HUMANS, VAMPIRES, WEREWOLVES

Vampires had existed since three hundred years ago, and it could be said that they were half-immortal.

Why was it said that they were only half-immortal and not immortal? The reason behind that fact was that they did have a longer life expectancy than humans, but that didn't mean they couldn't die and didn't age.

It was true vampires didn't age, but that was only until they were a hundred years old. Once they reached the age of twenty-five, they actually stopped aging, but after they celebrated their hundredth birthday, they would start to show signs of aging within themselves, just like how Evie started to have fine lines on her previously flawless face.

In human eyes, she did look like she was only twenty-five years old since she stopped aging for a while after reaching that age many years ago, but just like a watch that previously ran out of battery and again got a new battery, she was once again aging after turning one hundred years old.

Tick tick tick... Time was ticking, and Evie was panicking.

"My father died because he continued to grow old after turning one hundred years old. Of course, the speed of aging is much slower than humans. Even if my father died at the age of two hundred, I don't want to be the same as him. I want to stay alive, and I want to stay perfect too! I don't want to have fine lines on my face!" Evie wailed miserably again after a brief silence, and Dana rolled her eyes as she witnessed the vampire's childish demeanor even though she was over a hundred years old now.

"Even if we, vampires, don't directly suck human blood from their neck, we will still die in the end! I'm not scared of dying, but I'm scared to see the changes in my face and body because of aging! What will my fans say about my face? Will they think I'm ugly and stop liking me? Will they like that flat-ass Alda Barlowe instead?" Evie continued lamenting her fate.

Just like what she briefly mentioned, vampires weren't allowed to pierce their fangs into a human's neck. Evie still remembered the rule as well as the punishment for the rule breaker, and she didn't have any intention to break the rule. 'That's the reason why I need humans to help me,' she thought to herself.

The blood that she and other vampires would drink needed to be put in a blood bag before they could use it to satisfy their needs, and since it was forbidden to suck blood directly from its source, they needed a third party's assistance in the form of Dana's family.

The Edevane family happened to be the chosen ones to serve the Bancroft Clan. The elders of the family had been rescued by the Vampire King of the Bancroft clan many years ago, and that was why they had sworn allegiance to the vampires from that day on.

The Edevanes were responsible for setting up the blood supply for the vampires, but it could be said that vampires didn't need too much human blood to survive these days. Vampires had evolved, and they only needed to drink a blood bag every month instead of every day as it had been in the past.

Thus, the work the Evadenes had to do less as time went by, and gradually, the two families became equal. That was why Dana in no way acted as if she were Evie's servant.

Bancrofts even helped Edevanes to start an entertainment company four years ago, and the Vampire Queen even took part as one of the celebrities managed by the company.

Evie was like a broken cassette that continued making noise in the room, and it seemed Dana was tired of it as she finally responded, "The only key that will be able to free you from this situation is werewolves, right? Didn't you tell me that you would find a werewolf and make them your pet?"

Unfortunately, the response wasn't enough to satisfy the vampire, and she sighed heavily after hearing what the human had just said.

"It's easier said than done," the vampire replied weakly. "If it was a hundred years ago, then it wouldn't be difficult to find werewolves, but now that werewolves are almost extinct, I'm not sure where I can find them."

When Evie was little, she used to read some books about how humans, animals, and vampires were not the only creatures that existed in this world. In the books, it was written: "Werewolves also existed in this world, and their first appearance coincided with the vampires' first appearance."

"Anyway, I remember I once asked for your help to find just a single werewolf to be my blood bag, Dan. Too bad you still show empty hands to me," Evie continued when Dana was silent, and the latter even awkwardly cleared her throat after catching the sarcasm.

"Just like vampires, werewolves can also appear in their human form, right? That's why they're good at hiding just like vampires," Dana replied again, but she deliberately ignored the sarcasm. "Most humans think that vampires and werewolves are just mystical and unreal beings. They even make a lot of movies about them even if they don't know the truth about them. Ah, right. This company also produced that kind of movie before, but at least I have a reliable source for the storyline here."

Dana did ignore her sarcasm, but Evie didn't seem to care about that as she smirked instead, easily understanding the hidden meaning behind the human's words.

"Vampires and werewolves are indeed similar in terms of our skill in hiding ourselves among humans, but there are also some differences between us," Evie replied to the human. "Werewolves don't drink human blood, and they mostly rely on animal flesh. At first glance, werewolves may seem like they have little to do with humans or vampires, but that's not entirely true. In fact, while werewolves primarily feed on wild animals in the forest, their most delicious food is vampires, and that's why the two creatures began to become enemies years ago."
