chapter twenty one torn between love and revenge (6)

She was lost and didn't know what to think, she couldn't tell him she had feelings for him as he was the reason for her family's death, she didn't know what to do or think anymore as she was torn between the urge for love and revenge, she made an oath to her people and would never turn down that oath as for Sefra she didn't know what to think,so she decided that being way from him was the better option but it still didn't help.

That day after she had calmed down Sefra was nowhere to be found,he had went out though she felt kind of relieved she was also lonely and didn't feel the urge to eat at night, she decided to take a stroll, the night was peaceful and vibrant, the stars were out and she found solace in the quietude of the night.

She reached a spot where there were selling snacks and the smell was tantalizing, she couldn't help feeling hungry and decided to try the stall snack,as she approached the shop the shop owner was very kind and quick with service, when she collected the snacks she was about to pay when she realized she wasn't with her wallet, she looked around, did she drop it somewhere, she searched her entire pocket her phone was also missing, what had happened.

The shop owner who was originally nice was loosing patience as he thought she wanted to eat free food and she didn't want to upset the nice man.

Am really sorry,I think my wallet was stolen, she said to the man innocently but he didn't seem to believe her.

Then call someone to pay for it,he said.

I can't find my cellphone too,she said and was actually surprised that she had being robbed.

Hold on a second..was it that boy,she thought.

Kiara who had just come out with her phone and her wallet put it into her pocket and strolled the area, she reached a place where a guy who was roller skating bumped into her and she fell flat on her butt,it hurt really bad.

Ouch..,she said rubbing her butt as he came and stretched his hands trying to help her up,she accepted his help.

Am really sorry,I didn't mean to run into you,he said and she nodded.

But at least you could've watched where you were going,or even not ride here lots of people walk around here, she said and dusted herself and he apologized before staking off.

What..,how dare he steal from me,she thought as her blood boiled.

She didn't notice the death glare the stall owner gave her as she scolded the boy in her heart, someone swooned in to help her.

Here you go sir, keep the change, the gurl said and dragged Kiara from her position as people cued up behind her.

She soon regained her senses only to look at the stranger in front of her.

Umm thank you,my wallet got stolen earlier and I had no idea, she recalled and started feeling angry.

It's no big deal as long as you have nothing important in it,this area is very popular and thus young boys steal from people around here,so this is a lesson to keep your property in check as you are around here, the girl lectured as Kiara started blankly at her.

By the way am Ariel and you are?,she asked.

Kiara,she replied.

Nice to meet you kiara, she said and brought out her hand for a shake, after their introduction Kiara didn't feel too stiff with her as she took her to the best spot to watch the stars, they immediately hit it off, once it was getting late kiara decided to go back home in case Sefra was looking for her,Ariel wrote her number on a piece of paper and gave Kiara.

Remember to call me when you get a new phone, she said as they said their farewell.

She walked back home but this time with caution and a smile on her face, she had finally made a friend in this foreign world, she went back home and realized someone was also in the house.

As Kiara returned from her night walk, she was met with the comforting aroma of food wafting through the air. Curiosity piqued, she followed the scent to the kitchen, where she found Sefra gracefully moving around the counters, effortlessly preparing a meal.

Leaning against the kitchen island, Kiara observed him, her presence concealed for the moment. She watched as he expertly chopped vegetables, his movements precise yet fluid. There was a certain grace in his actions, a testament to the adaptability and skill that came with his long existence.

Her heart fluttered as she witnessed this new side of Sefra—a vampire gracefully taking on the role of a cook. It was a charming contrast to the darkness that surrounded their past and a glimpse into the depth of his character. She found herself captivated, studying his every move with a mix of fascination and warmth.

Sefra, seemingly engrossed in his culinary creations, was already aware of her presence immediately she walked into the house but he didn't turn to look at her. As he placed a pan on the stovetop, he turned around, and met with the sight of Kiara standing silently behind the counter, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

A delighted smile crossed Sefra's lips. "Kiara," he greeted, his voice laced with pleasure. "You're back. I didn't expect you so soon."

Kiara stepped forward, her expression a blend of admiration and amusement. "I didn't mean to startle you," she replied, her voice gentle. "I was just captivated by your culinary skills. Who knew a vampire could be such a talented cook?"

Sefra's smile widened, a glimmer of pride shining in his eyes. "Immortality comes with its perks," he remarked, his tone lighthearted. "Over the centuries, I have had ample time to refine my skills in various fields, including the culinary arts."

So now you're not the only one who can cook,he said smugly.
