Roan entered the crypt and he lit up a torch as he entered. One by one, he lights up the torches on the walls and sees that it has wide space inside. The walls have patterns of curved lines and at the center of the crypt was a hero that killed a dragon and he was resting atop the head. A spear was embedded on the forehead and he raised his shield as he conquered the enemy.
Roan then saw the tomb at the center and crouched after he saw that the stone coffin had engravings on its surface.
"To the dear Hero Eurlund that killed the Evil Dragon Beyruth. An unsung tale has to be told to the next generations as your heroic deeds in the past were eternal. That you killed the dragon that enslaved humanity once and for all." the engravings ended there as Roan heard coffins shake. He was startled at what could that be.
From where the coffins were, stood up skeletons that had armor with them. They were not summoned by a necromancer as Roan would think of it but were cursed humans that rise with every person that disturbs their rest.
They have the looks of generals from the third era as Roan has seen their armors in his study of lores of the game. They were currently in the fourth era and the time of the game still moves and was counting.
"Who dares to disturb our rest! We will not let any intruder trespass and rob the great hero!" shouted one of the three undying.
"I am not here to desecrate your crypt but was asked to retrieve the scroll of the guardians. By a prophet, if you want to ask. We need the guidance of the Guardians in these perilous times," Roan carefully explained his point of why he was inside the crypt. Not wanting to disrespect the dead.
"That will not do mortal. We are cursed to protect the great hero and the scroll he held. Know who? By the guardians themselves. They don't want their locations to be revealed as they were hiding from the Demon Gods. Destroying it was not an option as it was indestructible. Your only path to choose was to turn around and go away or fight us to death!" the hammer user said to him.
"There will be three tests. You will face each one of us on each test and if you defeat us then you can talk to our master. Sounds reasonable, yes?" another general that held a spear said with a bursting voice.
Roan then drew his longsword from his back and then smirked, "You know what is my answer,"
"Fool!" the sword user general shouted.
Roan then dashed towards them and their blades clashed. Roan was not holding back as his enemies were seasoned fighters. And a mishap was not even a good thing. And so he held the sword with two hands and bit his lower lips.
Roan was attacked by the sword user and he swiftly slashed with his weapon. A combo of left and right diagonal slashes were executed but they were parried with his sword. The enemy then laughed in an insulting tone to intimidate him.
"Give your best shot!" he said as they still dueled.
Roan then used the Kali weapon technique by countering his enemy.
Roan then changed his sword style from samurai to kali martial arts. With a slash from the enemy, he parried the sword to the side then he elbowed his head in a flash. Making his helmet thrown away.
Roan then was slashed by the general and he ducked. Using a leg sweep at him made the general stumbled down in the process. Making him crash to the ground and then Roan stepped on his face.
"Surrender," Roan then made his eyes glow by using his glare skill at him.
"Oh, I surrender,"
"Good."
"But you need to fight the others," he replied.
Roan then was attacked by the Spear General. A fury of thrusts was executed and Roan parried every single one of them. Though not all was deflected. Several thrusts were able to stab his iron armor. Sparks flew as the weapon made its way toward the surface. Making several dents in the process.
Roan was alarmed and he clicked his tongue. Spearmanship of the enemy was on the grandmaster level. He could only hope to survive the next enemy.
The enemy then swings his spear and Roan blocked each swing. A maneuver of left and right swings then rotating the spear and thrusts.
Roan was alarmed, he needed to attack and so he retaliated. Dashing near his Centerpoint, he closed the distance and then grabbed him in the hands. His enemy was light and so he slammed him on the ground. Kicking his spear away from him then grappled him using jiu-jitsu. The enemy can't move at all with his grapple.
"I surrender!"
"Me next!" the Hammer General shouted.
He dashed and swings his weapon downwards. Making Roan evade and let go of his opponent. The weapon struck the floor and the floor cracked.
"Such strength!" Roan muttered in amazement.
Roan then knew what to do. The enemy swings his weapon and then Roan evaded each swing. Smashing his face with a gentle fist that made the enemy agitated as his helmet was turning around. Roan then used a scissor-leg takedown climbing his back and enveloping the neck of the enemy with both legs and then slamming him to the ground.
"What is that move?" he was shocked.
"Secret," Roan then lends his hands for him to stand up.
The opponent then was amazed and he grabbed his hands as he stood up.
"You win and defeated all of us. You may talk to our master," The Hammer General said to him.
After it, the stone coffin moved and an armored skeleton grabbed the top of the coffin and stood up. A gold full-plated armor with a red tattered cape on his back.
"I am Eurlund mortal, you defeated my generals and so you are worthy to talk to me. What is your goal of going here?" he asked.
Roan was baffled. Still panting with all those fights that happened.
"I wish to acquire the scroll of the guardians. As we wanted to seek the guidance of guardians in these perilous times," Roan was straight to the point. No time to waste.
"Ah I see, with the honor of defeating the generals, you are worthy to carry on the task with which I am bestowed. You must protect the scroll of the guardians at all costs. The mission of finding them was up to you if you will ask their guidance. Just don't let it be in evil's hands," he said in a cold echoing voice.
"I will assure you that it will be in good hands," Roan said to him. Assuring him that it will be safe with it in his possession.
"And lastly, End my life as I wanted to have eternal rest. In turn, you will be rewarded with the Generals serving you as their next master," he said in a lonely voice.
"Why? You are a hero yes? Help us in defeating the evils," Roan questioned him.
"That task will be passed to my Generals. I am powerless in this form, bounded only here in this lonely place. I couldn't set foot outside my crypt as I needed to protect the scroll," he briefly explained.
Roan then was clarified by his speech. And so, he agreed to his offer.
"I see, well this is goodbye. Thank you for your efforts and longsuffering. You will be rewarded someday," Roan then stood straight and saluted at him.
"Well thank you, this is goodbye," he said then gave him the scroll. Roan received it and then put it inside his bag.
"Serve him well," Eurlund said to the generals.
"Yes master!" they shouted with a bolstering voice.
The hero then kneeled and bowed down. His head is on the floor. Roan then decapitated him with a sword and the head rolled. Ending his life.
Soon, streaks of white specks of light emitted from him and it vanished. Making his generals kneel once more in his last moments.
"I, the Sword General will serve you!"
"I, the Spear general will serve you!"
"I, the Hammer General will serve you!"
