Did I hurt her?
Adela and Francis were silent inside the carriage. Francis waited for Adela to speak first because he believed she could explain everything to him. Adela, though, remained silent and continued to glance out the window, appearing to be completely unconcerned.
Adela was lost in the thoughts of Camilla. It baffled her why Camilla had suddenly become rude. Did she make a mistake? Or did she react when I gave the prince the crystal? She did, however, give him the crystal for his own good.
Francis's voice abruptly cut her stream of thought off.
"Adela."
Adela cast a blank stare at Francis. She looked at him while fluttering her eyes in anticipation of his questioning. "Are you alright?" Francis asked.
Adela took a long breath after lightly nodding her head in the negative. "Francis, I am considering several things, but I am at a loss for what to do. I'm not sure what happened to her so abruptly."
