The guards took Rita's body from there. But they noticed one thing while taking the body: the body was melting; it was so soft, and there was a lot of saliva on her body. The body was literally melting when they moved it; the body was moving like fluid. They couldn't move it easily.
Maids were clearing Camilla's chamber, and Rita was monitoring them even as she checked out each corner of the chamber. She was sure that if no one came from outside, then something would have happened there, in the chamber. It might be that the murderer left something, or it might not, but they still needed to find out.
Their eyes scanned every inch, searching for any clue that could shed light on the tragedy that had befallen Rita. Ruby's heart ached as she thought of her fellow maid, whose life had been cut short so suddenly and violently.
