When Fate Decides

Fate caught Adria, a twenty-five-year-old orphan, unawares. It was an identity she had never prepared for. She got kidnapped by the Daris pack at a wedding party she attended, after she saw one of them transform. The Daris Pack, who were so determined to end her life, were struck by the discovery they made. Adira was a werewolf, belonging to the Cardias pack, but neither she nor anyone knew about it. After the discovery, she lived in denial and struggled to accept who she was. Adira not only discovered that she might be a werewolf like the pack claimed, she was also burdened by the responsibility to the whole werewolf packs that fate placed on her shoulders. She also discovered that she might be pregnant after a one night stand she had with the Alpha. After she was captured and tortured as a slave in the Cardias pack, Adira ran away from Nimma town and totally away from the pack. But fate had decided to dictate for her, she could no longer live her normal life. Will she accept her identity and the responsibility on her shoulders as the fated one to stop the iluma moon effect or live in pain for the rest of her life if she rejects her fate? As fate unraveled, she sought for better ways to survive.

Blackmail

The lady stood for a while, she plastered a dark stare at Adira who had set to go to bed. She hated that she could not manipulate her, so she bit her lips as she thought of her next move.

"What if I spill?"

She moved to face Adira who wanted to fake sleep so badly. Adira felt it was the only way to make her leave, so she decided to fake like she had fallen asleep.

Adira didn't say a word. With her eyes still closed, she pretended to have gone to sleep. Although she knew how foolish the trick might be, there was no other way out.

"Well, I'm going to let Kara check out that thing inside of you."

She howled at Adira, not minding how loud her voice might be. She moved her rumpled blonde hair away from her face. Her brown eyes, boiling with rage, and her pouty pink lips let off some warm air. Later, she made her way to the door.

A strong grip held her abruptly from the outside of the cage. This had startled her as the grip had sent shock pans to her.

"Thought we agreed you wouldn't spill?"

Margaret sounded in a calm tone. Her black eyes, burning deep into that of the Lady, like she would pierce her soul.

"You two have refused to keep to your own end of the bargain."

The lady snapped.

"I came to know what the plans were about and your friend here has refused to say a word to me." She continued while facing Adira who had sat up and faced them.

"Maybe she hasn't been in a good mood, you can get inside let's talk."

Margaret responded.

Adira found Margaret's calmness strange. Although she never knew her to be a violent person, the Margaret she knew wasn't so kind to blackmailers. She wondered why she would want to bargain when she could easily eliminate her obstacles.

"I'm Margaret by the way, and you are?"

Margaret said, while extending her hands for a shake.

Adira chuckled loudly where she was. She couldn't understand what was happening or the games Margaret was up to.

"Sane."

No 13 responded.

She pouted her mouth to release some tension. She found it strange that someone was making her have a rethink. She knew herself to tell whatever she sees immediately she sees it, but now, she was having a rethink.

"But I'll really gain a lot if their plan is about escaping from this place."

She murmured what only she could hear.

"Let's go inside and talk."

Margaret advised.

When the two got inside, Adira moved to a corner of her cage, creating more space for the two ladies.

"We're planning to escape from here."

Margaret paused a little, reading her countenance closely.

Noticing how unsurprised Sane looked, she continued.

"And we'll put you on board if you keep shut."

"When is that?"

Sane questioned in a commanding tone.

She glanced at Adira who was already getting choked up by her presence, but she cared less. She slit her hands into the pocket of her dirty robe. She took out a chewing gum and threw it into her mouth. Adira watched Sane in disgust as she blew off the old gum she had in her mouth before throwing in the new one.

"I don't even like repeating myself, and you two are making me to!" Sane snapped, shocking the two women with her guts.

"Emm...it's on the slave auction day. We're still making plans."

Margaret sounded. Her tone became low which Adira found very awkward.

Adira chuckled again. She couldn't understand why Margaret wasn't thinking the same thing as her. She pulled Margaret to her side and whispered into her ear.

"Don't tell me you're planning to keep this silly fool alive!"

"I can't use my powers for evil, I'll die if I do so. So you better cooperate, else we're doomed."Margaret whispered back to Adira.

This sent cold shivers to Adira's spine. Confusion was plastered all over her face. She wondered how she planned on using her powers for them to escape if she wasn't going to kill an innocent person.

"What are you guys whispering to each other?"

Sane asked, her voice was still cold and commanding.

"Well, Since I'm in the escape plan, I'll just make a fair little request."

She continued. She smirked at Adira , trying to maintain eye contact with her.

"You!"

"I learnt you now wear the palace maid silk dress, true?"

Adira's eyes widened in bewilderment, she couldn't believe Sane already had information about her work in the palace.

"Who is this bloody bitch?"

She asked inwardly, as she muttered some curse words.

"What else do you know?"

Adira asked, moving closer to her. Surprise was plastered over her sad face.

"Nothing else, other than you'll be offering me those boxes of meals if you want me to remain quiet."

Sane replied, with a smirk on her face.

"You must be a joker!"

Adira snapped, cutting Sane's smirk short.

"No, I'm not darling. You'll do exactly as I said, otherwise I'll spill."

Adira stared at her in anger. She lifted her head to meet Margaret who was already motioning for her to remain calm.

"No, Spare me Margaret!"

Adira sounded, her voice was cold.

She noticed a sudden rush of blood across the veins of her hands.

She watched it vibrate violently on its own accord just for a second.

She knew some strange transformations might happen anytime soon, so she decided to calm herself down.

"Well, meet me in the pack arena tomorrow morning to hand in the food."

Sane sounded, before standing to leave.

"I think I just saw your hands vibrate, and your veins become swollen and more visible."

Margaret sounded. She looked surprised and concerned.

"You saw nothing!"

"I'm serious, you remember you said they thought you were a werewolf?"

Margaret asked.

 Angered, Adira replied

"Just the way you thought you were one."

"I know I'm one, so what do you mean by that?"

"Why don't you have a badge like the rest of us?"

"Emm, my badge...I just...I just lost it."

"And the guards allowed you to walk about without one?"

Adira watched her stutter, before she finally became mute.

"Is there something you're not telling me?"

Margaret looked away immediately, trying to avoid eye contact with her, she hated she was having such an uncomfortable conversation.

Well it would be, we're good friends, that's all that matters."

"Alright, same here. There's nothing much to share."

"Even about the blood rush?...and your hands vibrating?...and the promotion as palace maid?"

Margaret asked in confusion. She knew there was a lot to talk about.

"I don't feel like talking about this Margaret. Have a good night's rest."

Adira didn't see the need to open up to someone who wasn't comfortable enough to open up to her. She knew Margaret had hid a lot of things and each time she dug, she found out there were a lot more to find.

Feeling defeated, Margaret patted the back of her friend and crawled out of the cage.
