Well-loved
A month has passed in a flash.
Diana was already used to working in Forrest Research Institute. She already knows her way around the building and has settled to her routine.
During lunch break, she would join Kate and Miriam at the cafeteria. Their group even expanded when Katherine Atwood, the girl wearing glasses before and had a confrontation with Bryan Cook and Clara Holt previously, actually got hired that day. Now there are two Kates in their group, which is why they adapted a habit to calling Katherine Atwood, Kathy.
Their two male colleagues, Liam Branigan and Rupert Greaves would occasionally join them for lunch as well.
Overall, Diana gets along well with her colleagues, letting her focus on her work and prepare for the exam for Medical Laboratory Scientist, which is getting nearer.
Meanwhile. the Winchester Family's mansion was bustling with activities.
The elders have already gotten ready for the wedding and they were already heading to the Church.
Chantal, Vanessa and Osmond were in a white limousine and her entourage was also in a separate one. Regina and Vergil were in their family's car, driven by their driver.
At the church, Henry and his entourage were already inside and waiting for their cue to march in.
The entrance to the church was filled with bouquet of flowers that continued all the way inside with a red carpet in the middle. A flower-decorated arch was positioned a few steps from the door. A flower bouquet was placed on every pew. At the front and center a white and gold love chaise was placed.
The guests, family and friends were already settled in the pews.
Henry stood there waiting for his bride.
When the music played, the door opened and there stood Chantal, who was dressed in a beautiful gown, her face covered with a laced veil.
Osmond was beside her, escorting her toward Henry. He then gave her hand to her groom.
The priest then began.
Osmond's sister, Cassandra and her family were able to come in attendance. When she found out that Diana already has a boyfriend and will be bringing him to the wedding, she insisted that her niece and her boyfriend sit with them. This would also give her a chance to get to know the man her niece likes.
"How long have you known my little Di?" Cassandra asked Lucas, inquisitively.
"We've been dating for a while now." Lucas smiled.
"Ohh.. Who confessed first?" Cassandra teased.
Lucas chuckled. "It was me, of course."
Cassandra chuckled. "I like you already. Make sure to make my little girl happy, okay? I'm not here all the time to watch you."
"No doubt about it." Lucas smiled.
"Cass, don't scare the guy." Winston playfully reprimanded his wife.
"Teeheehee.. I'm just making sure our Diana will only have the best love in her life, that's all."
"Aww mom.. You're making me jealous." Harlan playfully complained.
"Geez.. Don't be silly. If you get yourself a girlfriend, I'll pamper your girl too. But make sure she's at least as brilliant as your cousin."
Harlan gulped. "Okay. Okay. Pressure much. Anyway, I still have too many things to do rather than focus on dating."
"Uh-huh. Career first." Winston approved his son's decision.
"You guys should visit our restaurant. I'll also give you a tour while you're there." Harlan invited.
"Thanks for the invitation. We'll let you know when we do."
"Are you guys going to stay in Great Blackhampton for a while or are you going back soon?"
"Yes, we'll leave tomorrow."
"So soon?"
"Yeah.. We're launching some new items for our menu so we have to be back there the soonest we can."
"Oh! How exciting!"
"It would have been nice to have you taste it, but you're here.."
"Hehe.. Maybe soon I'll be able to go visit you guys.."
Winston and Cassandra own a famous restaurant overseas, Candlelight Kitchen, in the country of Maconia.
They have several branches in the different parts of the country, and they even have a number of branches in their home country Great Blackhampton.
Winston's ancestors are from the country of Maconia and he met Cassandra when she was studying Culinary overseas.
She used to work for Winston, then became his lover and now his wife for 20 plus years, with only one son, Harlan. Their son is also studying Culinary as it is already ingrained in him since young. He would also be the sole heir of their business.
At 20 years old, he only has 2 years left before he finishes University and will explore other countries' cuisines to expand his knowledge and skills.
Dating is the least of his concerns. Anyway, at the moment, nobody has yet to catch his eye.
Even if they are separated by a whole country, Diana, Harlan, Cassandra and Winston keep in constant communication.
They try to visit their home country at least every 2 years. Except for this time when they came to attend Chantal's wedding.
Cassandra knew about the complicated history concerning Diana, Chantal and her soon-to-be husband, Henry.
She was disappointed that Chantal would even be in a relationship with her sister's boyfriend.
But seeing that Diana is happier with Lucas, she didn't dwell on the matter anymore.
A month ago, she received a call from her mother Regina, who told her about Diana's identity.
She was very shocked upon hearing about it. But her love for Diana didn't waver.
If anything, she feels more protective with Diana now after all that her niece went through.
If only she could raise her niece herself all those years, perhaps Diana would have been happier and well-loved.
If Diana would wish to, she would be more than happy to have her in Maconia. There are plenty of opportunities there for her as well. She just doesn't want for her to continue being lonely at home. If it weren't because Diana and Heather chose to share an apartment, she would have insisted on having her move to Maconia instead. Especially now that she's an adult and wouldn't need her parents permission of everything anymore.
As for the bombshell that her parents and brother dropped, she just doesn't know what to make of them. She was disappointed by her parents and brother for placing Diana in such a situation. It was too selfish of them to do so.
