“Come closer to the mantel, I’m lighting a fire.”
“I’m not that cold, I have a coat remember?”
“I have a coat as well, but I still need a fire.” He smiled and shook his head. There was no fighting her, he thought, and joined her.
“What next? Hot cocoa?” She smiled up at him,
“That won’t be bad, you know. I can’t believe I didn’t think about it.” His smile only grew as she rose. He really had missed living with her.
“I wasn’t being serious.”
“I know, but it isn’t a bad idea. Give me a moment.”
She hurried to the kitchen and heated for water for the hot cocoa and was back in minutes with two filled mugs.
“Thank you.” He said, receiving the mug, and then she sat down beside him watching the embers of the flame as it licked at the wood.
