-Are you sure you want to do it?- asked Viggo, stopping in front of a path covered in black miasma. However, what worried him was not what lay ahead, but what was above him.
-Don't be a crybaby- Rosewisse said with a smile on her lips -I already told you I wouldn't do it again-
Viggo looked at the mountain ahead. On one of their faces, they had carved the face of a giant who now emerged from his mouth a black miasma that covered all the way that descended winding to Viggo and Rosewisse. According to Rosewisse it was a very powerful arcane magic. So, the only thing left to be able to climb to the top of the mountain was to fly, which Viggo did not like very much because of his previous experience. Viggo watched as the rocky, snow-covered mountain to the top stretched to almost touch the sky. It was a lot of miles of free fall, and it wouldn't be funny at all for Rosewisse to make fun of him like she did the time before.
Viggo looked at Rosewisse who was standing on his right side, with a posture brimming with confidence and arms crossed. Her long silver hair fell to the sides of her face, enhancing the beauty of her blue eyes. However, Viggo could see in his gaze that she was enjoying disturbing him with heights. Viggo frowned and grumpy in a bad mood, but the only thing he managed to do is make Rosewisse laugh like a fairy.
Rosewisse finished laughing and looked at him with a friendly smile -are we going to do it or not?- ask
Viggo let out a sigh, looked back, and could see the mountain descending on a steep slope to the woods bordering the Nine Realms Lake. At the same time, the lake looked like a huge body of water reaching every corner of Midgar. Viggo let out a sigh and looked at Rosewisse once again – just be careful, right? There are people waiting for me in my house- he said.
Rosewisse gave a melancholic look, not because there will be no one left waiting in his house, but because Viggo in one of the many conversations, had told her about his life in Orario. Viggo, without a doubt, was the most talkative and entertaining person she had ever met. No pretensions, no contempt, or haughty attitudes. He was all smiles, one joke here, one over there. He was handsome, tall, strong, but he had five wives. Rosewisse tapped Viggo's face out of her mind the instant she heard him. It was not a clever idea to mix with such a lustful person.
Rosewisse took a deep breath and path to stand behind Viggo. Then she hugs him from behind and interlace her hands in front to give him the assurance that she would not let go. She asked him in a low tone -Are you ready?-
Viggo nodded and looked towards the top of the snow-capped mountain.
Rosewisse also looked up at the top of the mountain, crouched down a little and gave a powerful jump that raised her five meters from the floor. Viggo didn't scream this time and she began flapping her wings in a constant motion that lifted them both.
Viggo felt the cold winds make Rosewisse stagger in the air, but she instantly regained control and continued to ascend. Viggo looked down and saw how little by little they moved away from the mainland and raise to terrifying heights. Although he believed that if he used his touki he could survive this level of fall, he didn't want to experience it.
-Look up- Rosewisse said as he looked at the clouds in the sky and the top of the snowy mountain -there's nothing good down there. The great is in the heavens-
Viggo looked up and could see the other mountains in front, smaller in size and in between them were valleys full of vegetation. Something one would never expect from a snowy closure. Although of course, to access those valleys one would have to cross the mountains and snow. Rosewisse continued to rise and Viggo could see that further north was an extensive lake that fed a valley. In the center of the valley was a statue of a man holding a hammer in his right hand. From this distance he looked like a little soldier that you could hide with the thumb of your hand.
Viggo raised his gaze and gradually could see the top. However, more surprising were the cracks of several hundred meters in the mountain, which in turn allowed him to look inside and realize that inside the mountain they had built a city, with houses and bridges built in rock. At that point, Viggo began to feel quite cold and channeled touki around his body. He also relayed it to Rosewisse, who suddenly felt too strong and fluttered so hard that he propelled himself forward, losing control for a few seconds.
Viggo and Rosewisse started turning and screaming at the same time. However, Rosewisse with his experience and skill, managed to spread his wings correctly and regain control of the flight.
-Stupid Viggo- Rosewisse screamed in the air as she flapped her long wings to keep flying. The scream was heard in the distance and echoed in the mountains -what rays did you make to me? You almost killed us-
-I'm sorry- said Viggo, holding Rosewisse's hands so she wouldn't let go of him -It was just cold, and I channeled touki. I shared it with you and pass what happened-
Rosewisse let out a sigh, now that the danger had passed, she realized that the cold was gone. It was as if she was in a warm place, even though the mountain below her was covered with miles of snow -for the next one, let me know. It's hard to fly while carrying someone. If you modify my strength without warning me, what happened a moment ago can happen-
-Sorry, it won't happen again-
Rosewisse nodded and continued to fly until she reached the top of the mountain. She then flew south to the mountain next door and stopped in the middle of both mountains, where there was a natural bridge connecting both peaks. She flapped carefully, descending until, two meters from the ground, she released Viggo, and he fell to his feet in the snow. She continued to descend and stopped in front of Viggo. Rosewisse folded her arms and looked at Viggo with a frown. The latter showed a funny smile and said -ok, ok, sorry, I already told you I'm sorry. It will not happen again-
-Okay- Rosewisse said, nodding with a serious expression -but as punishment you must keep sharing that strange red aura-
-It's called touki, it's a technique my father taught me- Viggo replied in a good mood. He stretched out his hand and Rosewisse took it. Then they turned around, looking at the top of the other mountain -it's very convenient, isn't it?-
-And let me say it- Rosewisse replied with a smile as the reddish aura covered her. The cold of the snow on the ground and the cold of the air left as if by magic. Even if she put her feet in the snow up to her ankles, it doesn't bother him.
They continued to walk while seeing the top of the other mountain. It was a special area, a sanctuary, so to speak. A strange energy was seen floating around, a base of carved and flattened rock at the top, with a tree growing on one side and in contrast, an arc made of solid rock. Both of these things are too rare for this region.
Viggo stopped and looked in the direction of Kratos' house and noticed a red forest very close. Because of its intense color, he thought it must have been a hidden garden or something. Maybe there was a seidr witch in that place. Then he looked at Kratos' house, in the forest between the mountains and let out a sigh of melancholy.
-Maybe I should have been silent- Viggo muttered sadly. Faye was sick and didn't know when she was going to die. Atreus was too young and alone to face such a loss on his own. His master... he was an idiot for getting away from his family.
-What about it?- asked Rosewisse, holding Viggo's hand and looking in the direction he saw. He also notices the reddish forest, very close to a river that went to the Lake of the Nine Realms.
-I, I told my master my thoughts. He advised me on how to deal with the god. First, I should find information on how to locate him and know what his weaknesses were. Then find out who his generals were and in what order to kill them. However, in the end, he performed a brief test of strength, and I left the mountain where he and his family lived. He said that my challenge was very dangerous and that he would not allow me to expose his wife and son-
-It's understandable- Rosewisse replied in a small voice that was blown away by a gust of wind -not everyone sets out to kill the god Odin-
-Even if you tell me that- replied Viggo looking into the distance -I still doubt it, I have no reason to hate him or to want to kill him. It is true that he did something horrible to people all over Midgar. However, that has nothing to do with me. Also, so long ago- Viggo looked Rosewisse in the eye and asked -Do you hate me for being indecisive? For not seeking justice for the people who died unjustly?-
Rosewisse shook his head -even I doubt it- she said -at first, I thought I wanted to do the right thing for Grandma and Vanaheim, but after hearing those few words you said to me, I began to doubt. That's how strong my convictions were. What a fool isn't it?-
-My father sometimes says things that put you in a difficult position- Viggo said with a smile on his lips, looking towards Midgar as a gust of wind waved his red hair passed. Rosewisse looked at him from the side and found him the most beautiful man she has ever met. Viggo continuously -when I was a kid, I wanted to be a hero, I wanted to be strong and punish bad people. My father was patient and tolerated my stupidities. He even moved his influences so that no one would kill me in the slums when I started fighting the thugs. One of those days, in one of the many tips that mediate, he said "It's okay if you want to be a hero, but I remind you that at home your mother and your brothers are waiting for you. If you die, have you thought about what will happen to them? All hero stories are beautiful, poetic, and all the idealistic shit you want. However, those stories forget to mention the people left behind-
-It's...- Rosewisse said, looking down, feeling sorry to just hear him -sad, but real. When my parents died, I also suffered, I thought it would be the end of the world, my heart still hurts. Apparently, one never forgets that one love. Only burdens with those losses-
-Maybe-
Rosewisse looked at Viggo, his face framed in the red of his hair. She hugged Viggo's arm and looked at Midgar, without saying a word. Maybe this would be the last time they saw each other.
