Why Is My Group Chat So Broken?

Being reincarnated right after his death, our main character finds no respite and is instantly thrown back into life.   Thinking that this could be his chance to gain superpowers and reach for the stars, he greeted every day with determination, but as the reality of his situation set in, his hopes eventually shattered.   His days are spent with less and less emotion, as if slowly, over time, he became a robot, simply going through the motions. He felt no reason to truly live his second life if it was going to be an exact copy of his first.   That was until one day he saw a message... [Would you like to join the Custom Made Group Chat? [Rank: Truly Impossible]

I always joke about how the group chat may be trying to kill me, but this... I may have been right.

I felt my fist clench at the thought of dying to some shitty system that couldn't even do its job right.

'Well then, turn up that mission difficulty, because even something as shitty as you can't hold down a dragon!' I felt my dragon's pride swell at the thought.

[Noted. Hard mode is now available to be enabled during any mission.]

There was a hard mode?! What?

I almost slapped my forehead with how idiotic my dragon pride was. I swear, I need to lock that part of me away before I die because of it.

Now that I have to live in constant hard mode, I can finally check out the new feature of the group chat.

[*New*]

[Training Room]

[Description: The training room is a separate dimension where you can train for 24 hours while time in your world is stopped. This room can only be used for 24 hours once a week. It will give you everything and anything you need to train, and dying isn't possible in this room, so go crazy!]

It was exactly what I needed. A place where I can get my ass beat until I get better.

But first, I needed to shorten my hair. The second I got the racial change, it changed my hair color and length.

My hair was a bright gold, while the tips were pure white. Hair extending to the back just wasn't for me.

I knew I was able to mold my body. I just needed to figure out how. When angels are born, just like demons, they receive inheritance, but due to me not being born in heaven nor being able to hatch as a normal angel, I was not given inheritance.

I don't think most angels mold their bodies again after they're born. I shouldn't be the only one with this ability, but then again, who knows?

My eyes widened as my hair was already back to dark brown. I don't remember changing it.

'Blonde.' I thought as I looked at my now short hair.

My hair color instantly changed to blonde as a result. A smile came to my face as I quickly began changing the color of my hair before sticking to dark brown.

Molding my body as I see fit will be very helpful in the long run.

The only thing I have to do now is get in the training room and grind my heart out. I need to be absolutely ready when I make contact with Mikasa, even if that isn't her real name.

In reality, I need every second I can get. I can't relax anymore when I've got the end of the world crawling around in my mind.

I instantly entered the training room. There was no way in hell that I wasn't going to train until I was perfectly ready.

The training room was white everywhere. It was as if I were trapped in an impossibly massive white box.

As I took a breath, I noticed something. I could feel holy energy seeping into my body. It wasn't a lot, but if I could get the training room to generate it faster, then I might have a way to get stronger.

"Ddraig, it's time for that explanation." As I spoke, the boosted gear appeared on my left hand.

"Go on. I'm listening."

"I believe we are currently somewhere in the 'Custom-Made Demon King' multiverse. This multiverse houses demons, angels, nelphilim, dragons, gods, and more.

Think of a Christian god, who is actually all-powerful. This being is called 'The Creator' and is currently absent.

When the group chat forcibly gave you to me, it must have messed with your principles. Now you should have the Custom-Made Demon King's principle of domination.

Our enemy currently is an eldritch goddess, who has trapped me in a world in which she keeps resetting to live a dream. Whenever she goes to sleep, she generates realities, but because she's focused on me, even when the reality is gone, I'll always be revived.

I have no idea who or how I gained the group chat, as in my past lives I was stuck to dying over and over.

Our enemy is impossibly strong and may be impossible to beat, but I can't sit here and allow my pride to be trampled on like this!" I finished explaining as I almost began seething in rage. To think that a dragon as magnificent as I have been reduced to a creature's good dream!

"I must admit, I've never had a partner as unique as you. To catch the attention of a higher entity and plan their downfall? I have truly lucked out this time with partners.

We can assume Balance Breaker, Juggernaut Drive, Transfer, and Penetrate have been altered in some way due to this multiverse's laws. Even if only by a little, this group chat must have done something, going by what last happened to you."

Ddraig did make some good points. Unlike Issei with the evil pieces, I may be able to go further than he ever could.

"You're right, we may need-" I suddenly felt the holy energy get thicker, and I stopped speaking.

Something was wrong. Even though I was passively taking holy energy, I wasn't trying to absorb everything like a black hole.

Yet, somehow, the amount of holy energy in the training room jumped by around 20 times.

I looked around before my eyes widened, and I instantly turned around.

"Took you long enough, dragon brat."

The malevolence in the tone of voice was impossibly high. His smile wasn't full of happiness, but of the untold evil and suffering he was going to cause.

"Sukuna..." I whispered his name, as I didn't expect him to be here.

I blinked. Sukuna's left hand was already wrapped around my face. He was about to turn me into a paste by pressing the back of my head into the ground.

Instinctively, I acted, trying to get away. My vision turned black as I felt my body moving somewhere.

After deactivating the ability, I realized Sukuna was gone. 'No, he's not gone; I just moved away.' I thought as I realized I wasn't where I was before.

It was light shift. The ability turns me into light particles, and while in that form, I can't see, smell, or hear anything, but in exchange, I move at light speed.

I was currently in the middle of a street. I have no idea how that was possible since, technically, I was still inside the training room.

Moving at that speed felt like you were lying on a bed of clouds and weren't moving at all. It was extremely trippy.

Before I got the chance to check any of my abilities, one of the buildings next to me was sliced in half as Sukuna walked through the open parts.

He had some white chocolate in his hand and took a bite of it.

"Not bad," Sukuna said before his index and middle fingers extended together and he made a swiping motion.

I couldn't react as my leg was cut from my body. I fell to my knees as I lost balance.

"Yeah, fuck that!" I raised my right arm in the air. A white gauntlet with a blue gem appeared on my hand.

"Divide!"

The divide instantly hit Sukuna, causing him to almost trip over himself.

I felt so full; it was as if I could do anything with the power I took from Sukuna.

Holy energy began being violently pulled to my location, so much so that a normal person would be able to see the street that Sukuna and I were on full of bright, sparkling light.

"Angels are beings of light and good. However, the angels here are missing one thing that the angels from video games have... annoying healing spells that they can spam." As I spoke, golden light generated from my wound, and quickly my leg began regenerating.

[New Ability: Healing Light]

Sukuna looked at me with fascination. At least that's what I can get from that deranged smile of his.

"Do show me how far you can go. After all, it's no fun to beat someone who hasn't unlocked a third of their potential!" Sukuna screamed out as he launched his way in my direction.

He was slow. Slow isn't the word; he was reactable. I would have thought that taking half of his power would make me reach my limit, but dragons are the masters of physical prowess!

Jumping into the air and spreading my wings, I pulled back my right hand.

From the sky, a massive red lightning bolt flew downward. Sukuna looked up at me as I caught the lightning bolt and threw it directly at him.

He immediately dodged, jumping through a window of a tall skyscraper.

The bolt of lightning crashed into the pavement, and a wave of red electricity flowed through the street.

*CRASH*

Sukuna jumped through another window, directly at me. His arm was stretched out.

A slash appeared on my arm, followed by one on my face, and one on my chest. A rapid fire of dismantles hit me.

As I was pushed through a building due to the rapid fire of slashes, Sukuna chased after me.

Half of Sukuna's strength was gone, and because of that, his attacks did barely any damage to me, especially when I had half of his statistics.

I could always light shift away, but being unable to react to that speed, would just shoot me too far away to make any progress in a fight.

For now, all I would do is use healing light and my abilities to see if I could beat him.

Sukuna crashed through the building he had pushed me into. He jumped in the air with his fist raised above my head.

I raised my arms to block the attack, and as I did, I was sent through multiple floors of the building downward.

Sukuna tried to rush downward to continue his attack, but as he did, I raised my hand, holy energy gathering in my palm.

"Boost."

The holy energy grew as I focused my boost on it. Sukuna noticed the attack as his eyes grew wide and he tried to pull back, but a beam of pure holy energy blasted into him the second he moved.

Even though I had half of Sukuna's statistics, he was still only in his first form. I didn't get everything, only the suppressed numbers.

Rising out of the rubble of the building, I floated to the top of it.

At the top, I saw Sukuna standing there with a smile on his face.

"Let's see if you can survive this." Sukuna's smile turned into a frown as he brought both his palms together. "Domain expansion..."

My eyes widened. What could I do about this? I know I could use light shift to get away, but in a combat situation where I couldn't run, what would I do?

"Malevolent Shrine."

I felt the holy energy in my body, along with my dragon heart pumping mana through my body. My eyes closed as I moved my holy energy.

Angels are beings made of light; they're fully spiritual. The holy energy an angel is made of usually sits inside the center of the body.

'What if I brought my holy energy to the surface?' That was my thought process.

Bringing my holy energy to the surface and using my dragon heart's mana generation to turn that into holy energy, I made a light covering of holy energy around my skin.

It was the same principle as domain amplification.

[New Ability: Protecting Light]

The shrine was formed with Sukuna in it. The mouths of the shrine were wide open.

Then I was hit with it—a rapid fire of dismantles and cleaves. It was... weak.

"What?" Sukuna's eyes were wide.

There was a disk of holy energy forming around me as the sure-hit effect tried to turn my body into mush.

I would bring my holy energy to the surface to form a miniature wall against the slashes. When the slashes attacked, all the energy used to defend would be used or pushed outward.

My dragon heart would generate mana that I would convert into holy energy, allowing me to refill my defenses, while the energy ejected would circulate like an accretion disk and try to flow back into the defense, which only made me tougher.

I walked slowly forward through the air toward Sukuna. His domain meant nothing when he was half of what he should have been.

"How disappointing. To think I felt weak while being able to do so much." I spoke as the attacks Sukuna's shrine gave me did nothing to me.

Sukuna's teeth grated. The Malevolent Shrine stopped attacking.

"What a disgusting ability." Sukuna scoffed as he spoke. "Let's do it your way then."

Sukuna's fist clenched as I felt a pulling force. Before I could move away, I was pulled into Sukuna's fist as he punched forward.

I was slingshotted backward at high speeds through multiple buildings before stopping myself.

"Let's do this, Sukuna!" Black dragon horns appeared on my forehead as I spoke with arrogance.

(A/N: For those questioning why Sukuna is weak. Just look at what happened in the previous chapters.)
