Daises for new start

I got ready and was waiting for Veer to come and pick me, so that we can go to their house for dinner. After 5 minutes Veer has come and we both went to his house. As soon as we reached, we saw uncle waiting for us in the living room. When he saw us he opened his arms for us to hug, we both hugged him. When we came out of the hug, I asked him, "Uncle what makes you so happy today?"

He replies, "I think my day has gotten lucky when I saw you in the morning in my cabin. You know we got the tender, we are going to work with the Ahuja group on this project" I was happy when uncle told me that we got the tender but my face got paled when I heard Ahuja group, it reminded me of a certain Ahuja. I tried not to show my displeasure on my face and said, "That's great uncle, indeed a good news" Veer said, "Congratulations Papa, I'm very happy for you."

Uncle gestured us to sit, we sat there on the couch. Then uncle said, "From tomorrow we're going to start working on this project. Beta arrange a cabin for Nikhil Ahuja, as he'll be coming to our office. And coming to your gift, I brought something for you" he forwarded a box to me. When I opened the box, I found a beautiful designer watch in it. It's from the new edition that launched recently and I've been wanting to buy it lately. I stood and hugged him tightly and said, "Thanks uncle, I really loved it." He patted my back and said, "It's good that you liked it, knowing your fantasy for watches, I thought this would be a great gift for you."

I smiled and Veer pouted and said, "But papa what's the gift for? and why am I not getting anything?" Uncle chuckled and said, "That gift is for bearing you" and Veer whined, "Papa"

Uncle said, "Okay, that's a welcome gift for joining our company and don't worry I've bought something for you too" and gave him a box fishing it out from his pocket. Veer opened the box, a beautiful platinum bracelet wan there in it. It was very lovely. Veer hugged uncled and said, "Thanks papa, but what was the need for it?"

Uncle smiled and said, "Of course, its needed. You went to Mumbai and handled everything there in my absence. I'm proud of you for taking it as your responsibility and fulfilling it successfully."

Yes, Veer definitly deserves it. Even I'm proud of him and lucky to have him as my bestfriend. Then we spoke for a while, Veer told uncle about the meetings I attended with him in Mumbai. We chitchatted for a while and then we had our dinner. After dinner Veer dropped me home.

I got freshened up, changed into my night dress and lied on my bed trying to get sleep. But certain Ahuja invaded my thoughts. Now that we are going to work together on the new project, we will have to meet often. And most importantly he'll be coming to office tomorrow, I don't know if I'm ready to meet him or not. With all these thoughts, I slept slowly.

Next day, I got ready and started for office. I bought yellow roses for uncle today, as yellow roses signifies exuberance and when I was about to leave, I remembered Veer. I bought daises for him, for a new start.

I arranged those yellow roses for uncle and then set a cabin for Nikhil beside Uncle's cabin and put those flowers on the table and left a note stating, "I think nothing can be better than daises for our new start"

I went to cabin and working on my laptop, then hearing voices I understood uncle has come. Everyone were congratulating him for the new project, and when I was sure he reached his cabin, I went to cafeteria to grab some coffee for him and then visited him. He was happy seeing those flowers and it doubled when I handed him his coffee. I told him that he need to see few files and then sign them. He has a meeting with Ahuja's at eleven and for that they'll be coming here. I told him the schedule for the rest of the day as well.

Before showing him the files I asked, "Sir, I designed few sketches for our upcoming project yesterday afternoon as I was free. Would you like to have a look at it?" he smiled and said, "I'd definitely want to look them instead of those boring files"

I smiled and placed my designs in front of him. I was very nervous that he would like it or not. Because, I know he's very serious at work and would never mix our personal relation with our professional life. I just wanted to make a good impression. He's expression was serious, I didn't understand what to decipher from his expressions. I asked him, "Uncle, I think they are not up to the mark, I'll try again" and tried to take them away but he held my hand and said, "No, they are beautiful and exquisite. I loved it. Today we're going to show these designs in the meeting. I'm sure Ahuja's are in for a surprise."

I smiled at his compliment and then he asked me, "But I've a doubt here. You said you designed it in the afternoon, but by then we didn't have the project in our hand." I cut him off from saying further and told, "I had a hunch that the project will be going to be ours. So, I designed it." He smiled at me and then I said, "Sir have a look at these files, I'll inform you when it's time for the meeting" He nodded at me and I placed the files on the table and left.

I arranged the room for meeting and then left to my cabin and started doing the work that was assigned by the head designer. When it was time, I informed the receptionist to bring them to the conference room where the meeting is going to be held. I went to Uncle's cabin to inform him about the meeting. When I reached uncle's cabin, he's landline rang. After speaking on the call, he said, "They're here and we should be going to the conference room." We went to the conference room and waited for them to come. Then the door got opened and Nikhil entered the cabin. He was looking handsome in the charcoal tux he was wearing. He still didn't look at me. He came forward and shaked his hands with uncle and said, "Congratulations for our new project" and uncle smiled and said, "Congratulations to you too my dear boy." And then Nikhil turned his head and stood rooted after seeing me. Observing his stare at me, uncle said, "She's Dhrithi Saxena, our Junior Designer as well as my temporary assistant. She joined just two days back, but I must say her designs are very beautiful and I'm sure you'll definitely like them."

He was very shocked after hearing uncle, he forwarded his hand to shake hands with me and I shook my hands nervously.

And then our meeting started, then discussed everything about how they're going to work and everything. At the end uncle said that he'd like to show them my designs. He asked me to display my designs, I was nervous as it's the first time I'm going to display my designs.

I showed them my designs and explained them everything. By their expressions I could tell, they did like my designs. And coming to Nikhil, he also liked them but he was too shocked. May be he didn't expect that much from me. They asked me few questions and I answered all of them. And then the meeting ended on a good note.

After meeting, Nikhil shaked hands with uncle and said, "Mr. Singh you have quite talented designers in your team and I really liked those designs" Uncle smiled at that compliment and said, "Yes, she's indeed very talented. She arranged a cabin for you beside mine, so that you can use whenever you're here. Let her show you your cabin."

I didn't know what to do, I just said, "This way Mr. Ahuja" and started moving towards his cabin. I was very nervous that now I'll be alone with him in his cabin. I don't know what will happen. We reached his cabin, I stood there waiting for him to enter. He entered the cabin and before I could enter the cabin. His assistant came to me and said, "Miss. Saxena, I need to discuss about the schedule for this week."

Nikhil turned back and looked at us, I saw him looking at me but I turned my face towards his assistant and said, "Sure, let us go to my cabin" I turned towards Nikhil and said, "Mr. Ahuja, I hope you like your new cabin, and if you want to change or want anything, you can call me on my intercom. I left the number on the table" and walked towards my cabin along with his assistant not waiting for his reply.
