Family Dinner

At the Winchester Family's mansion, the grandparents Vergil and Regina sat across each other at the dinner table. On one side, sat Osmond, Regina, and Chantal. On the other, sat Mr. Richard Ward, his wife Elena, and their son Henry.

The two families were happily chatting, the guests every so often complimented the chef's cooking and the precious antiques that were displayed.

Mr. Richard Ward has always been focused on his work and only took time off to show formality with the Winchester Family. This is after Henry sought him out and told him of his decision to marry Chantal back in January. His wife Elena has met Chantal only in December before but they've spent time with each other frequently after that. Chantal even spent Christmas eve with them. So far, Elena is pleased with Chantal's attitude towards their family and especially to Henry.

This is why she has no objection when Henry announced that he will marry. At first, Elena was surprised at how fast his decision came. But when Henry told them that he has dated for months already and thought that she is a perfect match for him, she didn't object anymore. After all, being in-laws with the Winchester Family is not such a bad deal.

Now at the dinner table, both parents of Chantal and Henry are already on a first-name basis.

"Hmm.. have the guests confirmed the invitation on your side, Elena?" Vanessa asked.

"Oh yes. Most of them have already replied." Elena answered.

"That's good then. Save for my sister Cassandra and her family who are overseas, our relatives will be in attendance. Chantal and Henry's friends and colleagues have also confirmed. Business partners and some politicians will be there as well. And of course, several celebrities." Vanessa enumerated.

Elena already expected that it would be a grand party but she didn't expect that it would be this grand. It's almost like it is already the actual Wedding day they are planning about and not just the engagement party.

Chantal naturally was very pleased with this. So is Henry. It's obvious that the Winchester Family has given him great importance.

"After the engagement party, we'll start the rehearsals for the Wedding. Henry and I have already discussed and we're thinking of having it in May." Chantal announced.

The elders were surprised at this. They were still discussing the engagement party and only 2 months after the Wedding.

Vergil and Regina remained quiet. After all, they know about Chantal's personality. Once she has made a decision, it is the only one that will be followed. Questioning her would just end up giving them a headache.

However, Osmond and Vanessa were not at all surprised. In fact, they looked like they also wanted the two to get married quickly.

"Yes. So in planning for the engagement party, we will also have the planners and coordinators work for the Wedding arrangements." Henry said.

Mr. Richard Ward was contemplating their announcements. Henry is his only son and will be the heir to their business. Up until now, he is still hung up on his hobby to take pictures. If it were not for forcing him to get a degree in Business Administration, he will be worried about his son's future. But now that he has already earned his degree and has already started working in their family's company, his mind is slightly at ease. Even if he will get married now and start a family, he will be able to provide for his children and let their business flourish. Especially now that he will marry a daughter from Winchester Family. They will also have their connections.

"Have you decided on your entourage yet?" Elena asked. "What about the Maid of honor? Ah! Don't you have a twin sister?"

Her suggestion was in good faith. She didn't expect that it would put Chantal and Vanessa in a bad mood.

Osmond cleared his throat. "No. I think she will be too busy for rehearsals. Chantal has a lot of friends, she can pick one from them."

Chantal exhaled the breath she was holding. "Yeah. I've already decided on Beatrice as my Maid of Honor and Leah as the Senior Bridesmaid."

"Oh! That's great then.. What about you Henry? Have you decided on the Best man?" Elena asked his son whose face was stiff on the side.

Henry nodded. "Yes. Troy will be my Best Man."

Elena clapped her hands. "Good. Good. It seems like the planning will be smooth."

"I agree. These two have already thought of the details. We won't have too much to do in the end." Vanessa chuckled.

"Well then, if the invitation is already made, I will be handing it to the guests also. That way they will still have time to arrange their schedule." Mr. Richard Ward said.

"I agree. Since it's already 2 months from now, the guests should know about it as soon as possible." Osmond agreed.

"It's not a problem at all. The invitation is already finalized. Henry and I will pick it up later and we'll give it to you afterward." Chantal said.

Elena was impressed at how Chantal was able to organize the whole affair so fast.

"My child, how have you grown up so fast? It's like it was only yesterday when you were still planning your fashion empire and now you're already planning to start your own family." Regina clasped Chantal's hand, sentimentally.

She was only 22 and yet they are already talking about her getting married. Although it was not unheard of that a young woman marries at 22, they couldn't help but feel nostalgic. It was as if the days when Chantal was just born and grew into adulthood went by in flash.

She didn't really ease them in with her decision. They've only found out about their relationship only some time ago. And now they're already planning for the event. Still, they were happy as long as she was happy. They also have high expectations for Henry. He should take care of the granddaughter they've always doted on.

Vergil chuckled. "Indeed my granddaughter has grown up to be an outstanding woman." He offered a toast to everyone.
