"The shield…?" In the excitement of meeting Morganna, she had temporarily forgotten that Fer Benn had talked to her about finding a shield. "But I thought I had to master the sword first?"

"I am afraid it may be better for you to learn the sword on the go," Goldie said solemnly, "We do not always have the luxury of mastering a skill before we are forced to use it."

Cierra looked around at the blackness around them. She much preferred detailed list of what needed to be done over this constantly changing series of events. As she thought, she chewed on her lip. She didn't notice until she broke skin and tasted blood.

"Goldie," She started off carefully, "Where are we?"

"Ah," Goldie looked around them, "We are in what you can think of as an empty realm. A place that once held potential but long ago lost it."

Confused, Cierra asked, "You said no one can cross the realms?"
