Richard had a leg injury, but he could still stand. The biggest issue was that his left hand's palm was in terrible pain. He also felt his heart heaving under the weight of something. He remembered Adela saying that they controlled the black magic but didn't completely eradicate it. As a result, the suffering and trauma would return.
Richard looked at everyone; he did not want to tell anyone about it. If he said he knew, everyone's morale would break. He clasped Adela's crystal inside his palm, and suddenly it became hot. Richard was so at ease because of the crystal's warmth. He felt Adela was right there, and he was cradling her inside his chest. And gradually, he observed, his palm's discomfort eased.
"Levy, take notice. We will now deal with the real one. That wasn't a triumph for us," Richard murmured as he lifted his sword gradually.
Levy declared upon observing Richard.
