Void Mage’s Proposal

Mage? Swordsman? Countless Worlds? Infinite magic power? A student of Lemore Academy Shito Mahinu was forced to go to an academy that was for mages despite wanting to become a swordsman. A person who lacks motivation but likes swinging his sword around. Magic was something that he already grasped so going to a school to learn more about was something he didn’t want to do. And his sister was known throughout the world as the ‘strongest’ mage in existence, but there were more secrets that lurked in the world, in which the public had no idea about. This is a story about an overpowered protagonist, who wants to spend time with his family and journey through the world without using his full power to fight.

Episode 22- Status Window

"It looks like I finally get to rest…"

Tenka collapsed on the bed that was at the far end of the room, she was very fast to the point that the human eye could barely keep up with her. She wanted to hurry up to lay down—even though she wasn't exhausted.

"Why are you laying down so early?" Shito asked, "There is no reason for you to be so worried about anything—or for that matter be tired…"

After all, you should have enough stamina to fight for decades… however, that's not something you need to know for right now. Shito thought, finishing his sentence with his thoughts—because as he said, it wasn't time for her to know that yet.

Shito's gaze shifted once more, and he looked toward his daughters who were lying on the bed. They had jumped off his shoulder as soon as they arrived in the room, but since he could sense them at all times, he decided not to do or say anything.

He started walking towards the bed that Tenka was lying down on— and directly laid down beside her. At the moment, she was not sleeping, but she was dozing off—so it was clear that she was about to fall asleep.

But in what seemed to be instantaneous, Tenka had grabbed Shito and pulled him into a tight hug, it wasn't something that was done intentionally since she was on the verge of falling asleep. Furthermore, she thought of him as a teddy bear, and soon after grabbing his body, she fell asleep, hugging him tightly as if he were a living teddy bear.

Shito brought his index finger forward…

"Well, it's time to go to sleep," his gaze shifted toward his daughter who was still wide awake. "I don't care what the two of you do, but make sure you put up a barrier to keep your sounds from getting out—because you might wake up your mother."

"Ok, we can do that for you Papa,"

After hearing them say that Shito snapped his finger—and all of the lights in the room suddenly turned off. While the room had a light switch in it, the room was programmed to be able to use the things inside of it at the cost of one's mana. So that meant that anyone could cut off the lights or for that matter even flush the toilets if they decided to use mana.

Illayaka turned her gaze towards her sister who was sitting up, waiting for her to do something. After all, she said that she was going to show her some stuff.

"Before we can do anything we are going to have to put a barrier up."

Illya nodded her hand in agreement while smiling cutely, "Yes, that's something that we must do before we can get started right?"

Kyaaa, big sister is so cute. That smile must be protected, Illayaka thought, as she reached her hand out in an attempt to grab her big sister's hand.

Once she grabbed her sister's hand, the two of them started channeling mana, and a colorless barrier formed over their bed. They made sure to only cover their bed because if they didn't the people inside their barrier would still be affected.

The barrier was put up, and no sound was going to escape the barrier, but they went a little further than what they were told to do—and since there were people around the area, they decided to put up a barrier that allowed no physical attacks or magical attacks to bypass the barrier. Furthermore, they would be notified if someone were to touch the barrier.

Naturally, they would put a barrier that would kill the person that would touch it, but since the others might walk into their room and touch them—the reason for that was that they didn't want to kill their friends.

I don't think my sister ever played games before…Hold up I wonder if I can create a status window like the ones that show up in games. Illayaka thought as she shifted her gaze to her big sister who was moving closer to her.

Illya moved to a spot that was close to her sister, so they could sit directly beside each other.

"What are you going to do?"

Illayaka looked forward and started to use her mana, creating something in the air, as she was thinking of Lucia and she said, "I am going to create a screen for use to look at stats."

"Are you talking about the things people see in games?!" Illya asked.

After she spoke those words, she looked at her sister confused, How did she know about that… she had known about that kind of stuff since receiving her father's blood. I forgot that it greatly boosted our knowledge. To a point that we are currently around the same level if not smarter than the average college student in my original world.

"Yes, I mean the same things we see in games."

A screen suddenly popped up in front of them—and both of them turned their gazes to the black screen. On it, they saw a picture of Lucia and there were white symbols on the screen…

"Woowwwww, that's so interesting! Aunty Lucia is really strong!" Illya shouted in a voice that was filled with excitement. "Can you please show me more?"

Illayaka smirked, hearing her sister's request. "Of course, I can do that for you. You are my older sister, and I plan to give you the best experience."

Saying that, she moved her hand simultaneously creating screens with the pictures of everyone including their father and Mother. The statuses and skills were being imprinted in the screen simultaneously However, status windows are things that people don't use anymore, and if mages do use them— it is to figure out the skills they have. But anyway.

"Hmm, everyone is strong…" Illya trailed off before continuing, "But where is Father's screen."

Illya's gaze shifted to the left, and she noticed a screen that was glitching. The only visible part of the screen was a name that could barely be read. A name that was flashing through every single color. It was plainly obvious that the screen was malfunctioning and couldn't handle analyzing his power.

Name: Shito Mahinu

DEF:?????????

"It's right there, Big Sister…"

Illya examined the screen that was before her, and in an instant, she figured out the screen was malfunctioning. And then, it started to glitch.

The screen had completely malfunctioned to the point that the only thing that was on the purely black screen was the nines that shot across the screen.

"...It looks like the screens can't handle his power. Well, that is something that should be expected, after all, father is extremely powerful." Illayaka said softly as she grabbed her sister's hand, pulling her onto the bed. Once they fell on the bed, they lay with their faces pointed at the ceiling.

Illayaka looked over at her older sister and smiled. "What are you doing big sister? We can do a lot more if you want to."

"There's not much I want to do now. I have you and my parents by my side since you all will be by my side. What more can a child my age ask for?"

Wow… Big sister is honest with her feelings. I wonder what she went through in the past. Although I can look into her memories… I am not the type to do that because we both have secrets, so the only thing I can do is ask her.

After the thought of asking her sister the question about her past, Illayaka grabbed her hands and smiled before asking. "Hey big sister, what happened in your past? I never had a chance to figure it out."

Illya's reply was immediate. "I have been through a lot in the past. I was raised to be an assassin, but Mama and Papa helped me and even made me their child. So, I am really happy to have them in my life. And not only that… I had the chance to have a little sister. You all are my family now—and that is something that makes me happy."

"Wha—!?" At Illya's reply, the young girl known as Illayaka appeared to be absolutely dumbfounded. "You were trained to be an assassin Big sister."

"Yeah… Even though I did not have the emotions to decide it for myself. I was once an assassin."

There is no way those low-life assassins forced my sister to become an assassin, Illayaka thought, I would say I am going to kill them, but knowing father… the assassins are already in the depths of hell. So, I should let them go for now. However, if I was to catch those low lives—I am going to push them even farther into the depths of hell.

After answering her younger sister's question, her gaze landed on Illayaka's face. "Ok. Now that you have heard about my past. Can I hear about yours?"
