Chapter 31

Katlyn's (seer) POV

My mind raced, my thoughts swirling in a chaotic storm. How had Nat figured it out? I had been so careful, so guarded. The secrets she carried were buried deep, locked away beneath layers of deception and half-truths. And yet, here he was, casually flipping a tarot card, holding my darkest secrets in the palm of his hand.

"You're talking nonsense," I finally managed to say, my voice trembling despite my efforts to stay calm. "You don't know what you're saying."

"Oh, but I think I do," Nat replied, his smile widening as he continued to toy with the card. "You see, Katlyn, I’ve been watching you. Watching Marcus, too. It’s all starting to make sense now—the rituals, the strange disappearances, the way you both always seem to be one step ahead of everyone else."

My breath caught in my throat. I had to find a way to deflect, to throw him off the scent. But how? Nat was smart—too smart. I had underestimated him, and now he had me cornered.
