  Cierra's heart raced as she stood before the imposing pearl temple, its serene beauty contrasting with the unease that had settled within her. It took her and the Brigantes what felt like hours to find their way back, and she had spent the whole time fuming, wondering where Fáelán had disappeared to.

  When she had first seen the temple, she had felt it was a sanctuary of peace, but now it emanated an unsettling aura. She could sense the power it held, and the dormant presence of Brigid, the goddess herself, lying within a crystal tomb.

  Aisling, ever vigilant at her side, cast a worried glance towards Cierra. She, too, felt the disquiet that had settled upon the sacred place. None of the Brigantes had said a word after Cierra's allegation that Brigid was concealing information about the Nightmares. Instead, they had all rode in silence, doing their best to retrace their steps from the waterfall.
