WANTED : RUNAWAY GROOM

COMPLETED Getting engaged at a young age had been a nightmare for Alexander, so he stayed away as much so he could shirk his duties. Camellia, on the other hand, looked forward to the day they would get joined in matrimony forever. So when Alexander came back without acknowledging her existence, Camellia took it as a challenge to make him fall deeply in love with her.

What Is Love?

"Anything else?" Adam asked, and placed all the things Camellia asked earlier.

As she shook her head, she patted the seat at her side signalling him to sit, "Are you okay?"

"Me?" Even though he was puzzled with her question, he smiled because of her pure heart. "I am the one who is supposed to ask whether you are okay or not."

Waving her right hand immediately, "No, I am okay. See…" She smiled widely, pointed at her dimples that he loves.

Adam chuckled, "Don't sleep late, you still have tomorrow. Tell me if you need anything else, I will bring them right away." He stood up, ready to leave the room. "Good night." Closing the door, he opened it back, "Don't stay up late."

"Yes, I know." She was all smiles. To be honest she himself felt more like home here then at her own home.

About a minute passed, and the door to her room opened again, "I said I know-" She stopped when Alexander was the one that appeared behind the door.

"I knocked, " He entered, glancing shortly at the door. "Oh, it looks like you already have everything." Alexander's eyes spotted the stationery and drawing block that were on the table.

Looking at the paper bag that he brought along, her eyes rounded in curiosity. As he realised it, Alexander tried to hide it behind his legs; it was still clearly visible to her eyes, as it was too big to be covered.

"Did you bring it for me?" She stood up with a smile on her face. Excitedly walking towards him, she tried to look at the plastic bag but he moved the bag swiftly so she couldn't peek inside. "Isn't it for me?" She squinted her eyes and pulled her right lips into a lopsided.

"Not anymore." He said then looked around the room. "Well I guess it is true, dad loves you more." The room was smaller than his but yup, the interior and everything inside were designed with so much care.

Checking it out one more time, he only saw white and pink colours, he smirked then asked, "So you like pink?"

"No."

"No?"

"Yes. I like yellow." Camellia said without hesitation.

"Yellow?" He glanced at her phone on the table, then his eyes ran to the sling bag that she brought today and of course he clearly remembered her car's colour, it was white, no hint of yellow at all.

"Ahh, because it didn't seem right, right?" She smiled but then she suddenly thought of something and it made her smile widen. "Oh, but I can show something that I wear in yellow today if you want." She winked her eyes playfully.

Alexander could read her mind when he saw the sneaky smiles on her lips. "No, thanks."

"Ah, are you sure?" She looked at him with teasing eyes. She was just kidding obviously.

"Stop it. I told you, that cheap move will get you more perverts." And here was the man who was always serious.

"Excuse me? Did you just say cheap?" She crossed her arms and pursed her lips.

"You did-"

"Yes, and only with you! Get the facts straight. I'm acting like this only with you." She cut Mr. You Did's words. She could recite the same sentences back if she wanted, they were already imprinted in her mind. She could feel the hotness in her head as the anger reached the top. Camellia loved to tease him like that because of his reaction, but she guessed this would be the last time she did this kind of joke. Being called cheap certainly was something unpleasant to hear.

"And why?"

"Because you're my fiancé, I need to make you fall in love with me." For Camellia, marriage must consist of love, trust and respect. To make it happen, it took two to tango.

"Then you're doing it wrong." He put the paper bag down, finding it distracting.

"So how do you do it?" She lifted her chin and eyes, looking at the 186cm man in front of her right now.

"Love…" He moved forward, closing the distance between them, "it should come both ways."

"I love you." Of course she said it without hesitation, that was what she was thinking. Marriage, love, trust, respect, all came both ways.

Her blunt words changed the expression on his face. He found that she was being careless with the word love. "Do you know what you just said?"

"Do you mean, I love you?" She asked, and didn't know what she did wrong. She was confident with her feelings. "Yes, I know."

"You are in love with me?" He saw Camellia nodding to his question, "The man that you met twelve years ago, ONCE, and just appeared in front of you, like now and you said you love me?" He just couldn't bring himself to believe what he just heard. He didn't think that the word love could be declared that easily.

"Is it hard to believe?" Her face contorted in displeasure. She knew loving someone at the first sight was ridiculous to someone, and to make it more absurd, it's coming from the girl that fell in love when she was ten. It sounded like child play, right?

"Yes! Who would believe such nonsense!" After Melinda left and betrayed him, she found the girl that said the words 'I love you' easily was the kind of girl that he could not trust anymore. The sentence 'I love you' was like a song to Melinda, she would say them to him like a daily routine. But then, what happened? She married someone else, leaving him clueless.

Camellia fell silent after the loud yell. If waiting for twelve years for the men that she met once was not love, then what was? If the feeling of missing just by looking at his picture was not love, then what should it be? If it was not love every time her heart beat like crazy when she faced him, then please tell her what it was?

"Find it ridiculous now, right?" He mocked her after the silence. A smirk appeared on his face as he was saying, "Please, don't easily say the words I love you, if you don't know the exact meaning of it."

"If you are the master of the word love, then tell me, what is love?" She asked him, her eyes reddening. She didn't know why she felt so emotional but mocking her love just because his definition of love was different from her was so unfair.

Both of them stare at each other in silence.
