"Kaelan!"
Kaelan's face turned an alarming shade of red, veins practically popping out of his forehead as he looked like he was on the verge of a breakdown.
Crystal stepped between them, crossing her arms with a look that was all exasperation. "Kaelan, breathe. He's clearly not going anywhere in those shackles, so how about we skip the part where you both insult each other into oblivion?"
Kaelan opened his mouth to retort, but Crystal gave him a pointed look that would probably wither a tree.
"And before you say another word, I think uncle would want him alive—unharmed—if what he's saying about Haldor's Venom is even half true. We need to find out why he's not in agony… or maybe if he's just insane."
"Oh, trust me, he's insane," Kaelan grumbled, finally lowering his hands but still giving Valac a look that could set paper on fire.
If anyone is insane here. It's you, bastard.
