Chapter 84: Uneasy Moments at Dinner
At this point his eyes caught Gwyneth’s because she was sitting opposite him at the long table. She smiled as if she was trying to humor him.
“Maybe the tension is showing on my face?” Steven wondered. He decided to smile at the elderly royal couple.
“I should look at the décor. Maybe I can have the fake, less expensive version of everything for my birthday party back home. But how will I explain that I got the ideas from an actual palace?” Steven asked himself.
“I’m doomed either way. If I stay and it’s proved that I’m royal, these traditions will overwhelm me and my parents will disown me,” Steven thought as he helped himself to roast lamb.
“If I go back they will eventually find out that I lied about where I was going to and the truth will come out about my suspicions of them,” he thought further.
The thoughts were going through his mind so fast that he began to feel giddy.
“Maybe I can take a bathroom break? Is that even acceptable?” he thought next.
