New sword

"I never wanted to admit it but I was on the edge of the last. The abuse was becoming worse as time went on even when I did everything they asked of me, I always asked myself what I did to deserve that type of treatment. It didn't take long for me to get my answer, it was because I was weak." The girl said as a depressing air fell on her even with that smile.

Still, it went away as quickly as it came. "Then I met you, you thought I was useful and took me in instead of killing or leaving me. Unlike what you think I consider that kind, even if you thought of me as just a tool to be used."

"I promise to follow and serve you until my last breath, even if I come to regret it in the end."

Her resolve slightly took Shin back, her words were heavy and he was sure she meant every word, still, he would only believe her with results.

Shin let out a sigh before grabbing the girl off of the headless demon's shoulders and patting her head.

Tsuzu's eyes widened as she felt his hand on her head. 'It's cold, but I like it.'

After a moment Shin put her down. "Makomo, Susamaru, clean and help her settle in after putting the bodies somewhere. I have to talk with the demon at the door."

The girls nodded then walked past Kokushibo into the house. Kokushibo took a look at the new faces walking past him before turning back to Shin.

Shin moved towards his relative who was intently looking at him.

"Show me your sword." He got straight to the point demanding to see the state of Shin's sword.

Shin slightly flinched and took his scabbard from his hip. "Here you go."

"No, unsheathe it." Kobushibo's gaze seemed as if it was peering into his soul.

Shin tried to remain calm and unsheathed his sword. The moment the blade left its scabbard or what was left of it became visible Kokushibo vanished.

*Crack!*

He appeared in front of Shin and broke his leg on the spot. His movements were too fast to see but Shin could tell he only put enough strength into the hit to break his leg, nothing more.

But the cracking sound was so loud that the girl's heard it from inside and felt a chill go down their spine.

'I'm sorry master.' Makomo thought hearing Shin's leg break, she continued her walk upstairs with the other two demons.

Shin held back his yells and only clenched his teeth. His leg instantly healed along with the pain disappearing.

"I told you I would break one of your limbs if your sword ever broke didn't I?" Kokushibo's voice was calm yet full of seriousness as he scolded his descendent.

Shin didn't know what he was feeling, he assumed it was the same as being caught doing something wrong by your parents. "Mn, I didn't think it would break from his threads."

"Right, you took Rui's spot as lower rank five. Congratulations on becoming a kizuki, you might be the first demon to become one so young." Kokushibo's expressionless look didn't change yet he placed his hand on Shin's head.

Unlike Tanjuro, Kokushibo's touch was bearable. "Thank you."

Kokushibo removed his hand after a couple of minutes and let out a sigh. "I wanted to teach you this once you've gained your blood demon art but I guess it couldn't be helped, let's go inside."

Shin nodded his head and opened the door for Kokushibo to walk in. The moment he did so he began to look around.

Shin closed the door when he was inside. He saw Kokushibo was already sitting at a table waiting for him to come over so he did just that, once he reached the table he sat across from him.

Kokushibo suddenly pulled out an uncolored nichirin sword and placed it on the table. "Take it so we can begin."

"Mn." Shin took the sword then unsheathed it. The scabbard was longer than his old one and so was the blade, like the first time, the sword began to turn white starting from its guard.

"This part of the process will be painful, understand?" Kokushibo asked, seeing the sword finished changing color.

"Understood."

"Cut off a couple of chunks of your flesh and take out your eyes until there are thirty four eyeballs on the table." If anyone else was there listening they would have thought he was trying to kill them or it was a sick joke.

Still, Shin began to do what he was told, it would've been a lie to say he wasn't curious why he needed to do either of those things.

Doing so the first time he discovered he was developing some sort of pain resistance, he thought pulling out his eyes and cutting off chunks of flesh would hurt more than it was at the moment.

He was able to complete this task quite quickly since he had 3 rows of eyes and they grew back almost immediately each time.

Kokushibo noticed that Shin had an exceptional regeneration speed. It was too fast for a demon of his strength and would only become faster by him getting stronger.

After his eyes grew back he could see that the area around him was quite bloody. Kokushibo made a sound of approval seeing that Shin was done.

"Now mold the flesh and eyes into the katana until it looks like this." Kokushibo said unsheathing his sword then placing it on the table.

Shin took a look at his relative's sword before taking his new nichirin and flesh. He pressed the flesh onto the blade and began to use a useful ability demons had, flesh manipulation.

The flesh started to mold into the blade, he proceeded to do the same thing into the guard and handle of his sword. He then grabbed 13 eyeballs then molded 10 down the handle and 3 in the guard.

When he finished he took 12 more and molded them along the blade. He looked at the other eyeballs sitting on the table slightly confused.

Kokushibo decided to guide Shin through the next steps. "Grab the blade and try using flesh manipulation on it."

Shin grabbed the sword and used the ability, when he did so it felt as if he was using it on a part of his own body. The blade grew longer and 3 extra blades branched off from it with a curve.

He didn't need to be told what to do next, he took the rest of the eyes and molded 2 in the lowest blade, 3 in the middle blade, and 4 in the highest. He used manipulation to revert the blade to its original demonic form after.

"Now for the last step, pour your blood into the sword." Kokushibo took his sword off the table and put it back in its scabbard.

'Put it in the sword?' Shin was slightly confused hearing that but an idea didn't take long to come to mind.

He hovered his arm over the blade before making a deep cut on it with his claws, blood began to pour allowing Shin to cover the entirety of the weapon.

Not long after the blood on the sword started to get sucked into it and veins began to grow within it that was visible from the outside. He felt if he focused enough on it he would be able to see through the eyes that were molded into the weapon.

Kokushibo then helped Shin do the same for the scabbard. By the end of it, the nichirin sword was heavily demonically modified.

The blade was fleshy white with a black edge and veins on it, the handle had a pale yellow color as well. Unlike Shin's eyes, the eyes on the blade had a gray sclera and pitch black cat-like pupils.

The scabbard was a fleshy white as well with the same eyes running along it while the opening where the sword went in had a black ring.

"Since that sword is made of your flesh and blood it'll become sharper and more powerful every time you get stronger. If you somehow manage to break it, your leg won't be the only thing that gets broken." Kokushibo didn't try to hide his threat a bit.

"Now that I did what I came here for, I'm leaving." Kokushibo stood up saying this and left out the door.

Mm yes new sword.
