Interview

Max and James entered Jax's office. Max was looked at the office and he loved what he saw. It was well decorated spacious room with a high level wood decorations. There was a big table with the shape of 'T' in the head of which the director was located. There were many chairs around the table with very beautiful decorations painted on them. Each chair had a special decoration and it contributed to the uniqueness of each person that will sit in those chairs. The room had many shelfs of different sizes with different types of book. The atmosphere in the room was harmonious. On Jax's table there were various documents that he was signing up.

The director was a slim man in his fifties. He had a pair of blue eyes and black hair. He was around 1.9 meters. When he saw James and Max he said: "James its you. What do you want to talk about? Who is this man?"

He got a message from James that he may found a young prodigy and a potential teacher to the commoners of the academy.

James was excited and said: "This is the teacher of this prodigy. His name is Max or how he is called by the people is Mad Max or Crazy Max. He wants to register the kid and also register himself as a teacher of our academy."

James was very happy. He knew that he will be rewarded for recruiting Max and Rey if everything will go well.

The director was taken aback by this declaration. He knew who this man was. Max looked like an average looking man. He would never think such ordinary looking man could do all the crazy things people were saying. He checked and he knew that Max really did a lot of things that he could not even start to understand. Max gave him a modest smile: "Hello there, director Jax. It is nice to meet you."

After a short amount of thinking the director said: "I heard about your fits on the battlefield. Thank you for defending the interests of our country. A lot of people will live to see tomorrow. We will still have to make a check of your level as a knight and mage to be sure what degree you deserve to get as a teacher. I hope you don't take it as an offense."

Max shrugged and said: "No problems. Would we do this test now?"

The director nodded and got two different magic devices. The director said: "You just need to to take each of them into your hands and they will measure your power levels."

Max nodded and took the two devices. They looked similar and he did not hesitate. He had nothing to hide. When the principle and James saw the results they still looked at Max like he was a monster. James muttered: "Level one knight and level one mage. Insane!"

The director nodded and said:" Indeed. What type of elements do you specialize in?"

Max gave it a brief thinking and said: "Fire, earth, water, wind and lightning. At around the same level."

There was a moment of silence in the room. Max was confused. James did not know much about mages so he was generally was unaffected but the directors eyes were bulging. He said with a shaking voice: "Can you please show your control of the elements to us?"

Max got water sphere rotating in his hand that after was infused with stone. Then the water got evaporated with the stone and fire started to be produced. It was of very high temperature. After that Max started rotating the fire with wind and made a mini tornado. The principle and James got a little agitated so he canceled it. The last one was lightning. Max made all of his body sparkling with lightning. After this demonstration there was another minute of silence. Now James also got the point that this was not right. That was insane.

Jax asked: "What is your age?"

Max said after some thinking: "I lived for such long time that I don't even remember haha."

This was the first answer that made sense for the duo. If Max was so old but remained young because of his level as a mage it was acceptable why he was so strong.

Before Jax could say anything Max asked: "I brought here a college of mine that is a level two knight. Could she also be a teacher here?"

James was taken aback and looked at the principle for his verdict. The principle asked after some consideration: "Does she has any experience of teaching someone? She maybe has a student like the kid you got to the level of second knight apprentice at the age of ten?"

Max shook his head in response. The director took a few seconds to consider something and said: "The only thing that I can do is to put her as your assistant. If she will prove that she is capable of nurturing talents then she could be promoted at the next year to a teacher. Most of the time even getting someone to a level of assistant is problematic, but with such level of strength she will definitely shine. It is just a matter of time."

Max was alright with that. He nodded to the principle. He did make sense.

After a short amount of time he asked: "Is there a chance to get some land to put my house in the academy? Not much space needed."

The principle frowned. It was not a normal request, but giving the status of this character of Mad Max he tried to be flexible. After some consideration he said: "It is problematic. The only location is near the commoners accommodation. There is a lot of space there and no one really cares if you build there a house or two."

Max was totally fine with that. He was even happy. He could look for some talents. He could see many different brats. Also, he will be the line of defense for those people. He did not want the noble to shackle the talented commoners. He would take them for himself.

After some more chatting about different things it was decided they will meet after another week. Max was given the badge of senior teacher of the academy. Generally everyone above the fifth level of apprentice knight became senior teachers. James was a novice level teacher because he was a level two apprentice knight. For level three and four apprentice knight they will get a teacher level badge after finishing some tests by the academy. There were tests for teachers that wanted to get to the senior level teacher as well but there was no reason for Max to take them. He was too strong. Max also got an assistant badge for Valeria and the papers for Rey that he was accepted to his class. Also Max needed to choose what type of classes he will teach.

Max took the blank with the different courses and he noted only a few that made him interested. He got the point that he will teach different classes the same course. He was fine with that.

In the end of the day he was good at fighting as a warrior and a mage. So he chose three types of courses to teach:

-Armed combat.

-Unarmed combat.

-Magic combat.

When Max chose the magic combat course the principle was delighted. It was very hard to find even a mage apprentice to teach kids how to manipulate their mana and use it as an offensive spell.

"Maybe you want to pick more courses?" The principle asked with hope.

"Sorry principle Jax. I think those are the best courses for me to teach." Max said.

"Alright. And last question before you depart. What is your noble status?" The director asked.

"Commoner." Max answered.
