Why had she agreed to brunch with her parents? Delaney didn't want to go. She'd been awake most of the night crying. Oh and hiding the reason for Sean's absence from Val. Because if she admitted that they broke up, Val would want to know why, and no way in hell was Delaney sharing those hurtful suspicions. So she'd told her aunt he had to be up and out early for work. Not a lie. He was making up for some time off by working Saturday. She'd seen it on his work schedule, which was among the stuff he'd left behind. She was exhausted and tender and didn't relish getting all that back to him. Maybe she could get someone to drop it off for her so she didn't have to see him.
