When light meets shadow- Introduction-Written by Maxwell Hondros

Introduction

I can hear them outside my door talking about me, but only snippets of their conversation,

"she's incredible-" "stubborn" "-change the world." I throw the covers over my head and slam my frail, tiny hands over my ears, unable to take it anymore.

Why me,

I think. I couldn't sleep, how could I? Every time I was on the verge of drifting off thoughts of today's fearful events jolted me back into an awakened state. So I stayed awake with droopy eyes, pleading to be closed. I hate it here, I can't get away, I'm trapped. To pass the time until morning, or really just distract myself from the voices, I sweep my eyes over my plain room. It is white and padded from top to bottom. As I daydreamed about getting out of this hell they wanted me to call home. I realized that the kindly quiet voices outside my room became Bloody loud shouts.

"How the bloody hell did he get back in here?"

A deep masculine voice shouted as many sets of footfalls retreated from my locked door.

"get him!"

A frail female voice shouted over the unseen commotion outside of my room

I could hear heavy foot falls outside my bedroom door grow faint as they chase after someone, whoever they might be. The thought of the unknown scared me. Soon my imagination hopped into overdrive even more terrifying me.

Taptap taptap taptap

Two sets of soft footsteps near my door at a cautionary pace. Fear encases my being as I fumble onto the floor with my soft cotton blanket held tightly in my little hands.

I sharply intake a breath as my back hits the scratchy canvas wall, its padding leaving a cushion behind me. The footsteps grow more eager and impatient as they get closer, and closer to my door. With a mechanical Hum, and Hiss, my door slowly opens followed by two people entering my room. I start to tremble, slightly shaking the bed giving away my hiding space. The darkness cloaked figures begin waking closer and closer to my hiding place until they are at the lip of the bed. One of the figures slowly bends down to a crouch, looking at me with a face still untouched by light. The figure hushes me softly as if they can see my reaction, upon their figure the only thing I can see is their glowing violet blue eyes boring straight into my soul.
