Promise?

Claire was horrified. A juvenile detention center? That was exactly what she hadn't wanted for any of those kids! It was the whole reason she and Alex risked breaking into headquarters in the first place!

Ethan had goodness in him; she had seen it. But whatever light he had inside of him would be extinguished if he was stuck inside a place like that around people who had chosen lives of crime. 

He may have been raised as a super soldier with the intention of having him kill people later but he hadn't done any of that yet. He was just a pitiful brainwashed kid who wanted to be loved but kept getting stuck in bad foster homes. 

"You can't do that!" she insisted. "Whatever happened today…I'm sure there was an explanation. And the other kid didn't get hurt that bad and you said no charges are being filed. He isn't a criminal so he can't be sent there!"
