First Day

Veer told me that Nikhil has visited his hospital and met him. I asked him, "Why did he come to your hospital?" He said, "I was in my rounds, then a nurse came to me and said that Mr. Ahuja is waiting for me in my cabin. I was very shocked after knowing that Nikhil has come to meet me. I went to my cabin to see why he has come for me."

Flashback

In Veer's Cabin:

Veer: Hello Mr. Ahuja, what made you to come here?

Nikhil: Hello Veer, How are you?

Veer: By god's grace I'm fine Mr. Ahuja. But you still didn't tell me why you are here?

Nikhil: I'm here to apologize you for my rude behaviour back in Mumbai.

Veer: You don't need to Mr. Ahuja. But what made you realize that you behaved rudely with me?

Nikhil: I'll not beat around the bush, Dhrithi is not talking to me since that incident and she started avoiding me from then. Today when I confronted her, she made me realize that I behaved rudely with you.

Veer:Oh, now I get it. Since, Dhrithi is not talking to you, you came here to apologize so that I'll convince her to talk to you.

Nikhil: Not exactly, I just wanted her to know that I realized my mistake and the rest is her wish.

Veer: If you don't mind can I say something?

Nikhil: Yeah sure

Veer: Actually I got angry the way you behaved with me the other day but I understand why you behaved like that. So, I didn't hold against you. But I can say one thing, Dhrithi is very important to me and I'd do anything for her and the same goes with her also. She cannot tolerate any kind of misbehavior with me. But I'm sure she'll come around and talk to you, just give her some time.

Nikhil: I didn't know that you were so important to her until today.

Veer: Since we were five, it was only us together. We don't need anyone and we were happy like that. We didn't make any friends, even if we had we never allowed anyone in our space. That is why she did so much to come to Mumbai. Like I said, she never made friends, but you became her friend easily that explains how you're special to her. So, I didn't want to be an obstacle for her. To make it easy for her, I tried to start fresh with you.

Nikhil: It was so easy for you to start things freshly but I guess I needed time.

Veer: No, it wasn't easy for me too. But like I said, I'll do anything for her. Don't worry I'll talk to her but just keep one thing in your mind never do something which may put her in dilemma.

Nikhil: Yeah sure, I think it's time for me to leave.

Veer: Okay, see you Mr. Ahuja

Nikhil: It's Nikhil for you. We can start fresh like you said and that will happen when you start calling me Nikhil.

Veer: Bye Nikhil, see you.

Flashback ends

After hearing what happened, I had a mixed emotion. I don't know what to do. As if understanding me Veer said, "Misti don't think too much, do whatever you feel is right. But remember one thing, just like I said to Nikhil, it was just two of us till now, so it takes time for others to understand our dynamics."

I just nodded my head and he kissed on my forehead. And then he said, "Okay, let's talk about something else"

I smiled and said, "Okay tell me when is uncle coming back?"

He said, "He is coming tomorrow. As the deal was success he said to invite you all for dinner, so that we can celebrate it in our house. Just us, family members."

I replied, "Oh that's great, let's party tomorrow. And like I said, don't tell uncle that I'm joining from tomorrow. Let it be a surprise for him"

He said, "Yeah right"

And we sat there talking for a while, then mom called us for evening snacks. Veer invited Mom and Dad for dinner. Then we spoke for a while and then had dinner together. Papa asked Veer to stay but he said he has some work and left. After going to my room, I thought for a while and then texted Nikhil, "I'm sorry, I need time to figure out things. Don't feel offended, I myself will text you when I'm ok, just give me some time. Bye"

Immediately he replied, "It's okay, I understand. Don't stress yourself and take care"

I smiled and went to sleep.

I woke up early as I'm going to join office today. I got ready and went to office. Manager showed me the office, I made two friends. As, it was my first day, they didn't allot me a cabin, manager asked me to stay in the cabin of uncle's assistant for time being. And by the end of the week, he said, he'll arrange me a cabin. Our Senior designer was little hard to please, she told me to design for an upcoming project. I designed and showed it to her and she was impressed. Over all, my first day in the office was good.

Then after coming home, we got ready and went to Veer's house. It's been very long since we all gathered and had some fun. We all spent some quality time and then we came back home.

I woke up and got ready and went to office. Today will be fun when uncle comes to know that I joined his company and I'll be assisting him for a week. On my way to office, I stopped near a flower shop to buy orchids for uncle, as he likes them very much.

I went to uncle's cabin and set the flowers on his table and left a note, "Congratulations Mr. Singh on your new project" and went to my cabin.

After sometime, I heard his voice and understood that he has come. I waited till he goes to his cabin.

Right after 2 minutes my intercom rang, I answered the call and I heard him saying, "To my cabin, now" and cut the call. I went to his cabin and knocked his door and entered when he said Come in.

He looked at me to say something and stood frozen seeing me. I said, "Good morning sir, how can I help you?" He smiled at me and said, "Good morning beta, but what are you doing here in the morning and why are you calling me sir?"

I smiled cheekily and said, "That's because I'm going to assist you for 1 week as your P.A is on leave."

He was very shocked after hearing me, I continued, "I joined this company yesterday as junior designer, your manager asked me to assist you for 1 week. Will that be okay for you?"

He smiled and said, "Definitely. I'm lucky to have you here. But why this company, you can join yours too."

I smiled and said, "Yes, I can join ours too, but I want to learn, gain some experience before joining our company. So, I decided to work in any other company for six months, but Veer asked me to join this. So, I gave interview and got selected."

He replied, "Now, I understood how your father allowed you to join this company instead of his. Welcome to the company beta, I know you're capable of doing great things. Enjoy, till you're here. Once you join your company you'll not get any time for yourself."

I smiled at him for his kind words and then said, "But I've a condition. Don't tell anyone that we know each other, I want our relation should be professional in office."

He smiled and said, "Sure"

I said, "Now tell me why you called me Sir"

He smiled and said, "I wanted to know who kept this flowers here Miss. Saxena"

I said, "Some girl named Dhrithi, put it there on your table saying that you like these flowers alot"

He replied, "That girl surely knows what I like. I appreciate her effort for bringing flowers for me. That girl made me happy twice today, so I'd like to give her a gift. Tell her to come home in the evening along with the stupid friend of hers."

I whined, "Uncle Veer is not stupid."

He smiled and said, "Okay let's not go there, but seriously come home tonight for Dinner. I'll inform Veer to pick you."

I smiled and said, "sure"

He then said, "Now tell me my schedule for today Miss. Saxena."

I briefed him about his schedule, He need to attend a meeting with Mehtas after half an hour. I need to arrange the conference room for them, so I left to do my job.

Meeting with Mehta's ended after 2 hours. We had our lunch and then we had a meeting at The Park hotel. We left for the meeting, actually it was a tender for an upcoming project. They'll select two companies and they'll be working jointly on that project. After reaching there, uncle said, "Beta as it is a tender, all the companies will be there inside. So, they might identify you. So, to avoid unnecesary attention you go home. And, any way I'll be free after this meeting, so you can go." I nodded my head, uncle asked the driver to drop me home and come back.
