Entrance exam part 2

The noble teachers did not know how to react to that. This Max was a commoner, but it was the first time that they were suppressed by one. They could not really punish him or beat him up. The director's eyes glowed. He did not hesitate and said to the audience: "Dear candidates, pay attention. Generally, we do let the senior teachers to pick up their potential students at the tests stages, but we do have a new senior teacher named Max that most of you know. He has the ability to locate students with magic talent. Please stay at your locations and let teacher Max to pick up the candidates he located. Today we have a few lucky kids."

After this announcement the crowd erupted into an uproar. Especially the commoners. They knew who was giving them a chance to change their lives. They wanted to be his students badly. Even the noble side was in anticipation. Some of them had legacies but it was sometimes for one element or was had very high restrictions. If they could study this from a mage than they would rise really quickly. 

Max really did not pay attention to the noble side. They had two candidates but he did not want to take them. He did not want problems between students in his class from day one. He preferred to have only commoners. That's why he headed towards different sides of the crowd and collected a few children of different ages. Most of those students were women. Even looking at the noble side Max saw that the two candidates were also women. He took 6 girls and two boys from the crowd. A very low percentage from such big amount of people. He guessed that women had more talent toward the mage path. He was not sure about that but it was a point that was noted into his head. One of them was even 17 years old girl that looked like a women. In villages people worked hard and their bodies grew faster to be able to perform. It also caused them to look old at their forties because their bodies just could not handle the work from morning until night. People just looked older because the hard labor they needed to perform to survive. Max brought the children to the stage and Jax helped them to get registered for Max's class. After that Max said to the kids that he chose: "I will test your talents after we finished with the tests. If you don't work hard than you will be expelled. Remember that. Headmaster can I say something to the other candidates?"

The principle nodded again. Now he was already happy to be a helped for a birth of 8 potential apprentice mages. It would be a huge increase in the power of the country.

Max looked at all the students from the stage and said: "Hello. As you already understood my name is Max. I'm the new senior teacher of this academy. I want to wish all of you good luck. To all the ones that will fail but have good martial skills come to me for testing after the exam. The ones I see worthy will be excepted to my class. If you don't have martial talent please do not come. You can't fool me."

Those words got a lot of students really happy. They at least had more options even if they will fail.

After that the director continued: "We will have three tests today. They will be short and straightforward. The first one is the age test. The age of the candidates will be tested. Candidates from the ages of 10 to 16 will pass. The second one will be the talent test and it will test the talent for the applicants for knight studies. The third one will be power test of punching a machine that will test your power in kilograms. There are norms for different power levels. From unranked level to the third level of knight apprentice. For those who will pass they will need to receive the approval of one of the teachers that are accepting students for the first year. The students that will be approved by one of the teachers will be accepted to the academy. We are adding the last part because the number of applicants this year is very high. That's why we have to add the last part to have the right amount of students that our academy can support. Good luck for everyone."

The kids listened carefully for the announcement. The idea and the information was very simple to understand. Even kids could grasp it easily.

Soon the testing began. The first test was simple. Not many people were eliminated. It was known what was the right age so it was stupid to try and cheat here.

At the second test a lot of the students were eliminated. The academy accepted only students with knight talent but that was something pretty rare. Around 90 percent of people were eliminated here. It was sad. This was the hardest test for all students. Many of the ones that failed were crying or looking at the distance with an absent look. It was the moment for a lot of those kids to see how some were destined for something greater than them only because of talent that they got by chance. Nothing they could work on. It was nothing that was dependent on them. It was the moment when some of the kids matured. Saw the world for how it was. On the last test the amount of commoners was not much higher than the amount of nobles like it was from the beginning. The nobles knew that their kids had talent. None of them was eliminated. They all wore arrogant expressions and looked at the failing commoners in disdain. Like at lower life forms. Max got the point that some of that noble brats this year were high level. At the tests one of them was even referred as 'your majesty'. Some of them were relatives of dukes in some way. It was apparent from their protectors that were near those noble brats. They were at a high level. The majesty brat had a knight protecting him. Also those noble children were at a high level of cultivation. They were at the first or second stage of the knight apprentice already at the ages of twelve to fourteen. It would be impressive if Max did not notice the fact that their foundations were horrible. They were most likely consuming alchmeical materials in huge amounts. They were an alchemical material themselves by this point. There was not much training involved with those nobles. They were most likely already "playing" with some of their maids constantly. Why would you work hard when you already have everything? When you are not 'hungry' for success. There was one exception among the noble brats. It was a son of a duke. His name was Albert Folsheim. He was a hardworking noble with a strong will. It got him to a level of a knight apprentice with a sturdy foundation.

Max looked at this kid and decided to give the nobles one more chance. Albert was around 13 years old by appearance. Max came towards the nobles. There were already many noble teachers hanging around those nobles. Most of them were nobles, but even some commoner teachers tried their luck. Max arrived to Albert and said: "Kid I see that you have a good foundation. If you want I can accept you to my class."

Albert looked at Max. When he saw he was a senior teacher but a commoner his blue eyes that ignited for a moment dimmed and he flatly said: "I don't think a commoner can teach me anything. And I'm not a kid. I'm your excellency for you, commoner."
