Monthly competition

At around four in the evening, Kiran, Caleb and Mikey were already at Challenge martial art academy. Challenge martial art academy was one of the top martial art school were most rich families would bring their kids to learn, so they can defend themselves from harm.

Today was one of their monthly competition, where they have to make the students compete against one another, so they can know how far they have improved and be able to reshuffle the leaderboard.

"This competition would be a very quick and short one this time around, so listen up, we won't be doing it as the usual knockout, this time around those who are not among the top ten has my permission to challenge any of the previous top ten, and so are those who want to go up in rank in the top ten, if you think you are strong enough to defeat any of the top rankers then they can challenge them and anyone who has been challenged three times can't be challenged again" said Hudson one of the Martial art teacher.

Unsurprisingly, the first person to raise his hands to challenge was Mikey, he didn't waste anytime in picking Kiran who was currently the number one in rank.

"Come on man, why do you always have to be the first one to go against me" said Kiran while sighing.

"Well, Kiran if you don't have any problem with defending your position, then please step forward and accept his challenge" said Hudson as he gesture Kiran to walked forward.

Kiran walked forward to meet his opponent without much sign of trouble, his confidence was something almost everybody has gotten used to

After exchanging their greetings and positioning themselves, Hudson quickly blow on the whistle as a sign of them to begin. The moment Mikey heard the sound of the whistle, he quickly rush forward while throwing a powerful kick towards Kiran which he block with his hand.

The moment he finished blocking the kick, what followed next was a furry of punches directed towards his face.

Kiran quickly reposition himself and started blocking all the punches one after the other, although some few did hit him on his stomach, but he didn't let that affect him form blocking the rest of the punches.

To most of them, Kiran was blocking all the punches without much difficultly, but the strength behind those punches wasn't something to joke with.

After what looks like an endless barrage of punches, Kiran finally distance himself from Mikey, the distance he so needed to escape from what seems like an endless attack of punches had finally been given to him.

Mikey couldn't help himself than to curse under his breath, he knew the fact that he has given Kiran some space to escape from his attacks was a bad idea and would make it hard for him to get that kind of opportunity again.

Rushing at him carelessly would only make him lose this match, both of them just stood some few meters away from each other, waiting for who want to attack first.

"Come on man, I thought you wanted to get the first position so badly, so why are you standing there instead of coming at me with everything you got" said Kiran trying to taunt Mikey so he could attack him.

"It's surprising how you were even able to take the first position last month, I can clearly see you don't deserve it, come on, show me how you were able to come out first" said Mikey.

"Very well, if you want me to go all out, then that's what I'm going to do" said Kiran as he sprint forward in a fast pace.

Mikey on seeing him coming to attack, he quickly ready himself to block whatsoever was to come his way.

What came first was a spinning kick from Kiran which Mikey block but after blocking the kick, he noticed that Kiran other leg was now coming directly for his ribs, a double spinning kick was what Kiran used in the attack.

Mikey quickly try to block that attack ad he moved his hand to block it but he was a little too late as the kick landed on the side of his stomach.

The force behind the kick was do powerful that Mikey has to use all is his strength to prevent himself from falling. Kiran didn't give him a single chance to rest as he rush forward again, this time around he threw a fist which Mikey block at the last second despite the pain he was in.

The moment he finished blocking the fist, he could see Kiran now bending over to clear him off his feet.

He raise his foot that Kiran was going for, but still wasn't enough to dodge the attack completely as Kiran clear him off the ground. A loud sound was heard the moment Mikey back touch the ground.

The moment he opened his eyes after hitting the ground, he could see a fist already directed towards his face, but it stopped a few inches from it.

"Well, I'm sure that's the end of that" said teacher Hudson as he looked at the fist which was a few inches form Mikey face.

"Shit, I can't believe I lost, the first position just slipped through my fingers all for a little trick" said Mikey as he took the hand extended to him by Kiran.

"Keep dreaming bro, even if my eyes were close, you still wouldn't have beaten me" said Kiran which causes both of them to laugh.

"I'm I really that unlucky today, is this what they call hard luck, first it was a bet with Lydia which I lost, now it's a bet on martial art and I have just lost it also" said Mikey.

"Next time you should have listen to me when I tell you not to bet" said Kiran.

"Next, who wishes to challenge Kiran or any of the top rankers?" asked Hudson.
