Conman

At the Moonlit Fork Club, Chantal and Henry's entourage gathered.

Taking a sip of her Mojito, Chantal was pensive.

Beatrice has just told her what happened back at Giovanni's Thread. She gripped the glass tightly that it's almost about to break.

Seeing Chantal's reaction, Henry took her hand in his and massaged it, calming Chantal slightly.

"So you're saying that the guy she was with at the party is actually a rich guy?" Leah was curious. "How did she even end up meeting one?"

"I know, right?! All she did back at school was study--study--and study. And every time the Winchester Family has an event, she doesn't really go around interacting with anybody." Beatrice recalled.

Leah snorted. "You mean, nobody wanted to interact with her. Pfft!"

Chantal took a glance at Henry's face, trying to see what his reaction was. Henry was still massaging Chantal's hand and used his other hand to take a few sips of his Whiskey.

Henry is already used to how Chantal's friends talk about Diana. Before, he would feel uncomfortable since he dated her before. But more and more, he started to see that Chantal's friends were only stating facts.

"Hmm.. She could really have met one. Good for her. As her twin, I'm happy for her." Chantal smiled. "Don't you think so, babe?"

Henry smiled at her. This is what he likes with Chantal. No matter how ungrateful and stuck up Diana is, Chantal is still kind to her. Which is why Henry feels the need to protect her more, she is too kind, she'll be easily bullied by people. "Yeah, babe."

Chantal smiled, gratified that he agrees with her easily.

Henry sighed, pulling her close. "You are too kind."

Inwardly, Chantal was already starting to cook up a plan to expose Diana's lie.

'Who knows where Diana found that man to pretend to be her boyfriend? On top of that, the man even pretended to be some Young Master?!'

They were from a wealthy family, but even so, nobody called them Young Master or Young Miss.

'Diana is really putting so much effort into trying to get Henry's attention on her again. She's trying to make him jealous, huh. And to have the man be called Young Master. Does she want to prove that she could snatch such a wealthy man, making her all the more worthy of his attention.

There's no way Diana would get acquainted with anybody from the top families. Even her own parents can't get into that social circle yet.

However, when she'll have success with her brand in the future, she'll be closer to those top families. Or better yet, she'll earn more fame and fortune that they will eventually belong to the top families.

But first, she has to expose Diana's lie.

Troy and Henry were outside of the bar, smoking.

"What Beatrice said earlier, was it true?" Henry asked, not looking at Troy.

"Mmn" Troy affirmed. "The guy was very disrespectful. He asked if we are Diana's acquaintance and when Diana said that we are Chantal's friends, he didn't even say Hi or Hello to us. He just left. What's more, the owner even accompanied them and had two associates bring the stuff they bought and put it in the car. The owner even called them Young Master, Young Miss."

Henry's brows knitted together.

'How did Diana find someone in a short span of time?'

"I don't know man. Maybe he bribed the owner or something, to pretend to call him Young Master. Maybe he's a conman." Troy was still thinking about how the ever-busy Diana can meet up with other people.

"A conman? Isn't that dangerous?" Henry tilted his head to look at Troy.

"Geez--who cares man? You're not with her anymore. She's already an adult, she should learn to deal with the consequences." Troy crushed the cigarette with his foot.

Henry nodded. 'Does she regret letting me go so easily that she's will to go through such lengths to make me jealous and drop Chantal for her?'

Troy patted his back. "Come on man. You're getting married already. Don't care about the past anymore."

"Mmn." Henry understood this well. 'She might be regretting it now but Chantal would be the better choice. Especially for my career. I have no future with her who doesn't even have a voice in their family.'

On April 8, the day of the engagement party was held at The Shining Star.

The banquet hall was heavily decorated with white, except for the pink flowers. The banquet table displayed fruits, pancakes, and other breakfast and lunch dishes.

They even opened the doors leading to the garden. There, tall tables were scattered.

Inside the banquet hall, the elders sat on a long table, while the younger once freely roamed around. There were tables for them inside the banquet hall as well.

"Where's Diana?" Osmond muttered to Vanessa in a low voice. His face masking the annoyance he felt inside.

"She's not here yet. I'll call her again. Don't worry, there's still 5 minutes until the program will start." Vanessa answered, glancing at the time on her watch every now and then, craning her neck to check if she's arrived yet.

"No. Let me do it. You entertain the guests." Osmond motioned for Vanessa to look at the door. A councilor's wife and her daughter just entered.

Vanessa nodded, striding confidently toward the guests.

Osmond got up and went to a private room, shutting the door behind him.

He paced back and forth as he waited for his call to be answered.

"Father." Diana said on the other line. She could already guess his purpose.

"Where are you? Didn't I tell you to be here? The people will think you are at odds with your sister. If you have truly moved on from your sister's fiance, then come here and show them support. Don't let the media make up unnecessary stories." Osmond ranted.

'She better not bring any drama here. She should get it in her head that she should let go of the man since he had made his choice. She shouldn't break her relationship with her sister just because she can't move on. She should think more for the whole family and not just for herself only.'
