Training

Lee left the room, leaving Jin deep in thought. Jin wondered if it was a good thing and hoped he wouldn't miss any opportunities to learn new skills and talents. He ate his food, packed his things, and left the room. The hallway was long with many doors, but Jin saw an elevator at the end of it. He pressed the button and got in, selecting the ground floor. When the elevator door opened, Jin saw Myung standing outside. Jin left the elevator while Myung got in.

"Oi, kid. Here," Lee called out to Jin, and he approached Lee, who was with Cho and two other men.

"You may already know Cho, who was fighting you earlier. This is Ryu and Shin," Lee said, introducing the two men to Jin.

"Nice to meet you, Jin," Shin greeted him. Shin was the youngest, at only 18 years old, while Ryu was 20.

"Nice to meet you too," Jin said, smiling.

"I hope I can fight you soon. I want to try fighting someone like you," Shin said.

"Well, me too. May I know what martial arts you use?" Jin asked.

"You want to take my martial arts too? Well, sooner or later, you will have it anyway. My martial arts is jijutsu," Shin replied.

Jin nodded his head, and then he asked, "Who lives in the big mansion?"

"It's the boss's daughter. After his wife died, his daughter didn't want to leave Korea. So he bought this mansion and put the captain here to protect her. Then the captain recruited us," Lee explained.

"Recruited you?" Jin asked.

"Yes. Before we became a part of this, we were all homeless. Then the captain took us in and trained us," Lee said.

"How can all of you use different martial arts if only the captain trained you guys?" Jin asked.

"Pfft, don't underestimate the captain, kid. He was the boss's right-hand man. Before coming to Korea, he led all the mafia underbosses," Lee said.

Jin was excited to hear this. If he could fight the captain, he might be able to gain all of his skills and talents. Suddenly, Myung called out to Jin.

"Jin, the captain is calling you to his office," Myung said.

Jin nodded and said, "Well, guys, it's nice knowing you all."

All of them nodded, and Jin walked towards the elevator and got in. He pressed the 3rd-floor button.

After reaching the 3rd floor, Jin walked towards the captain's office and entered the room. He closed the door behind him.

"You may have already heard from Lee that you're going to be sent to America. But before that, you'll train here for a year before leaving," the captain said.

"Yes, sir," Jin replied.

"Your training will start tomorrow. Lee will guide you to the field," the captain said.

"Any questions?" he asked.

"Yes, sir," Jin said.

"What is it?"

"When I go to America, may I return to Korea?" Jin asked.

"Well, if you do very well in your job, maybe you will be permitted to return. Or maybe you will be assigned here," the captain replied.

"Yes, sir," Jin said.

"You may leave," the captain said.

Jin nodded and bowed slightly before leaving the room.

"What a monster. To think that at his age, he was able to hurt Myung," the captain thought, recalling what Myung had said earlier.

Earlier, the captain had asked Myung about his opinion on Jin.

"He's not bad. In the future, he will easily surpass me," Myung had replied.

'And why is that?'

'When you tell me to beat a thug or him, I will immediately pick the thug because even if the thug has a bat, I don't care. But Jin, when he punched my abdomen, it was actually bruised inside, but I didn't show it.'

'Ahh, so that's why you slammed him.'

'Yes, sir.'

'Okay, you may leave and call that kid here.'

'Yes, sir.' Myung then left the room.

Back to the present, the captain said, 'This will be interesting...'

Jin, who was already outside the room, went to the elevator and entered his room. He then slept, preparing for tomorrow's training.

In the morning, Jin suddenly heard someone calling him. 'Kid, wake up. It's your first day of training, and I'm sure you don't want to be late.'

Jin then got up from his bed and changed his clothes. After that, Jin followed Lee, and they went outside the building and headed to the field. Jin saw everybody was there, waiting for him.

'You're late. Run three laps around the field,' the captain said while looking at Jin. Jin, who heard this, frowned.

'It's just two minutes late.'

'Just because of that, five laps then.'

Jin, who heard this, frowned even more. He then started running. After about 10 minutes, he finally finished it, and he was exhausted.

'Okay, now all of you run 20 laps, including you, Jin.'

Jin, who heard this, wanted to curse the captain, but he said nothing and followed the others. The others finished the 20 laps around 10 minutes, but Jin finished it after 30 minutes.

'Okay, now start the 100 push-ups.'

Jin, hearing this, wanted to pass out, but he kept following them.

'Now the 100 sit-ups.'

Jin was already at the edge of collapsing, but he kept following the training.

After around 30 minutes, the training was over, and Jin then passed out.

'Lee, bring that kid to his room.'

'Yes, sir.' Lee then picked up Jin and walked towards Jin's room. He then put Jin on his bed and left the room.

In the evening, Jin woke up.

'Damn, that captain is really trying to kill me,' Jin said. Jin still had to train his body because all he had was his Instant Mastery talent, different from Hyungseok who received the talent and the perfect body to use the talent.

Jin then sat on the bed to see that a food tray was on his table. He then walked towards the table and started eating. After he finished, he was bored, so he then took a book to make a journal about his training.

Day 1:

I passed out from all the training I did with the captain. When I'm strong enough, I will beat that man. Well, I hope I can finish his training. This body of mine is weak. I should have asked for a perfect body. Well, nothing to regret."
