The first month of the first semester part 2

During the month where everyone was working hard Max was not slacking off. He was doing his normal routine for fighting the level six bot. The improvement was minimal. He was stuck. He did not feel discouraged by this. The important part was the process and not the result. With the right process you will get towards the right result. Max also continued learning alchemy. He got the information for another non official grade of the system of alchemical products. The system first told Max that you had only four levels of alchemical products. low, medium, high and transcendent, but because transcendent quality products were almost impossible to make there was a quality level that was between high and transcendent. It was peak quality. First Max wanted to get all the products to high level because he saw that he had no high level of talent towards alchemy, but after learning about the peak quality level product and what it meant he decided to take his time and get the health, mana and vitality potions to the peak level quality. The reason was simple. The system graded the efficiency of low grade potions as 1, medium grade potions as 4, high level potions as 16 and peak level potions as 64. Transcendent quality potions gave the efficiency of 300. It meant that a medium level potion will work like four low level ones. The high grade will work as 4 middle grade potions and 16 low grade potions. It will go by the same rules for the peak level, but the transcendent level potion was special and gave huge boost that was insane. Even the peak level potion that was intermediate between high and transcendent gave a great boost in efficiency. Max worked all this first month of the semester on increasing the grade of the potions to peak level. In this process the system was cursed multiple times in a lot of different ways. A lot of potions were broken and the poor alchemy table was hit multiple times. Generally Max succeeded the first time only after three weeks from the beginning of the semester after his first try to concoct the peak tier level potion. After that the process went a lot better. He succeeded with all the rest of the potions after another three days. The last few days went to get to a level where Max was able to concoct those three products at peak levels more consistently. He did not understand how people with no magic power and no affinity with fire and water could make peak level products. For peak level products Max needed to mix the products perfectly and to use fire and water manipulation to keep the temperatures and the potion mixed perfectly during all the production time. That was very hard. Max did not have any electric machinery to show him the temperature so he needed to do it manually. It took him huge amount of time to "feel" it. If we have to count that time than it will be four months a day at the simulation for 30 days. It took him ten years to get those three types of potions from high level to peak level. Of course he did not use all this time for alchemy but it was still insane. He did not even imagine what was needed to get it to the transcendent level. He was sure only a true talented alchemist could do it. It was sure not Max.

After getting those potions done Max had a big variety of potions to choose from. The alchemy simulation gave the user a big amount of options to choose from.

Here is only part of the potions on the list:

-Health potion. (Easy difficulty, apprentice alchemical product)

-Mana potion. (Easy difficulty, apprentice alchemical product)

-Vitality potion. (Easy difficulty, apprentice alchemical product)

-Life energy potion. (Easy difficulty, apprentice alchemical product)

-Purification potion. (Medium difficulty, apprentice alchemical product)

-Berserk potion. (High difficulty, apprentice alchemical product)

-Agility potion. (Medium difficulty, apprentice alchemical product)

-Strength potion. (Medium difficulty, apprentice alchemical product)

Max got the point that he should continue with the easy potions. From the system advice it was the easiest product to make. All the rest of them needed more steps to create the final product. He knew that if he would start from pills he would kill himself. With few more steps to form the pill he will go mad for sure. All the apprentice alchemical product would work on apprentice knights and mages. It will still work for knights and mages but the efficiency will be very low. Max was not sure what very low efficiency meant, but he was sure to try it soon.

Max decided to make the life energy potion. The description of the system on this product was:

'A potion that increases the ability to absorb life energy. The increase is from two to four times higher than usual depending on the talent of the person that will use the potion. This is true for low quality level potion.'

It was a very good potion to start from. All of his students needed this potion to progress faster. He could also sell those potions and earn money and a name for himself. He was not sure what was better for him.

Max talked with the head master to register the master blacksmith Wilfred as a teacher so he will have access to the gaming club. Of course Wilfred will also teach students. Wilfred talked about it with Max and he went back to Manchester to finish up some personal things and bring everything to the capital. Max told Jax that Wilfred will teach blacksmithing and two more subjects that are needed to know to become top blacksmith. It was basic chemistry and basic metallurgy. The head master did not heard about those subjects but Max said that basic alchemy is also a must to study subject for the alchemy course that he will open.

The director did not really understand what was going on but at the same day a message was published through all the academy channels: "There will be few more courses opening in the academy. The first course is a blacksmithing course that is led by a master blacksmith Wilfred that require two new courses to be studied. Basic chemistry and basic metallurgy. Basic chemistry will include material on what our world is build from and why some interactions happen in the material world. Metallurgy course will be teaching metal refinement processes and their effect on the end product. It is essential courses to get to a high level as a blacksmith. There will be one more course that will be opening in the academy. It will be the Basic Alchemy course that will be taught by senior teacher Max. For this course you must take the Basic Chemistry course. In the alchemy course you will study how to make three types of potions for now. Healing potion, mana potion and vitality potion. Healing potion can help heal wounds and increase internal regeneration. Mana potion restore the used mana of mages and vitality potion restore the life force of knights."

This caused a huge uproar. The alchemy course at the academy was very theoretical. There were no real alchemists in the lower level countries of the empire. After the information went absolutely viral in the city Jax got so many messages that he did not know from what to begin. Even the royal family contacted him almost immediately. The other academies went crazy as well over the alchemy course. Alchemist were almost non existent in the empire. There were some in the capital of the empire but it was very hard to get alchemical products. The fact that their children could study it and learn how to make something like a mana potion was insane. It gave them the ability to earn huge amounts of money. Those things will always be needed as long people will live. The fact that a master blacksmith will be teaching in the academy also excited a lot of people but alchemy was much more important.

When Jax saw all the messages his eyes lost their light. He was fucked.
