Chapter Three

It was the most perfect night for a ritual like the one he needed to perform. The moon was high, full as it shined its light on the earth. The border of between life and death the thinnest it would be until Hallows Eve. It was the kind of night he'd usually use to collect Souls for experiments.

He lured his sleeping older sister to him with his magic. He wouldn't risk having his ritual become known to the pure blooded magicals who knew the magic of the mind. Muggles were inherently different in that they would never remember or know what had happened near them while asleep. Magicals however while they didn't remember it personally, their magic would record it deep within their mind in a place which powerful wizards could search.

Of course he could always have her swear a magical oath after her new magic settled, or he could shield her mind. But honestly both of those were not as full proof as just not allowing her to watch the ritual. There was not much to watch either and it wouldn't matter much if the magicals actually discovered it.

Only the Lords were able to perform it. They were the Guardians and Rulers, Mother Magic choose. A practice no matter how much Lady Fate tried to interfere with, she was unable to influence. The power of the True Lords who were under the protection of the Mother, Lady Luck, Lady Life, Lady Destiny and Lord Death was far greater then her own after she rebelled against the Mother.

However while she could not affect the Lords she could affect those around them and their Fate, as she had done with Arthur Pendragon death before he united Albion and Morgana Le Fey being born the child of Uther Pendragon. All such events that led to great disasters.

He had watched all of these events expect Morgana's birth first hand as a young child, and the youngest Lord. It was also him, the Grey Lord, that was forced to interfere with the petty hatred the Light Lord Merlin and the Dark Lady Morgana had towards each other. It was the first time he and the Great Ladies and Lord above beside Mother realized the death of Lady Fate's corruption and it was when she had been thrown from the the council above.

During those times of war between Merlin and Morgana however he received many into his folds. The Lord and Lady breaking the balance as the death of magicals rose in their fight. Thus he spent a vast majority of that life researching a way to create more magicals that didn't place mother's at risk.

He continued this project alongside Merlin and Morgana once they had reconciled. They had much to learn due to their years of neglect towards their jobs. While they still searched for their purpose and role he had long learned his own.

He was the Protector of all creatures whether Dark or Light, whether Magical or not. Those that did not want to pick a side in Mother Magic's ways or those who hadn't yet to choose one. As such he didn't only accept those of magic into his folds, many of those without magic entered them as well, and if they so dearly wished or deserved it he would grant them magic.

He smiled softly as his magic sung to his sister leading her through the quiet night of the woods he had brought her. As for why he didn't just carry her was the ritual he was doing was very similar to what muggles had referred to as being Spirited Away. She was a young child being lured into another world by a force that normally had little affect on her life.

It was a concept that he'd seen many children fall prey too in Magic's times of suffering, when magic was out of balance and there wasn't enough abundant in humans or animals. Magic would lure them deep into a spring of magic as it was called a place they would remain until magic had sunken deep within them before they were released. In fact he had been a victim of it as well. Many of those in his folds had been.

The spring of magic he was bringing her to this night was the one that had lured him in. He pulled his magic away as the Lake of Spirits reached out to her. He watched in affection as she was lead deeper into the woods. The Lake of Spirits had been his home since long past.

As she passed the barrier of the lake, he followed after her slowly. Nodding his head to the glowing wisps, of those who had been once baptized by the lake though having long died, that danced around him as passed the barrier himself. He had been the first. And he would be the last. It was his fate but one not determined by any other then himself.

He walked the familiar area toward the glowing water of the lake under a shining moon. He held lightly Petunia's arm, who had stopped before the lake, and lead her into the water. As they reached the center, he slowly allowed her to fall into its depths as he rose to the waters surface. A string of his magic beginning what would become a core of her own. His head lifted towards the moon as he spoke his towards those he knew were watching.

"Mother Magic, may you and your Great Ladies and Lords above watch over my endeavors to bring you once again out into the Light of the World. That you no longer must suffer from the crowds that hide within the shadows."

He returned his gaze back down to water where his sister had sunk. "May she be the first to come to light in a rising new age of this World."

Tell me if you have any questions. But I will be honest I literally had no idea what to do for the ritual but there is baptism in my religion so I decided to go with that. Sorry if that doesn’t work for some of you reader!
