CHAPTER 30

 EMERSON

She made me emotional. Of course, I also have feelings of losing her,but I don't know. I found a deep feeling or something else in her tears,like something she wants to say or share but didn't say. I tried to ask her, but she wasn't comfortable telling me. So, it's time to fulfill my dreams and start a new phase of life. Attach your seatbelt; the plane is about to fly.After landing in Italy, I received a lot of phone calls from Mom and Jules.

JULES: Are you land? EMERSON: No my plane land JULES: Gross! I was worried EMERSON: Stop worrying about me not a baby anymore my phone rang; it was Mom calling. "So, you arrived?" she asked."Yup," I replied, "that's good. I'm glad that you finally got this." She said,"Hmm, yeah, thanks. Work hard and take care, sweetie." "Sure, Mom," I replied.

"Well, I have news that your sister is engaged," Mom said. "What?Really, you didn't tell me?" I replied. "Well, I wanted to surprise you. So,what's the plan for the wedding, and can you send me a picture of the boy?" She responded, "Well, she doesn't want to get married yet. She needs some months to prepare herself for that. So, I'm telling you this earlier to make sure you have to come." Mom said, "Sure, Mom. Why not? I will check my schedule."

After 10 months

MOM: when's your flight you know you are already late EMERSON: I know just got busy but hope to be there on time MOM: Your sister is saying that's it's not fair you have to be there at least one week before her wedding day EMERSON: I know I'm sorry so there is a problem to resign from here but things sound good when I got there

MOM: Your packing is done? EMERSON: Yup just going to head for airport MOM: Good see you here.I don't know what to do next; I already resigned from here because my dad said so, and of course, my sister's wedding, which is also a main factor. Well, I have to leave my thoughts to look fresh on her day because I'm already late. I haven't talked to Jules for many months; I don't know why she didn't pick up my calls. Maybe she got busy or found another job.

Anyway, when I arrived, Mom and Dad were happy to see me. Without wasting time, I gathered my clothes and pressed them. Today, I'm going to wear a blue gown with silver jewelry and heels. I'm thinking of making a loose bun of my hair; that looks cute.Someone knocked on the door; "Come in," Lily, my sister I said. "So,you are going to wear this at night?" she asked, looking at my gown."Yup," I replied, "the gown is beautiful. Italy has a great fashion sense,"she said.

"So, tell me about your relation with Alex," I asked, "how did you guys meet and other things?" I asked. "Well, let me remind you, dear Emerson, we don't have time for this conversation. It would have been possible if you came earlier," she replied. "Stop taunting me; I was busy,you know that. Yeah, yeah, lawyers get jobs, so Mrs. Lawyer, get up and be ready. Maybe you'll find someone at the wedding," she said, which suddenly reminded me of Gary. I was lost in my thoughts, but then I replied, "I'm not going to look at someone. We'll see," she said.So, I washed my face and put on some makeup. I wore a gown, which is pretty uncomfortable and loosens or burns in 5 minutes, thanks to the tutorial on YouTube that I watched last night. Then, we went to the hall. After 30 minutes, the groom and bride arrived.The theme of the hall is white, which I already knew because of my sister's obsession with white. The table is decorated with white roses,and the chamber looks amazing. The bride and groom, in white gowns,make Lily look like a princess, and Alex looks like a prince with his deep blue eyes but those blue eyes remind me of Evan I don't what he was doing this time he hurt alot by his parents he deserved to be loved.

Suddenly, my phone rang. I opened the phone, and there was a call from an unknown number. They had called me three times in the morning, but I'm not going to attend it for sure. I don't have time. After finishing a dramatic photoshoot, food, and videos, I wanted to go home and take rest.

Lily is honest in this case; I'm not interested in her life. I also didn't help her in wedding preps, which is selfish, of course, but who cares? The ringtone distracts me again. I decided to pick up and said, 'Hello!'Someone said, 'Hi, who are you?' 'I'm Emily Emerson. I need to talk.''Listen, Emerson, your friend Jules is dead.' Emily's voice makes me shiver. 'What the hell? What are you saying?' I start shouting. 'I don't know what to say.' 'Yep, Emerson, she got murdered. The police are investigating it. She got murdered last night.' Emily replied. I couldn't believe this. What I heard today was unexpected. Jules died. I won't believe this.

I started crying. I don't know what to do, but the only thing I have to dos go to Germany. I apologize to Mom because I had a plan to stay here, but anyhow, she would understand. From the first flight, I went to Germany, but oh gosh, I got a text.

'Your flight has been delayed due to weather conditions.' Oh no, this is not going to happen. I have to be there in the first place. So, the wait is over, and finally, I would be able to go there.

I went to the detective who was solving this case. 'Hi, I'm Emerson,Jules' friend.' 'I'm Detective Barker,' he replied. 'Well, I want to know what happened to her. Who did this?' Barker responded with patience, 'Well, we are also solving this case. Someone killed her 'So, you are her friend. Tell me about her family now.' Barker started investigating, 'Well,she belongs to a broken family. She hasn't talked to her family for many years. I'm her only friend,' I replied.

'I have some questions for you. Do you think she had a problem with someone, like an enemy or something?' he asked. 'No, she didn't have any problem with someone. She lived alone. Sometimes she talked tome,' I replied. 'Do you see any change in her behavior?' he asked. 'No, I haven't seen any change in her behavior. But I also haven't even got a chance to talk to her for many months. I tried to call her, but no one attended.'

'Sir! Sir, a guy is coming behind Detective Barker. We got the report that someone stabbed her with a knife,' he told Detective Barker. I started crying. Who wants to kill Jules?"
