Chapter 26: Heat

"Why am I all bundled up?" I asked, squirming further down into the comforter.
"To keep you warm 'cause when your blood drops, it can get chilly, so I wanted to, hey, why are you laughing?" asked Rilian.
"You made yourself a burrito," I snorted.
Rilian had woken up hungry. He had started by getting a blood bag from the refrigerator, but it would not satisfy him for some reason. After two of them, I finally offered to give him a bite.
"This has got to be something to do with the bonding," Rilian grumbled, "maybe I got spoiled on wolf blood."
I shrugged. "Is the blanket wrap for me, or maybe so that you don't get a little too-"
"Hey, now I'm not always a horndog," interrupted Rilian defensively. And I giggled.
"Sure, sure, I believe you," I said with a smirk, "come on then."
