The opulent bedroom was dimly lit, the heavy drapes drawn to block out the morning light. The room exuded an air of luxurious excess: silk sheets, plush pillows, and the faint scent of expensive perfume. Aaron lay sprawled across the bed, his body languid and sated after a night of indulgence. Beside him, his mistress, a woman of striking beauty and subtle power, rested on the silken sheets. The house, lavish and resplendent, was a testament to the wealth Aaron had accumulated through Rachel's money and his own ambitions.
Aaron's phone buzzed on the nightstand, the sound jarring against the quiet of the room. With a groan, he reached for it and saw Rachel's name flashing on the screen. His face twisted into a smirk as he answered the call.
"Hello?" Aaron's voice was husky, a mix of satisfaction and anticipation.
