Apathetic man

Today as usual Soham went towards his private room, with boys, before taking any classes.

"Soham we got a problem here!" Varun worriedly said. He got up from his seat and went towards Soham with few papers.

Soham raised his eyebrows with a questioning look, "What happened?" Though he was interested to listen but with Varun's expression his attention was grabbed.

Varun scooted the papers towards him "Someone uploaded an article about you getting harassed and threatened by Serene. With some photos of you being blurred but followed by a lawyer and then her photos of going inside the principal 's office where you were. They say that she is doing all this to get on your bed.

"There's one more thing I got to know about her" Bhumit interrupted Varun with new information which he didn't know either.

Soham narrowed his eyes with irritation in his body. His mind tells him to stop overthinking but his instinct tells him to ask. So he did "What?"

"Serene is actually an orphan. She doesn't have any family, that's why there was no information available about her parents or background. She lived in an orphanage in Chile till 14. 

We only got her last school name, where she was secluded by everyone because of this. She had never had any friends in middle school either. That's why we don't know anything about her."

Bhumit said in one breath. He badly wanted to kill that bitch who did that to Serene. He couldn't believe how someone can change the whole scenario against her. 

He wanted to meet Serene but he couldn't because he didn't want anyone to see them together and say bad words to her character for talking to both Soham and him, one of the popular people.

When Soham got to know her history, he was stunned to know that such a character is actually an orphan! He thought she must have some background to go against him but nothing and just orphan!

He turned towards Varun "Did you take down the article?"

"Someone already did!" Even without him telling, he knew that he shouldn't let some girl be disrespected this way. But before he could do anything, all articles were deleted except few with no relevance, just gossip.

Soham wasn't surprised by the speed of someone taking it down, he already knew that she is a hacker. It's a left hand game for her. 'She must have done that'

"Leave it then. We can't do anything about this matter anyway." 

Varun wasn't surprised with his nonemotional comment, but Bhumit was. He narrowed his eyes with confusion. He initially thought that Soham might have something for Serene but with this answer he is quite not sure. 

His behaviour was totally apathetic towards Serene which was quite annoying for him.

"But there's something more! I got the culprit, she is a fan. And the one who told her about our matter was one of our friends. Whom I already ask to leave. But still I think that she is suffering because of us." Varun pouted with discontent. 

He never wants an innocent girl like Serene to suffer because of someone's jealousy. And it was indirectly their fault. The one who told the culprit about their matter was their friend. Moreover the girl did all this because of them.

Soham frowned with self accusation by his friend. He doesn't find this all his fault at all. Whatever happened was her fault from the start. 

"Suffering? I don't think it's such a big deal. Why make such a fuss about me and her."

"Moreover I don't care who suffers or not. Leave me alone" He said and went out of their room.

"Why do we have such a indifferent man as our friend?" Varun asked seriously to Bhumit who was also angered by Soham behaviour.

At first he let his hope Soham decision, by thinking that he might have some soft corner for Serene after their kiss incident, but now totally opposites.

"Can't help. Let's hurry up we have few classes today. Especially our generic classes are going to start from today. We better hurry up before teacher mark us absent." Bhumit stated and went out too with his books.
