|•Chapter 10:- The strongest bounty hunter; Lorcán Kincaid•|
The battle had just begun. Lorcán had worries in his mind, he wasn't sure if he would make it out alive. So, he had written a letter to his daughter and kept it in the hands of the Foresters, telling them if he didn't return within a day, his daughter should be handed the letter and also his pet grizzly should be taken care of. Lorcán was aware and was ready to die in the battle, his love for fighting strong opponents is unbounded.
The opponent's puny Ray of doom races toward Vishous at quintessential speed. But this Elf would show no signs of alarm as he simply leaps sideways emitting sparks of electricity as he goes. His speed which almost rivalled lightning enabled him to veer out of harm's way and plant his feet firmly a few metres away
"Oh.. sound magic eh? It's really rare even in Alfheim. It won't help you though... You will only meet a similar fate as all who have challenged me so far" Vishous chuckled
He claps his hands together and thousands of cracks form upon the Earth, out of which vast quantities of lava seep out, flooding the surface in a matter of seconds.
To reduce the opponent's chances of evasion, he tripples the acceleration due to gravity in the area, forcing all objects to remain grounded for a while.
Lorcán once again sensing the thoughts of his opponent, only one word comes to mind... "Shit! "
Before long, he was being pulled down at an alarming rate, forcing him to do the first thing that came to mind. He looks at his boots and activates the eye of Thorment, fixing them in place, thus making any further decent impossible. The eye of Thorment fixes a target to a particular point in space. It doesn't require any physical contact only visuals.
Scene sets in a sparsely populated tarred street of the village of kanras. The day was gone and the moon stood out in the sky, bathing the inhabitants of the village in its glorious radiance. Walking on this street was Lorcán Kincaid and walking beside him, was an adult female grizzly bear his partner.
"I don't like this D, these parts of the village aren't exactly the safest at night. It's not a problem tho I can handle myself, but it's still a hassle." As if confirming his suspicions, his ears twitch as he hears the sound of 4 men closing in on them
"They just had to prove me right didn't they...?"
He is interrupted as a long and sharp metallic whip from behind him almost relieves him of his head, this he artfully dodges by ducking, rolling forward and standing, facing his assailant. It was a masked lean man
"Woah! Sleek weapon you got there." His ears twitch again as they pick up movement from behind him. He reacts immediately, ducking and sweeping the incoming assailant of his feet with a lower roundhouse.
"What do you people want?" A chuckle arises from the roof of a nearby building, a chuckle which is immediately followed by a voice
"Not bad, not bad" the person said clapping.
Lorcán looks up, the man stood against the light of the moon so only a silhouette could be seen. "Do I fucking know you?" Lorcán blurted.
"I can rip these people to shreds if you want." Delilah, Lorcán pet grizzly telepathically told him. "No, I got something in mind." Lorcán replied telepathically.
The man on the roof spoke "You don't know us Lorcán Kincaid, but I assure you. We know you."
"What do you want? " Lorcán was curious.
"You don't know it but throughout your entire career as a bounty Hunter, you've racked up quite the amount of enemies. People who would pay good money to have you erased. "
"Oh... Well then, get it over with!" Lorcán sighed.
As though all the while waiting for his command, the man with the blade whip steps forward and waves his weapon at Lorcán aiming to make a fatal gash across his chest, fortunately for him, a single backflip saves his life. Immediately he lands, the man who he swept of his feet gets up and lunges at him with balled fists.
"You'll have to do much better. " Lorcán chuckled.
As this man attempts a punch to his left temple, Lorcán catches the punch, holds it tight and summersaults over him, breaking the hand in the process
"Yo D?" Lorcán call out and the bear growls "I only need one of them alive." No sooner had he said this than the great beast gets on its hind legs and descends on the man with a broken arm, reducing him to pieces in a matter of seconds. Lorcán looks at the man on the roof "What, you're not coming down?" Lorcán dodges the whip which comes at him from behind, before he could shift attention to the attacker, Delilah was already snacking on him
"Heh, good girl. " Lorcán praises
Suddenly he remembers something, at first he heard the footsteps of 4 men, but he had only seen 3. Before he knew what was happening, a hand emerges from the ground, phasing through as though it were nothing. The hand grabs his left ankle and he feels a terrible cold sensation run through his spine
"What the fu...." Before he could finish his statement, another hand emerges but to his astonishment, it emerges from his chest and grabs his neck, pressing hard*
"Mgghh!" He groans and tries to pull the hand off, but alas no matter how much force he applied it was though this psuedo arm was glues to his body. He knew in less than a minute he was going to die of asfixiation
"What.. the... Fuck..". Lorcán falls to his knees.
The man on the roof chuckled "Oh? That got you?" He jumps down and lands lightly on his feet in front of Lorcán. His face had 3 equal length running down the center. His green eyes seemed to flow in the dark. As he lands, Delilah attempts to pounce on him but he simply glances at her and she stops moving mid air. "I really thought you'd put up more of a fight. You can come out now Karma." From out of the ground, phasing through it like it were mere air, a masked man emerges. The man snaps his fingers and the hand choking Lorcán disappears
Lorcán coughs several times. "Agghh fuck!" He cursed, he looks at Delilah frozen in mid air. "What did you do to her.?
The green eyed man chuckles "my technique is far too advanced for you to understand Kincaid."
" Hm, I see." Lorcán looks at the men "you said you're after my life. Why didn't you kill me just now? " Lorcán asked curiously.
Karma replied "apparently our client would rather kill you herself."
"Hmm, I see" he dusts himself and stands up "I have just one thing to say." He smiled as he tares fixatedly at them. "You will regret not killing me just now."
The green eyed man looks at Lorcán, and at the exact moment when he was about to use his technique, moving at Miraculous speed, Lorcán steps forward and sends a fist crashing into his jaw, sending him flying at least 19m high. Without a moment's delay, he moves sideways, grabs the one called Karma by the face and bashes his head in the ground, knocking him out immediately. "Okay, time to try this." Lorcán pools up magical energy inside him and imbues it with his spiritual energy.
"The single organ that gives humans an advantage over beasts, their well developed brain, has a fatal flaw." He shifts all his focus to his opponent, clearing his mind of everything else
"The brain is a slave to whatever it senses." He calms his energy flow as he realizes that this would be a technique requiring a lot of control. Before long, a translucent aura manifests about him.
"Sound magic.." as he exhales, the man weakly gets up and prepares to attack
"Fearful scream! "He lets out a very strong scream. As this scream reverberates through the atmosphere, it causes a great effect upon the brains of whosoever would dare to hear it. Forcing the cerebellar hemispheres to temporarily stop working, making all voluntary muscle activities impossible for the time being, thus inducing... Paralysis!
"You won't be able to move for a while." Lorcán smiled walking close to him, all the While avoiding eye contact for he knew that though he was paralyzed, he was still conscious and could still use his strange technique on him.
"That's a rather interesting pair of eyes you've got there, don't you think so? " As soon as Lorcán got within arms length of him, he plunges a dagger straight into this man's left eye. No scream was heard as brain prevented him from doing that. "Now for the other." He takes the dagger out of the left socket and uses his bare hands to gouge out the right eye
"This will come in handy later." He unstraps a small water bottle from his waistline and drops the eye into it. "Now for the other technique I've been visualizing. " He jumps a few paces back
"Sound energy." He holds out his right hand and stares into the open palm, while building up magic there. "Visualize it... Mould it... "A pink hue slowly begins to appear in his palm
"Give it a physical form." The hue slowly grows and grows but to his dismay, it suddenly disappears. "I need better control." Lorcán sighed.
He brings both palms together and starts to mould energy there. He does this for 20 seconds. The hue appears and before long it evolves from just a normal hue to a pink ball of energy. "physical form." He drops one hand and looks at the ball "it's beautiful." He couldn't help but smile.
He hifts his gaze back to the frozen opponent. "Here goes nothing, Sound magic... " He raises the hand in preparedness to attack the frozen man. "Sonic boom! "
The ball of sound energy evolves into a 50cm wide beam which travels a distance of 100m at Sonic speed, effortlessly tearing through anything it touches, leaving a wide gaping hole in the opponent's torso. As he fires it, he feels a great deal of pain in his hand which sends him crashing on his butt to the ground below.
"Aaaahhhh! "
Immediately the opponent is killed, Delilah who had been suspended mid air, suddenly regains consciousness and lands on the ground.
"What happened? " Telepathically Delilah asked Lorcán.
Lorcán still reeling as a result of the pain, he groans
"Ahhgh damn! ". Lorcán took the eye home and while at home he gourged out his left eye and fused the socket with the eye he collected from the man. It was a painful experience but he was a man of gut. He couldn't see anything for a while it was all blur. After some days passed, he learnt about the eye which was called the eye of thormet. He added the training of the eye to his usual training.
In the present scenery,
"Damn, you almost had me there man, looks like I can't bother to hold back if I want to survive this." His aura begins to intensify and a gold hue fills it. "Make it worth my while... Vishous!" He smirked
