"Your acquaintance?" Lucas asked Diana.

He didn't recognize the two people.

Although Beatrice was there when he first met Diana, she made no impression on him whatsoever.

Diana tilted her head. "Not exactly. They are my sister's friends."

At this, Lucas's turned frosty. 'Ah. The ones who humiliated her?'

Not wasting his breath on those people, he motioned for the sales associate to hand out the packages.

Beatrice had to admit that Lucas's image was too incredible. It was as if she was in front of a famous celebrity.

'Where did Diana meet such a person? He's even dressed so elegantly. Surely Diana can't afford to dress him up. I don't think the Winchester family would pamper her the way they do with Chantal.'

At that moment, the owner appeared with a sales associate in tow. She must have told the owner of the situation.

"Young Master! Thank you for your patronage once again." The owner smiled. "You two, help the Young Master and Young Miss to bring the purchases to their car." He told two sales associates, who obediently followed. "Young Master, Young Miss.. I'll accompany you.."

Lucas nodded. He rested his hand on Diana's back and exited the store, with the owner and two associates in tow. They left after all of the purchases were placed in the trunk of the car.

Back at the shop, Beatrice stared dumbfounded at the door. After the owner accompanied the two out, he went back inside and told his associates that he'll be in his work room and to not disturb him.

"Miss? Here is your card and your purchased item. Thank you for your patronage. Have a great day." The cashier politely said.

Troy took it for her instead, seeing that Beatrice still looked shocked. He quietly led her out of the shop.

"Did the guy just say 'Young Master'?" Beatrice whispered.

Troy nodded. He contemplated how Diana can get to know some 'Young Master' when all she does is study.

Didn't Beatrice say earlier that Diana paid for that guy to act as her boyfriend?

Can Diana really pay people to put up such an act?

Lucas glanced at Diana, she didn't look upset.

Her hand rested on the side. He tentatively went to reach for it and held it.

Diana looked at him, startled but didn't take her hand away. He inwardly felt relief.

He smiled. An idea popped in his head and he started driving towards that direction.

"Lucas" she said softly.

"Hmm?" He liked the sound of her voice saying her name. "Yes, Diana?"

Her body shivered when he said her name.

"Do you really not have a girlfriend?" Diana queried. She realized that it would cause her more hurt to know that she was being played with by Lucas than when she caught Henry kissing Chantal. With Chantal being the way she is all their lives, she already expected for her to get competitive and try to take whatever she has for herself. If the man would be easily swayed, then clearly he didn't value her enough in the first place. She didn't want Lucas to be like that person.

"Only you. If you will finally agree." Lucas chuckled.

"Hmph. Be serious. Do you have a girlfriend? Or is anyone arranged to marry you in the future?" Diana wanted to be sure.

She can't agree to be someone's mistress. Not even for a man as influential as Lucas.

Lucas looked at her frowning face. He pursed his lips and held her hand tighter.

"I don't have a fiance. My family don't care about such things. They don't have any opinion as to who I date or marry."

Lucas honestly said.

Diana stared at Lucas's face the whole time he spoke, trying to decipher whether he's telling the truth.

When she agreed to be Henry's girlfriend before, it was because of peer pressure and she felt she could just try it out. She did end up being disappointed but if she can take a gamble with Henry, why can't she do it for Lucas? She can try and get to know him more. Along the way, maybe Lucas will lose interest.

Thinking about this, she told her thoughts. "If...If you will end up losing interest in me. Can you break it off with me cleanly before you go with someone else?" she whispered.

Lucas heard her clearly and massaged her hand with his thumb.

"I doubt that will happen." Lucas crinkled his eyes.

"You can't know that now. Just, promise me." Diana closed her eyes.

"Alright." Lucas said. At the thought of the turn of their conversation, realization dawned on him. "So this means I'm officially your boyfriend?"

His voice rose an octave.

Diana turned her head away and just nodded.

Seeing this, Lucas brought her hand to his lips.

Diana felt his lips on her fingertips and she felt like being zapped by electricity. Her body felt warm.

Was it too fast? Before, with Henry she had to think about it multiple times before agreeing. Even with the 2 years of relationship, she was still holding back, not giving her whole self to him. She wanted to focus on her studies before giving more time to relationships. Her priority was to have means so she can be independent from the Winchester Family. After she'll earn the degree, she can give more thought to her relationship with Henry. Before that, she looked at him like a close friend. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to wait. Though that happened, she was relieved that she didn't get too invested in someone as fickle as Henry.

But what about Lucas?

Why is she agreeing to become his girlfriend right away?

Is it because they already skipped some steps?

When they met, that was also their first kiss to each other.

She can't really say now that she needs to focus with her studies since she has already earned a degree and is now making good money. No matter what happens, she'll be able to support herself financially.

Was it because of his help multiple times?

Is it?

But the sparks she feels every time he would brush his hand against her arm, when he would rest his hand against her back or like what he just did just now, when he brushed his lips against her fingertips, these are not just because she's thankful of him.

Lucas was the first man she felt physically attracted to. And so far, his personality does not disappoint her in the slightest.
