much?" He started blinking, and eventually nodded his head. "1 million." The way his eyes widened and his jaw dropped was hilarious.
"Mi-mill-miiii...-" Oh... He passed out...
"Bell. Exe has crashed... Oh well." Shizuka just started humming, and went over to him. Seeing her crouch down, and start poking his cheeks was funny though. Even the hounds went over and started to sniff him. Bell's hound, who had yet to be named, just looked between me and Bell, and I could practically feel the uncertainty in her gaze.
I was once again not sure how smart these hounds were, but I guessed we'd find out over time.
We put Bell on the couch, and Shizuka and I just started looking around the church... After I made sure to tell the hounds that Bell wasn't food.
The church could use some work, we knew that, but at the same time... "Think we should find them a better place?" Shizuka started humming as we looked at it, and shrugged. "It's nice, and it feels like home. We don't NEED to find somewhere else... Maybe not yet... Hm..." Now she was starting to space out. But that was fine. Just meant more money for us to stash away.
Shizuka and I finished our once over of the church, then I heard her hum. Now I knew her, so I already had an idea about what she was going to say. "Want to clean it?" She hummed again, and I had my answer. "Welp... Let's see how long this takes." Shizuka cheered, and we got to work.
{Hestia's POV an hour later}
"Ugh... Should've said no. Dammit Loki whyyy?" I already knew I was going to be hungover in the morning. But if anything went wrong, I could just blame Loki.
The SECOND she heard the Rika woman was going to join her familia, she popped a bottle of wine out from SOMEWHERE, and gave me and Athena a glass. "Where'd... She even get glasses from? Ughhh..." Athena took a few sips, then just left the moment she saw the chance. The traitor! So it was me and Loki, just drinking to our children. Her kids, other then the Ais Wallenwhatzit, went back home to meet the new recruit, and now I was walking home with the worst headache in recent memory.
"Stupid Loki and her magical wine." I kept on grumbling as I walked, and turned the corner that led to my home. It was sort of bad that I was walking home on my own, but people could just tell a goddess from another person. And no one messed with us if we didn't deserve it.
I wasn't expecting anything different when I reached home, why would I? The church would've looked the same as it always had... But it didn't.
When I reached it, I had to stop. Whatever headache or result of the drinks immediately vanished when I laid my eyes on my home.
The moss that built up over the years of disuse was gone.
The outer walls shined with a silver tint like they were brand new. There weren't any cracks or falling bits either.
Even the glass looked brand new and shiny!
I could tell there were traces of Shizuka's magic in the air, so that explained where the moss went, but I just couldn't help but stare. I got used to my home looking a little worse for wear, but this... This just felt so much different.
It wasn't just the fact it was all clean. It was the atmosphere around my home that really hit me. I was used to coming home on my own, finding no one there. I was used to telling myself I'd have children join me eventually.
I was used to being a little lonely again.
But this...
When I took a few shaky steps towards it, the doors opened. And I saw Shizuka. She took a look at me, and she smiled brighter than I've ever seen anyone smile. "Hiii. Silveeer! She's home!" Then she grabbed me by the hand, and practically yanked me into the church.
The interior looked cleaner too, the walls didn't have any cracks anymore, and even the floor looked brand new!
Then we got to the living room, and I saw them.
Maccillian was on the couch, showing Bell something on some weird glass thing. But when Shizuka came in, they both turned to me, and I could really feel it. "Welcome home lady Hestia." Bell, my first child.
"Hey Tiny... I'll let my annoyance at you drinking without me slide this time. Welcome home." And Maccillian, my second.
Hearing them say it finally did it. My heart felt like it was soaring, and I could feel the tears again. But just like earlier with Shizuka, these weren't sad tears or anything close to that.
"Yeah. I'm home." They were the happiest tears I think I could've ever shed.
[Omake - Why all the trouble? General POV of the guild]
The guild was a neutral organization.
In a time of gods and the existence of the dungeon, there needed to be an impartial group that made sure everything ran the right way, and ensured there wasn't chaos in the streets.
It was even doing fine for the years it had been established.
But that all changed when 5 pure blooded Werewolves registered to be adventurers. Now normally, that would be news in itself.
But considering all the information that was suddenly finding its way to the guild's ears, these Werewolves were going to give them more paperwork then probably entire familias.
The first day in, there was an altercation between their alpha and an Amazon. Pretty standard if it were to be looked at without much more context.
But when said Amazon was Level 4, and the man himself had just recently joined a familia, the guild went a little crazy. Suspicions about the man had immediately cropped up by the dozens. Who was he? Where did he come from? Was he really over 2,000 years old?
And that last bit of information! The guild had no records of a Werewolf living that long. Add the information that he had been without falna till that very day, and there were mysteries and theories coming left right and center.
Then there were the Hellhounds. The PACK of Hellhounds. The guild was getting used to tamers bringing up monsters to register, but this was different. Monsters were usually caged, subdued, and guarded with other members of the familia or party.
Not walking side by side, with people riding on their backs!
AND THEN came the Jack Bird egg. Jack Birds respawned once a month after their capture. But the last capture had been months ago! Jack Birds had the ability to sense people from the other side of the floor. Give them small tunnels to escape into, and they became one of the hardest monsters to capture.
Well it seemed no one had told THEM!
At least they were fined. No one escaped the fines.
But the paperwork that would no doubt come with the newest residents of Orario became a topic of trepidation among all the guild attendants and workers.
