The jaguar bounded towards the stairs gracefully and then ran up them at such a great speed that Raven’s breath was caught in his throat.
The jaguar then stood still on the upper landing and stared down at Jim and the others who were rooted to their seats in the TV room.
“Is it gonna leap down now?” Raven asked from between teeth which were still chattering.
“No, it knows that it’s time to go back to its enclosure,” Jim replied in a calm and low tone of voice.
Raven could not believe what he was hearing. There was actually a place where the animal lived in this house as if it was a normal pet.
The jaguar stared down at them for a few more moments before turning around and running up the second flight of stairs.
“Do you actually keep it here?” Raven asked after heaving a sigh of relief. His eyes were big with disbelief.
“Yes, but only recently,” Salicia replied.
“Why do you do that?” Raven asked shifting forwards in his chair so that he was sitting at the tip of it.
