The first thing Marissa did when she stepped on the lawn of her aunt's house was run to the garden at the back. There was a big tree and a swing was hanging on its sturdy branch.
"Come in first!" Her aunt, Winter Lang shouted from the back door of the house.
Marissa grinned, "Just for a minute!" She replied.
Winter turned and smiled at her older sister. "What's wrong? Why did you bring her back? Did something happen?" She recalled how her sister rushed back to the city after she read the news. Winter did want to send her back, but she insisted on riding a bus and just called Micky to pick her up at the bus station.
Wanda threw a look at her daughter who was sitting on the swing like a little kid. She didn't really understand how Marissa could look that calm. This morning when they read the news, Marissa didn't show any big reaction. She just said there must be a misunderstanding and just brushed away the news that she just heard.
