After frightening a group of innocent civilians into submission with his theatrics, Loki began a series of over-the-top declarations. In a posture of superiority, he found immense satisfaction for his fragile ego.
Once again on Earth, he finally found the sense of superiority befitting a god!
Loki felt he had reached the pinnacle of his life, feeling a climax in his existence!
How exhilarating! Just then, an elderly man with white hair stood up from the ground and righteously refuted Loki's absurd statements.
What kind of person was Loki?
Was he the kind of man who faced outwards in an outhouse...? Disturbed in his moment of absurdity, Loki became haughty.
"How dare you interrupt the grandeur of the great mischievous god? Do you think just because you're an old man with white hair, you are the will of the world?" He raised his scepter embedded with the Mind Stone, slowly pointing it at the old man who dared to offend him: "Look at this old man; he is your example."
As he spoke, blue energy gathered at the end of the scepter, ready to unleash.
He was about to use the life of this innocent old man to prove his godliness to everyone! The majesty of a god should not be offended, or else they would face divine retribution! Without any hesitation or consideration, Loki launched a deadly energy blast at the innocent old man.
However...
Just as the energy beam was about to leave his scepter, a robust man dressed in a Star-Spangled uniform suddenly descended from the sky. He placed a similarly designed round shield in front of him, just in time to save the innocent old man.
"Whoosh!"
The energy blast shot out from Loki's scepter.
"Ding!"
The energy blast hit the shield and was reflected back.
"Boom!"
Loki was knocked to the ground by his own energy blast.
After saving the old man, Captain America slowly approached Loki, saying, "I remember the last time I was in Germany, someone else tried to place themselves above everyone else, and they were taken down."
"A mere soldier?" Loki got up from the ground with a scornful laugh, "I didn't expect the first opponent I'd encounter on Earth this time to be someone so outdated."
Loki had only intended to kill the old man and didn't plan to involve others, so the power of the energy blast wasn't very strong. It was more than enough to kill a regular person, but when it hit Loki, who had the physique of a Frost Giant, it only caused him a bit of pain, nothing more.
Relying on the robust defense and recovery abilities of a Frost Giant, Loki had fully recovered from the attack just in the time they spoke.
Having learned his lesson from his previous defeat on Earth, he had already controlled some people with the Mind Stone and learned much about Earth's powerful beings.
Captain America was undoubtedly one of Earth's strong, but he was within Loki's ability to handle.
Hmm...
Or rather, as long as it wasn't Clark, Loki felt assured.
Seeing Loki's unrepentant brat attitude, Captain America countered, "The outdated one isn't me."
As if to confirm his words, a S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet revealed itself from stealth mode. The attached Gatling guns aimed at Loki, and a mechanical voice said, "Loki, you are surrounded. Lay down your weapons and surrender!"
As an extraterrestrial invader, Loki certainly didn't consider a single Quinjet a threat. With a wave of his scepter, he shot an energy beam at the Quinjet, which was nimbly dodged by the pilot.
The pilot was Natasha, a top agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. with top-level capabilities, including flying a plane.
Seeing Loki attack, Captain America immediately rushed forward with his shield, launching a fierce assault.
When Loki was knocked down by his own energy blast, his three clones also disappeared. The surrounding civilians, seeing someone standing up to Loki, chose to flee strategically to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.
Although lacking courage, they spared Captain America a lot of trouble.
In fact, in such a battle, even fully armed soldiers would only add chaos to Captain America's efforts.
The two sides clashed, and Captain America's two years of training showed its results.
In the movies, even after being transformed by the super-soldier serum, Captain America was no match for Loki, almost always being overpowered and only able to hold his own with his shield that could deflect all physical attacks.
However, this time, although the battle was still evenly matched, Captain America, with his enhanced physique, was clearly having the upper hand, making Loki doubt his own combat abilities.
But an even match was just the beginning, not the end.
Don't forget, Steve Rogers' nickname is Captain America! What does it mean to be a captain?
A leader of a team is called a captain!
And if there's a captain, there must be team members!
As Captain America engaged Loki, seven more figures descended from the sky, forming a formation with him, taking positions to the east, west, south, north, southeast, northeast, southwest, and northwest of Loki, encircling the Asgardian prince.
Following Captain America, the others were:
Kick-Ass, Captain America's disciple;
Captain America's teammates, the couple Luke Cage and Jessica Jones;
The newest Ant-Man and his guide, the second Wasp;
Hawkeye Clint, wielding a black sword with a menacing aura;
And...
Mindy, dressed in her Queen's Knight armor and holding an energy spear, ready to fight!
Eight masters joined forces, eagerly eyeing Loki, ready to test their skills against an extraterrestrial.
Seeing such a lineup, Loki felt overwhelmed.
But, maintaining his cunning god demeanor, he chose a verbal escape: "So many of you against me, interesting. But you are all Earth's superheroes, surely you won't gang up on me?"
Pointing his scepter at the Avengers, Loki arrogantly said, "In a one-on-one fight, I'm not targeting anyone specifically, but all of you are just ants to me!"
Hearing Loki's taunts, the Avengers looked at Captain America. Without Clark there, he was the leader, and they all respected this war hero.
Under everyone's gaze, Captain America said with righteousness, "Having been in contact with Clark for so long, I don't agree with all his views, but there is one thing I think he's right about."
Pointing at Loki, who was trying to provoke them into fighting him one-on-one, Captain America said, "There's no need for chivalry against a villain trying to destroy Earth. Everyone, let's take him down together!"
The battle resumed, with the sides being...
Loki VS Captain America + Hawkeye + Kick-Ass + Luke Cage + Jessica Jones + Ant-Man + Wasp + Iron Widow! The outcome of the battle was quickly decided without any suspense. According to the universal principle that good always triumphs over evil (and strength in numbers), Loki was soon subdued and rubbed on the ground repeatedly by the Avengers.
This was even with the Avengers holding back.
In fact, to capture Loki, the idle Avengers deployed two squads, totaling ten people!
However, considering Loki's strength wasn't too formidable, Black Widow and Yilong stayed on the Quinjet and didn't join the ground fight. Otherwise, Loki would have faced one against ten.
Loki: ε(┬┬﹏┬┬)3 Seeing the Earth-invading villain completely beaten and giving up resistance, the Avengers finally stopped and looked down at Loki lying on the ground.
The Avengers' condescending gaze once again wounded Loki's fragile ego. The childish god stood up again, roaring, "Enough! You despicable mortals, I am a god! You..."
Before Loki could finish, Mindy, beside Captain America, intervened, "It seems the enemy hasn't lost the will to fight; he's still shouting quite energetically."
Captain America nodded in agreement, "Not smooth enough, keep going."
After another round of beating, Loki completely lost the will to resist. He lay on the ground, looking up at the stars, like a salted fish in a pizza.
Looking at the desolate Loki on the ground, as if he had just been roughed up by a dozen men, all eight Avengers showed disdain, saying in unison, "Poor god!"
Loki wanted to cry, but the pride of a god wouldn't allow him to shed tears in front of mortals.
He couldn't show his weakness in front of mortals, absolutely not!
The "Learning to Meow" BGM had long ended, and the empty plaza was filled with another BGM, solemn and reverent, as if countless devout believers were singing a hymn of praise.
The music of "Ritual" started, and Loki's body shivered suddenly. He instinctively hugged his shoulders, curling up in terror, looking towards a figure slowly descending from the sky.
Why did you come so late? If you had appeared earlier, I would have surrendered obediently. Did I need to be beaten so badly? Seeing Clark, his most fearsome enemy, Loki felt incredibly wronged, and the tears of a god finally slid down from his eyes.
Seeing Loki thoroughly beaten, Clark commended the Avengers' performance, "Good job, everyone. Take him back for Natasha to interrogate."
"Our mission is accomplished, retreat!"
