Drifting Away
Jayden and Halynn were having dinner with both of their families as they discussed their wedding arrangements.
“Looks like we have everything in order. All of our guests have confirmed that they will attend.” Halynn’s mother said.
“Yes. Thank goodness. Oh! Before I forget.. I think it’s best not to include some of the bridesmaids. Perhaps they could come as guests instead.” Jayden’s mother said.
Halynn’s brows shot up. “Umm–may I ask why?”
For the first time, Jayden’s mother looked at Halynn pointedly. “Well–since you asked, then I would say it now. Some of your friends are not ideal.”
Apart from Halynn’s friends, there’s only some of her cousins who were also part of her entourage. “Not ideal?”
“Yes. And I would advise that you stop seeing some of them. It does not only affect you. Now, there’s our grandchild inside you and the reputation of both of our families.” Jayden’s mother then turned to Halynn’s mother. “Don’t you agree?”
