Attack on BrightMoon Palace

BrightMoon Palace. Moon elf's sacred palace. The one and only palace in MoonElf Dukedom. King Sikacak together with his fiance Comel already left the palace hours ago. Marching together with them were the first and second battalion of MoonElf Royal Army.

Before they left the palace, King Sikacak himself entrusted the safety of the Capital City to his youngest sister. Princess Manissa who accepted the responsibility was made the commander of MoonElf Guard Army temporarily.

"Do we really need to have this meeting?"

"I don't know. The princess asked for it."

"Can't be helped. The king appointed her as the temporary commander."

Two elven guard's lieutenant were complaining as they rushed toward the meeting room. They felt that the princess was just abusing her power. There was no need for them to even fight. The Capital City was always safe.

There was only two known entrance to MoonElf Dukedom if airborne was excluded. Since their enemy was the DemonBlood Dukedom which consisted of Goblin Kingdom and Great Ogre Tribe, there was absolutely no need for them to fear enemies from the sky.

As for the two entrance, both of them should be intercepted by General Sicantik army and King Sikacak army respectively. There was totally no way for the capital city to be attacked by the enemy.

"But, the princess is rumored to be a seer."

"And you believe that?"

"She was young. She was only twenty years old this year. What seer? She might just spouting nonsense."

A young lieutenant joined the conversation but he was rebuked by the others right away. He felt dejected because he only voiced his opinion but these old timers were talking as if there was no way for the princess to be a true seer.

Seer were rare. They were even rumored to be as rare as prophet. They even had similarities as they both could more or less predict the future. In the case of seer, they heard whispers. Whispers in the form of riddles which mostly described events in near future.

They reached the meeting room soon after and the princess was already inside the room with a dozen other lieutenants. The meeting was already started.

"The three of you are late. Get in fast and close that door."

The princess's close aide shouted at the three lieutenant who just entered the meeting room. The atmosphere in the room was tense.

"What is there to be tense of? The princess is just making things..."

"INSOLENCE!"

The oldest lieutenant inside the meeting room bellowed in anger. He stared dagger at the lieutenant who made that baseless remarks. He was even ready to unsheathe his blade to attack.

"It's okay, Sir Garang. He is just unaware of our situation."

The princess's voice was like a melody, easily soothing the anger of anyone who listened to her. The old lieutenant immediately calmed down as he humphed and focused his gaze back to the map on top of the table.

"Situation? What situation?"

That same lieutenant who had been rebuked in public immediately asked one of his friend inside the room for more information. His friend then told him the reason why they were called for this emergency meeting.

Goblins were spotted outside Capital City one hour ago.

"WHAT??"

That lieutenant couldn't help but shouted unintentionally. That news was just too shocking. The Capital City was the heart of MoonElf Dukedom. It had been centuries since the last time a goblin ever set foot near the city.

"And now you know, fool."

Sir Garang sneered at that lieutenant who was shocked senseless. Their situation was really that bad.

"If not because the guard believed in the princess and sent their scouts, we won't even know what hit us when that time come."

Another lieutenant added.

Even after figuring out the enemies, the situation of Capital City was still dire. The total number of MoonElf Guard Army was around two thousands while the enemy spotted outside were at least five thousands. They could numbered up to ten thousands or even more.

There was now a lot of wooden block placed on top of the map on the table in the meeting room. They signified the location of their supposed to be enemies and also the distribution of their own guard army.

The princess herself was quite accomplished in military tactic. Most of the lieutenant nodded in agreement every time the princess explained the reason for the army placement.

"That concludes this emergency meeting. I pray that everyone here survive this ordeal together."

That line from the princess signaled the ending of their meeting. Just before everyone left the meeting room, one of the lieutenant asked a question to the princess in a grave tone.

"Can we really survive this night?"

The one who asked that was a new lieutenant. He wavered at the fact that the enemies might even have ten times their number. Not to mention that their MoonElf Guard Army was just a second rate army, totally incomparable to the MoonElf Royal Army.

Facing that question, the princess smiled before she answered with a question.

"Do you want to know the truth or a lie?"

Her alluring and calming voice echoed inside the meeting room. With her power as a seer, she might already knew the outcome of this fight.

With everyone focusing their gaze on her, even the princess felt intimidated by it. She was after all only a bronze ranked insane boss. She was not even silver ranked. She had a long way to go before she could compare with her brother the king who was already a top gold ranked insane boss.

"Well..."

The moment the princess started talking, the meeting room turned silent. Everyone was waiting for her next word.

"To be honest, I'm not sure either. But..."

"But?"

Everyone in the meeting room couldn't help but repeat that word reflexively.

"We will surely win if we can hold on till dawn."

Those words from the princess was more than enough to light a survival beacon on the heart of everyone present. They only need to fight to their heart content for one night. That was what their princess said. That was what the seer said. And that alone was enough. Enough for these guards to bet their lives for.

----------------------------------------------

Three hour passed since the start of the siege at BrightMoon Palace. The number of able guards was now downed to less than five hundreds. More than five hundred had died while the others were badly injured that they couldn't even hold their weapon anymore.

The number of their enemies were not five thousands. It was not ten thousands either. It was insanely twenty five thousand in total. It was already a miracle by itself for the city to still not been breached by those goblins.

The enemy leader was just one silver ranked insane boss. He was the Goblin General Gomen, a hobgoblin to be exact. His two aide were also hobgoblins which were bronze ranked insane boss respectively. The three of them were the only hobgoblin in this army.

MoonElf Guards Army individual prowess was comparable to their opponents. If only their elites army was here, repelling this army of goblins would be an easy task. But now, their survival itself was questionable.

"Princess. You should prepare yourself to leave the city."

The princess's close aide pleaded her. He only wanted the princess to survive. He didn't even care about his own life. He knew that it was humiliating for an elf to flee. None of the elven warrior could live that shamefully with how prideful elves was.

"No. I won't leave. These guards are fighting because they believed in me. I can't just leave them and save myself. I'm also a proud elf."

The princess was adamant on not leaving. Her eyes were firm. She was even willing to die together with all these guards if it came to that. There was only one thing she regret, the fact that she couldn't hold on till dawn.

"Bright light illuminates all..."

"Army of gods descends..."

"River of blood remains..."

"Elves survives yet again."

Those whispers once again echoed in Princess Manissa's mind. It might be because she tried hard to remember it when she first heard it of maybe because her end was coming soon, that whisper sounded extremely clear right now.

"Sorry everyone. I have failed you all."

"It's not your fault princess. This is a losing battle even before it started."

Princess Manissa smiled as she looked at the faces of her aide and the lieutenants present. Dying together with these proud soldiers was not that bad.

"You guys ready for our final charge?"

With how things was, the town gate was doomed to be breached within minutes. They had no option left to choose from. Now that the princess had stated her intention to fight till her last breath, the others could only agree with her.

"We stand by your side, my princess."

"To the death."

One after another, they voiced out their determination to follow the princess. Today might be the day they breath their last yet they never had the thought of fleeing. They were prideful. Even if they knew only death awaited them, they would never cower. They were elves. The word retreat never was in their vocabulary.

" CharrrrrEEEEEEHHH WHATS THAT??!!!"

The usually calm and aloof princess was totally out of character when she shouted in disbelief before finishing the word she was about to say previously.

The dark sky turned bright all of a sudden. It was even brighter than dawn. The beginning of twilight at damn was a slow process yet this current bright light was instant. It illuminated the surrounding area as if the sun itself was coming down.

"The sun coming down? No it's not right!"

The princess's aide shouted. He couldn't accept the fact that the sun really was falling down. A huge spherical flaming mass of molten lava covered in yellow flame was really coming down from the sky. Its target was the goblin's main army.

"KEBABOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!"

A huge mushroom smoke explosion with at least three kilometer in diameter erupted right after that miniature sun landed on top of the goblin's army. Nobody knew how many goblins perished under that terrifying explosion. Even the outer wall of Capital City was demolished by the aftershock of that explosion.

"What in the world..."

Princess Manissa was speechless. This was the first time in her life she saw something so bizarre. A miniature sun dropped down from the sky in the middle of the night. What else could top that?

Surprisingly, there were around three thousand goblins who survived that overwhelming explosion. They themselves were shocked by it. They thought that they would surely die when that miniature sun landed on top of them but they miraculously survived.

The crater caused by that explosion spanned at least three kilometers. There was no more army's formation in sight at the scene. Be it the goblin army or elven army, both of them were now in a confusion, a total disorder.

"BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOOOM!!"

Even before the smoke from the previous explosion subsides, several small exploding sound echoed again in the battlefield. It resounded three time to be exact.

As the smoke around the area dispersed bit by bit, three humanoid silhouette were now visible to those present. The three small exploding sound from earlier was actually the sound of their crash landing.

Standing atop small craters produced by their own landing, three heroic figure stood gallantly in front of the three thousand goblin survivors.

-----------------------------------------

One young man cladded in crimson armor with twin blade unsheathed. There was even a small dragon wrapped on his neck. Not too far from the young man were two woman. One female knight in pink armor with her huge shield and lastly another female warrior cladded in golden armor with her huge golden great sword pointed toward the sky.

These three were none other than Red Wargod Mays, Pink Demon Ria and Golden Reaper Hallel.

"Who? Who are you people?"

One of the goblin survivor closest to the three asked in bewilderment. He had no clue as of who those people were.

"I'm your worst nightmare!"

"Cease and desist, pussycat!"

Before Mays could proudly announced himself, the other two already uttered their line which was obviously a quote from some famous show. Mays shook his head and decided not to say anything else as he observed his surroundings.

That miniature sun from earlier was actually Golden Luminary's ultimate skill [Golden Brilliance Solar], a skill on par with both [Chaotic Apocalypse Slash] and [Elemental Resonance].

[Golden Brilliance Solar] could instakill any enemies below level fifty but it could only deal ten percent damage to others at silver rank and above. That was the reason why a weak silver ranked normal monster could survive that attack. True that this skill might seemed useless and overly showy against top level players but it was extremely useful in guild and territory wars. Too bad Hallel was not in any guild hence this skill couldn't be exploited.

"KILL THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEM!!!"

A loud shout empowered by [Taunting Roar] immediately made all the goblin survivors regained their composure. Those who were close to Mays and the rest rushed toward them with killing intent. They knew for sure that these newcomer were their enemy.

"Flaming Slash!"

One goblin burned to ashes by Mays's casual strike.

"Shield Bash!"

One goblin smacked into meat paste by Ria.

"Shining Strike!"

Another goblin got incinerated into dust by Hallel.

"Void Thrust!" "Shining Slash!" "Purgatory!"

One after another, the goblin survivors who leapt toward Mays and his people died in matter of seconds. As if they were just taking a stroll, Mays and the other two easily walked forward without being held back at all.

Normal silver ranked goblin were killed without corpse remained. Silver ranked intermediate bosses managed to withstand several blow before they were killed. Elites of the goblin army were swatted away like flies in front of Mays and his companions. The three insane boss hobgoblin were gnashing their teeth in anger as they watched this scene unfold.

"Those three... Who are they?"

"They're strong. Too strong!"

"Who are they?"

The elven guard who was still alive were now totally in awe at how monstrously strong Mays and his companion were.

"They are the god's army."

The princess spoke all of a sudden amidst the confusion of the elven guards.

"God's army?"

"Army with just three people? What kind of army is that?"

Most of the elven guard survivor had their eyes glued on the princess. They obviously wanted to know more about these mysterious people who came to their aid.

"I dont know either."

Princess Manissa shrugged her shoulder as she really didn't know the answer. She only heard the whisper a few hours ago. She didn't even know if these people were the one who was supposed to be the savior of the elves.

"Bright light illuminates all..."

"Army of gods descends..."

"River of blood remains..."

"Elves survives yet again."

"That was the whisper I heard earlier today. You guys can interpret it however."

Without any other alternative, Princess Manissa reiterate the whisper she heard slowly and clearly for her elven brethren to think about it. Revealing it was better than being rained down with questions which she didn't even know the answer of.

"GODKINS! HOW DARE YOU COME HERE TO OUR DEMON CONTINENT?!"

Goblin General Gomen shouted angrily. He finally realized who these people in front of him were. These godkins came out of nowhere and wrecked their plan when they were just inches away from securing victory against the elves.

"Ah, I thought all goblin were brainless. It's a miracle how you can even recognize us."

With his usual noncommittal tone, Mays taunted the goblin general without any hint of fear. In fact, after knowing that there were no gold ranked insane and intermediate bosses among all these goblins, he already lose his motivation to continue fighting.

Mays then sat on top of a make shift chair made by the stacking of goblin corpses before he continued.

"Whose idea it is to mount a sneak attack on the elven capital? I don't think any of you goblin are clever enough to do so."

As if he was chatting with a friend, there really was no rage or fury in his tone. There was not even any discontent. That tone of his obviously made the goblin general fumed. It was like they were treated as mere ant, unworthy of his attention.

"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE??!! DAMN GODKIN!!"

The goblin general was obviously enraged to the core. He was about to jump over and strike Mays but he was stopped by his aide. His aide then whispered something to him which made him calmed down.

Brushing off the dust all over his armor, the goblin general kept his silent despite his burning anger. He knew that he couldn't win against this godkin in a fair fight. But now, the situation was actually on his side. He still had around three thousand people while there were only three of these godkins.

Mays who was still beseated observed the action of that goblin general and his aide without taking any action. Unlike both muscle brain Ria and Hallel who was competing over their kill counts, Mays was busy predicting the real reason as for why this war started.

"Soldiers, formations!"

One simple command from the goblin general and every able bodied goblins immediately group up and organized themselves. Those who was about to engage in battle against Ria and Hallel were also coming up and filling in the rank, leaving the two female terminator alone.

Soon enough, all the goblin soldiers stood in an orderly manner behind the goblin general without making any additional sound. Their discipline were quite high. Even Mays was somewhat awed by that demonstration. He thought that low class demi human such as goblins were not proficient in something like formation.

Mays was not planning to interrupt whatever the goblins planned on doing. He was intrigued at what these goblin could do after they were cornered. The main point was because of how unfulfilling this fight had been. He had no chance to rampage at all since these goblins were too weak.

The crater produced by that miniature sun was now the perfect landscape for the goblin's army formation. Now that every single goblin was in their designated position, the goblin commander grinned before he gave the command.

"Activate the formation!"
