Chapter 47-Taking Out the Trash Part 2

It took me a longer walk as I had to pass by Skiaxodius' pyramid as well to get to my other objective. There was no need to enter to report my success as I figured he knew exactly what went on in his domain.

The walk was good, as it gave me time to properly map out a strategy against my next opponent. I don't know what Skiaxodius considered strong, but I felt that the last guy was a bit underwhelming.

Sure, he played me a first, but when I got focused, he was a letdown. Maybe it was a trick by him to make me let my guard down but, I wasn't planning on dying here. I've been through too much training to just die to guys who have been tortured for Skiaxodius knows how long.

Since I was in my thoughts, the trip didn't feel as long as the next pyramid soon came into view. Not knowing what to expect, I carefully navigated the corridors lit by green torches until I come across another open chamber.

The room was completely clear save for a man floating in a rotating ball of dark green energy in the middle of the room. Remembering the last time, I save the dialogue portion of this encounter and cast Invisibility.

When I enter in the room, the ball holding the man dissipates and he drops to the floor. Confused the guy shakingly gets up while looking around the room as I slowly creep up behind him.

I reach him within seconds and stab out towards his exposed backside. My dagger comes into contact with a dark blue shield that forms around the man which brings me out of my spell as he turns to face me.

I step back away from him as I sigh that the hope that it would actually be that easy dies out. The man confidently smiles at my futile attempt to assassinate him.

"Foolish elf, you clearly lack the capabilities to end my life. Let me return the favor by showing you how its done."

He claps his hands together and I don't plan on being an easy target to whatever he's doing as I recast Invisibility while activating Mana Survey.

Race: Human

Class: Shadow Arcanist LVL ???

Health: 2500

Mana: 3300

No activate blessings/curse

His hands come apart forming sets of blue runes that hover in front of him and he cracks his knuckles. He pushes some runes and 8 orbs the size of grapefruits appear and begin to circulate around him making the runes disappear.

I summon two clones and send them after him to test what the orbs do. He motions his hand towards the clones and two orbs blur past him, following his movements as they reach my clones in seconds, shredding them.

Seeing that his style basically is chaining spells and decide to make him waste his mana with useless spells by casting Magic Disruption. I get a notification from the system:

[Target is unaffected by negative effect spells as long as Mana Shield is active.]

So now I couldn't use any curses I had against him until and I still needed to know how to get rid of it. He crosses his arms then taps his foot impatiently then yells out.

"I have no time for this game you're playing elf. Just go ahead and run into my dark orb for I have much to do, like getting revenge against that eyeball for example. My spells and time are being wasted on you."

Although he was pissing me off, I still had to play this carefully as any mistake would be my last. I just needed to test one last thing out before I made any plays however, as I reach my hand out and summoned the shadow daggers where he was standing.

They didn't appear directly on him like I wanted but instead appeared outside his shield and started rotating into it. The first blade strikes the shield, distorting it and he boredly points towards the shadow daggers, sending a dark orb that completely absorbed each dagger.

Seeing this encounter, I now can engage as a plan was formed from the information I've gathered so far.

From where I am, a line of shadows stretches from wall to wall, draining a bit of my mana until they fully extend. With the spell now complete and I'm now in shadow, my mana begins to recharge.

He sends three dark orbs in the line of shadows I've created which crash down beside where I am. As they return to him, I cast Blessing of the Fox on myself along with summoning two clones. Activating Shadowmancy, I craft together a shadow scorpion and hear from across the distance from us.

"Finally, you take action."

For good measure, I activate Enhanced Movement which should be considered overkill, but I wasn't going to take any chances. We begin to charge together but I'm still in my Invisibility spell so he can only see my clones take sprinting towards him. With Blessing of the Fox and Enhanced Movement, I have no problem leaving my clones behind and clearing the upcoming dark orbs.

The first one lands, evaporating a clone but they miss the other one as it continues sprinting towards him. He scoffs as the orbs return to him and a sends one out to confront the clone. Now with me next to him, I time the rotation of the orbs for the missing one, then reach out and stab at his shield, which distorts it more as it brings me out of Invisibility.

He turns to me and the orb he's directing to my clone misses, and it quickly returns back to him, letting the clone continue its charge as he begins to taunt.

"You tried that already and it didn't work. It's a shame to see fools one trick a move and get countered." He says smugly.

I don't bother answering as the clone finally reaches him and begins slash at the shield. Annoyed, he motions to send an orb at both me and the clone, but I jump to the side, sending the orb sailing into the wall.

Seizing this opportunity, I use my boots ability to dash towards the shield, slashing at it. I jump away towards the right wall as his orb return to him. Standing next to the wall, I leave a trail of shadows that stretch across the roof all the way to the other wall.

"You're just delaying the inevitbable…. Inedible… you're just delaying what's going to happen for sure."

He outreaches both his hands and all orbs twirl around him rapidly. I summon another clone and position my scorpion near him.

Suddenly, all his orbs fly out bouncing off the walls randomly, killing both my clones immediately as he laughs hysterically
