Chapter 8

After that ordeal, I was temporarily staying with my parents since they wanted to monitor me. I was still put on bed rest, so I was constantly checked to see how I was and if anything was wrong.

My bed ended up being changed and my father ordered my room to be fire-proof, so I didn't accidentally destroy it again.

It was peaceful staying with my parents. I did not do much and a few weeks went by like that before I was finally allowed to move – which made me feel over the moon. At long last, I was able to take off the nightgowns I always had to wear and wore normal indoor clothes. Mary did my hair for me, and without wasting time, I ran into the garden. I finally felt free.

Despite the shouts from my maids to not run, I giggled and ran around the garden. Being inside a room for so long sure makes you long for fresh air.

I didn't look where I was going, and just like in every cliché novel, I bumped into someone. I landed on the floor and heard the shouts of my maids come closer.

"Your Highness!"

Before I knew it, I was lifted back onto my feet and several hands patted my dress so the dust could fly away.

"Have you hurt anywhere your Highness?"

I shook my head before looking in front of me.

"Apologies your Highness," a small voice said before bowing his head.

It was a young boy. He was my age and he had brown hair and emerald, green eyes.

"Ian!"

Surprised to see him, I smiled out of joy. This boy was my friend, Caspian Havenash, also known as Ian to me. The first son of Duke Havenash – who was also friends with my father.

"You don't need to apowogise. It was my fault," I brushed off what happened.

"I'm so happy to see you!" I exclaimed.

He smiled back as pink tinted his cute cheeks.

"Oh my. It seems you have already met Lord Caspian," I heard a melodic voice say.

Knowing whose voice it was, I looked behind me.

"We invited the Havenash's over because we knew you were bored," mother explained.

I jumped up and down and took Ian's hand.

"Yay! Let's go to the lake!" I excitedly said.

With me taking the lead, I ended up dragging Caspian with me to the dazzling lake with everyone else following us.

When we arrived, I was in awe at how blue the lake was. It was a deep rich blue colour, something I wasn't able to see in my past life. Like I said before, though I couldn't really remember what happened, I knew that I never saw a sea/ river or went to a beach. Vacation didn't exist for me. Technically speaking, the hospital was my home, so I did not have the leisure to think about going anywhere.

"Wow! So pwetty!"

I looked at Caspian and he was smiling too.

"Do you want to go on the boat, Ian?" I asked.

He blinked before frantically nodding his head.

"Mummy! Let's have a boat ride."

I could see the hesitance in my mother's facial expression, but she ended up agreeing. It was probably because she felt pity for me since I was on bed rest for a while.

When I, Caspian, my mother and Duchess Havenash with some maids were seated on the boat, the boatmen started sailing. It was a very grand boat. It had various designs and ornaments all over. Just with a glimpse, you could tell this was owned by the Imperial Family. Flowers and vines intertwined to form an arch above the seats – it was really pretty.

Ian and I played with the water on the edge of the boat, but we were scolded because it was dangerous.

Though technically I had a mind of a 15-year-old, I still felt like a child because everything was still new to me. Now that I was reborn, I wanted to experience everything I couldn't do in my past life.

~

After having a wonderful teatime, Caspian and Duchess Havenash left and I was left alone to play -well with my maids. Currently, I was busy making a flower crown for me, my mother and my father. I felt happy doing it because making something for the people I loved was new. It felt nice being surrounded by those who openly cherished you.

I was finishing up making my flower crown when suddenly an image popped up in front of me. I did a double-take before taking a step back. It looked like a hologram. It was an image of a blank page?

The page was bigger than me.

Confused, I looked around but none of the maids and even Mary showed any sign of surprise.

"Erm, Mary? Can you see this?" I said whilst pointing at it.

Mary tilted her head as she looked in the direction I was pointing at.

"See what, your Highness?"

At that response, I knew she couldn't see it.

"Nothing."

I brushed it off and looked back at it. Was I the only one that could see it?

Suddenly, text started appearing in the blank space, startling me. I took another step back, feeling a bit frightened.

Once the text finished, I realised it was all in hangul?

Slowly, I read the whole thing.

'𝑊𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑎𝑛 𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑐𝑒𝑛𝑡 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑔 𝑃𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑡𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑔 𝑏𝑜𝑦'𝑠 ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑎𝑓𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑜𝑜𝑛 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ ℎ𝑖𝑚. 𝐴𝑠 𝐴𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑒𝑎 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐶𝑎𝑠𝑝𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑦𝑒𝑑 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟, 𝑁𝑒𝑠𝑟𝑖𝑛 𝑤𝑎𝑡𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 𝑡𝑤𝑜 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑎 𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑚 𝑔𝑎𝑧𝑒. 𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑑𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑒𝑟. 𝑆𝑢𝑐ℎ 𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑐𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠.

When I finished reading it, I was puzzled even more. What on earth…?

As soon as I finished, the page disappeared as if it was never there, leaving me in a state of confusion.

I went over everything I read but could not infer what it was. The page sort of described my afternoon with Caspian – however, it wasn't completely accurate. But at the same time, I felt goosebumps. How did this thing know about what I did? Also, what was it with me feeling something warm?

All I could think about was that it resembled a passage from a story or something, but that was it. I still did not know why it appeared before me.

Feeling like my head was going to explode from all the thinking, I decided to forget about it. I'll just think of it as a weird phenomenon or something.

I know. It's been forever since I uploaded but I have been very busy and I finally thought about this novel. I keep thinking about it but needed the motivation to post the already written chapters. Hope you like it!
