Chapter 41

"Lina" she heard her name being called and her eyes she fluttered around in the darkness "Lina, can you hear me?" Lina gasped as her ears recognised Avril's voice.

"Avril" she cried... "were are you?"

"Are you okay?" he asked.

She sniffed, his voice was in her head, her eyes moved down her body seeing all the bruises, "am fine"

He sighed, "Hold on am coming to get you"

"But.. but brother, he won't let me leave" she cried.

Avril didn't answer but she heard the metal door move, turning back to it she tried to get up but her weak legs won't let her. Light gashed in when it was fully opened and a frame of a man stood in the doorway.

"Lina" he said walking in.

"Avril, am here" she cried. Hus eyes landed on a bloody figure, she was covered in cuts, bruises & blood. Her messy hair cover most of her face with the rest of the body trembling.

Lina saw him come closer and get down to her, his warm arms embraced her, pushing her hair aside he held her face and frowned.

Lina noticed and pulled away, "It's my eyes I know they look....red "he heard her mutter

They where red almost glowing. He chuckled, "just like mine" he said.

Lina looked up to see his and blinked.

"Your... your eyes, what happened?" she breathed.

"They turned like this when I got so mad after I knew what happened to you"he said

Lina's tears fell, Avril let go gazing at her face...he smiled as his fingers wiped the blood from her face, "Even in this situation your still tempting"

Lina's eyes flickered in confusion, holding Lina closer she saw him come down to kiss her.

The warmth from his sweet lips erased all the pain and worry in her, Lina's hands gripped tightly on to him deepening their kiss.

Richard came running in and stopped at the door, huffing he frowned watching the two kissing.

"Hi you two, can you be serious right now. We are in a middle of a fight and you two are busy doing this" he yelled.

Avril pulled back glaring at him, Lina leaned down on his shoulder.

"Let's go if your done" Richard added.

Carefully Avril carried Lina put of the room.

"You have been staring at me since you got here, did I change since you last saw me?" Avril's mother asked.

Lina turned away, "Am.. am sorry I didn't mean to"

"It's alright, but is something bothering you?"

Lina fell silent, Avril was aside watching them both. After his mother was done she gestured him to follow her out.

"What happened to her?" she asked.

He breathed, "Their filthy secret organisation and her brother tortured her"

"Huh, I thought that was done. How come they where still conducting tests on her"

"They never stopped, it was the main reason they kept her as their sister. It was to still have access to her and do the tests without her being suspicious" he said.

"They are still vicious as I remember, but she trusted them as her family and he hurt her that much" she sighed, "go back to her she needs someone to be with her now after such a thing has happened to her"

He nodded and moved back to the room, Lina was still up lost in a daze.

"You know my hearing has sharpened since I left that place. Your mother is right, they are vicious. My own brother looked me in the eye and called me a monster. I stared back into his eyes and could not recognise who he was, the brother I knew wasn't there, it's was like he never existed and the person I grew up with was actually this cold hearted stranger"

He walked to her, seeing her tears fall.

"Lina.." he said.

"You don't have to comfort me Avril, you have already done enough by saving me. I just don't know what to do now with this new me, my eyes are crazy red, my body feels so different like it's not even mine anymore and... "she cried.

Avril scowled pulling her into his arms, "It's alright love, am here we will finger it out together"
