Delusions
Since it was the first incident, Henry was able to come out with only a warning and a record.
However, Chantal who was in the backseat of the car with Henry was in a dark mood. She barely spoke a few words to him after the police told her what happened.
This was not the first time Chantal was angered. Before, whenever she was in this state, Henry would do whatever it takes to make her smile. He used to spout words of assurance. Even telling her that she is better than Diana. Now, however, Henry remained quiet. He didn’t look apologetic either. In fact, he strode out of the department, as nothing happened. It was like it’s Chantal’s obligation to get him out.
Chantal tried to calm herself down. Now was not the time to fight with her husband. With her belly growing, she couldn’t risk ruining their relationship over petty fights.
But is it petty to confront him why he would still show up at Diana’s doorstep?
