Before tonight, he hadn’t known that being half Native American, half Irish American bothered Evan. He’d thought Evan was confident and without issues, but Rene realizes he assumed things because in the time Rene has known Evan, Evan’s always had a smile for the world.
“I’d really like not to think about my dad right now. We’re in beautiful woods. We’re naked. I think we have better things to be doing than wasting breath on a man I haven’t even spoken to since I was a teen,” Evan says firmly, clearly wanting to change the subject.
“If you don’t want to talk anymore, we don’t have to, but if you need to, we can,” Rene says softly, threading a hand into the back of Evan’s beautiful red hair.
“I want you to kiss me,” Evan says, pressing closer to Rene’s front, pressing Rene more firmly into the tree.
